In my opinion, this has nothing to do with racism....it more has to do with stereotypical laughter. These people at your school are simply trying to get a rise out of you, and I would suggest telling your mom not to get too over-worked about it. Simply ignore them, and if it gets out of hand...THEN you can get your mom to interfere.
