Bigger harddrive, which is only available through this bundle and the (discontinued due to being limited edition) Modern Warfare 2 bundle, a more or less free extra controller, everything that comes with the Elite and a more or less free copy of the game. Plus the added bonus of having the silver disk tray face on a white console considering that the Pro is no longer available (new anyway). Yeah, such a stupid and pointless bundle. Really, the only thing I don't get about this bundle is the second controller. Still, a more or less free controller is kind of nice. Also, why should we compare this to the Japan-exclusive PS3 bundle?
To get really picky: 1964: Snake Eater 1970: Portable Ops 1976: Peace Walkder 1995: Metal Gear 1999: Metal Gear 2 2005: Twin Snakes 2007: Sons of Liberty (Tanker chapter) 2009: Sons of Liberty (Plant chapter) 2014: Guns of the Patriots
Alternatively, leave the game running for about 18 hours to recharge the save battery. Cartridge games are actually designed to recharge the battery as you play, but if you don't play it for a while, it will drain completely. Pokemon Gold and Silver were especially bad about this since the battery had to keep the internal clock running as well as keeping the saves alive.
Though, even still, they like to leave a few particularly bizarre, funny or horribly translated lines intact, for example, Final Fantasy IV's "You spoony bard!" was originally "You ****ing *******!" and the original Final Fantasy had "I, Garland... Shall knock you all down!", which I assume was a mistranslation because I have no idea what it was originally supposed to be.
Its true, though. The nineties weren't good to Japanese to English translations.
Eh, Blood Elves make pretty good mages and warlocks. Granted, both Tauren and Orcs make far better hunters, but that's beside the point.
Dammit fanboys, you have it on PSN, shut up about it already.
Suddenly I'm reminded of the ******* scalper that kept buying our entire shipments of the game from the Wal-Mart I work at so he could sell them on eBay. Then he had the nerve to get pissed when we imposed a one copy per customer policy.
Having listened to Pitch Black Progress a bit more in depth after reading this, you definitely have a point. Still, its not as straight forward as, again, something like Amon Amarth. Really, I'd say Scar Symmetry is somewhere between straight melodeath like Amon Amarth and straight prog-death like Opeth.
Well, you missed the one stickied on the front of General Gaming, where I've posted my thoughts on the matter a few times, here, most recently. Granted, that was looking at hardware, not software, so I have to parrot the rest of the people saying that you should research the kind of software you want to play on your own due to software being pretty subjective.
Well, metalcore is in fact, a form of metal, even if it does have more in common with hardcore punk. The problem most metalheads have with it is because most of it sucks. Its the popular form of metal at the moment and, as such, tends to have a lot of throw-away bands that were only signed so the record companies could cash in on the genre's popularity. Also, I have to point out for Kamelot (amazing band, I might add), European styled power metal (even though Kamelot is an American band, they definitely play the European form of power metal) in general tends to be melodic, so its a bit redundant to say "melodic power metal." Sure its not objectively false and, admittedly, it is a nice way to point out the differences between European styled power metal and the more thrash and NWOBHM influenced American styled power metal (Iced Earth is a good example here). Furthermore, by technicality, Kamelot should properly be considered progressive power metal, but, honestly, that's nitpicking and even I'm not that picky. EDIT: You know, I would consider Scar Symmetry more prog-death than straight melodeath. When I think melodeath, I usually think stuff like In Flames and Amon Amarth, not stuff like Scar Symmetry and Opeth. EDIT2: Also, it really would have been nice to know about those list tags sooner....
A couple of those were pointing out objectively false points, but yeah, alot of that post was rebutting opinions, but is it a bad thing for me to offer a second opinion?
You know you could have looked at other threads to find comparisons between the consoles. I would have made a long, elaborate post that explains what both consoles have going for them, but honestly, I'm tired of wasting half an hour typing when I'm just going to have to it again when the next person wants to know which one to get. Also, this really isn't the best forum to ask, there is quite a bit of bias towards the PS3 here and you're really looking for an objective view that actually gives some info instead of plainly ordering you to get a PS3.
For an NES game, it had one hell of a plot. Beware of a rather painful levelup system. Because the graphics and art style have so much impact on the gameplay [/sarcasm]. I hear this comparison all the time, but really don't see it. FFV has more in common with FFIII than anything. Considering that there are no actual character jobs in FFVI, what exactly are you talking about? How does FFVII scare you? Its really par for plot, characterization, difficulty and everything, really. If you also enjoy a battle system that's even more painful than FFII's, character interaction that makes no sense, plot holes miles wide and an ending that leaves the entire game completely pointless, then FFVIII is very much the game for you. And here I expected a comment that condemned FFIX for being different than the other games (even though at the time it was closer to the spirit of the series than VI-VIII were) Of if you thought FFVIII's idea of a romance centric plot was good and want to see it done right. Having played both games, I can assure you this: FFXI is nothing like WoW. Are you one of those people who thought the game had no plot because they didn't pay any sort of attention to the background because that's where the plot of political warfare took place?
Honestly, I'm going to be comepletely different from everyone else here and say that Final Fantasy IX gives the best idea of how the series works and not just because its my personal favorite. Another good place to start is, as often mentioned, FFVII, even if I do find it to be criminally overrated. Just do NOT start with FFVIII. That one is so completely different that a bad experience with it could potentially kill the series for you.
They aren't. Like I said, all of their members are Christians. In fact, the only reason parent groups raged about them is because of their name. They simply thought it would be a good band name. In fact, take a look at "After Forever" and even "War Pigs." "After Forever" has very strong Christian themes and "War Pigs" is an anti-war song about God's punishment for war mongers and those who happily profit from the death and destruction it causes. Also, off topic, but full of relevant irony, the upsidedown cross was never meant as a Satanic symbol. It was actually a Catholic symbol that represented the way that Peter, the first pope, was crucified. Because Peter felt unworthy to be crucified the same way as Jesus, he chose to be crucified upside down. Believe it or not, the upside down cross is supposed to be called Peter's Cross.
Personally, I find Leaves' Eyes, Epica and Nightwish to be far better bands than Lacuna Coil. They aren't bad and I do like Christina Scabbia, but they just aren't my thing.
Not metal. Its actually just Demon Hunter, no S, but that's nitpicking. Not metal. Demon Hunter is the only metal band you listed (even if they are metalcore). I don't mean to be a **** here, but the OP is asking for metal after all. Also, none of the bands you listed are screamo. Furthermore, you call Satanic bands attention seekers, but yet, you list some Christian bands, some of whom, such as Creed (not listed, but the ultimate example of Christian status abuse), use their status as "Christian" entirely to gain attention and popularity. Because of how niche it is, the Christian fandom has some pretty low standards. Also, Christian isn't a genre. It is an umbrella term used to describe the "moral" alternative to secular bands that devout Christian parents tend to think are evil. Like with the Creed example I used, some bands tend to abuse the low standards of the Christian rock scene, hell, its so easy to abuse that it happens on accident all the time, just take Evanecence and King's X for example.
To be fair, they do treat being vented as a sort of fate worse than death. They didn't design Dragon Knight to be a 100% recreation of Ryuki. Its closer to a reimagining than anything. You also seem to forget that Kamen Rider is quite a bit darker than Super Sentai, they had to draw the line somewhere. Think about it, is Dragon Knight really so bad that it isn't an improvement over Saban's attempt at adapting Kamen Rider Black RX? I actually hope Dragon Knight succeeds so we can get some interest in Kamen Rider and toku in general over seas as, right now, those of us who enjoy Toku are screwed over.
As much as I would prefer not getting into the technicallity of genres, grunge is more of a punk sub-genre than anything as its mostly a fusion of alternative rock and punk with some metal and a few pop elements. Honestly, aside from the small amount of metal influence, it has nothing in common with metal. Metalcore, as much as I hate it, is a fusion of thrash metal, which is considered metal with some punk elements and hardcore punk. Metalcore is equally a punk sub-genre as much as it is a metal sub-genre.
