Spoiler I know, a lot of this was so sad :(. It was a very clever way of him doing this though, I really liked it. So much to say, but I can't articulate right now ... but since when did SBHJ foreshadow stuff???
I'm 17 years old and what is this?
Before you post, remember the main rules of the site and the Literature section all apply here. If you haven’t done so already, please read both the rules of the forum and the Literature section rules. <: FAQ Book Club? A book club is a gathering of people to read and discuss novels. After a novel is chosen by group vote, each person goes off to read the novel within a certain timeframe, and later gathers together to discuss what they liked and disliked. What books will we be able to choose? For the most part, you can recommend any book so long as it is PG-13 or less. For example, recommendations of Lolita will not be acknowledged. Update: Also, please try to recommend standalone books. If you would like to recommend a book from a series (such as Twilight or Percy Jackson), please be sure to only use the first book in the series. Not everyone is familiar with the plotline of a given series, and it is best to avoid any and all possible confusion. Also feel free to recommend books that could standalone, despite not being the first book in a series. Examples include: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis Bec by Darren Shan The Demon Thief by Darren Shan Novels from the Goosebumps Series by R.L. Stine If you have any questions on what could qualify as a standalone novel, please PM either Makise Kurisu and I and we will assist you as best we can. How will we choose the books? Along with your sign up, please post a book you would wish to include in the list. We will be using the first ten books in the first ten posts in a Stickied thread in the Literature section. This thread will have a poll of these books. The poll will be up for exactly one week, and whichever book has the most votes will be the one chosen for the Book Club session. This poll will be updated with the next book before a new session begins. NOTE: If you believe a book should be terminated from this poll (or if you want to remove your own suggestion), please PM us why you think it should be removed. If a book is on there for more than FIVE sessions, it will be terminated automatically to make room for more suggestions. These can be readded to the poll if you resuggest them later on. How long will we be reading for? The timeframe will vary with each book that is chosen. For example, a Harry Potter novel may take up to three weeks, while John Steinbeck’s The Pearl may take two weeks. Depending on this, and other important factors such as scheduling problems for members, the time limit can be extended and will generally go a few days over the time it will take. What happens after we finish the book? Typically, there will be an open discussion about what you thought of the book. However, to spice things up a bit, you may choose to be creative with what you thought of the book and make something! Currently, you can choose to make a story, a poem, a video, a song or a graphic/drawing if you wish. When you finish these, you can feel free to post them in the current session’s thread and make the authors flip turnways in their homes/graves! Please note, all entries are optional, and must adhere to site rules. Story/Poem: Please make sure that the piece relates to the book in some way. This could be using a major theme in the book, or even creating a fanficton with the characters. Videos: The song choice must reflect whichever topic/scene of the novel you choose. For example, you can’t have Harry fight the Death Eaters to Rebbeca Black’s Friday even if it is pretty lulzy Song: Have a character you’ve fallen in love/hate with? Have a scene you thought was beautiful? You can create a song to convey your feeling to the rest of us! Don’t worry! We won’t make you sing! unless you’re Chev So simply posting the lyrics would be fine. Graphic/Drawing: You can create fanart of the book if you wish. It can be of anything that you wish, as long as it relates to the novel (such as a recurring image, a character, etc.) How do I sign up? Simply post below! We will be keeping a list of those signed up in the Spoiler Tag below, and will frequently edit it in the event someone cannot participate this round/someone new wants to join. It's true, I am tthe resident spellcaster around here. XD. In all seriousness though, I really like the diection you're taking this in. Also, I'm really interesten in the interaction a zombie and a banshee might have ... hmm ...
Btw ... it's my section too ... This is a great place to chat though ^^.
Really enjoyed the first chaper of the story. There were a few errors in grammar and spelling, but nothing which made it incomprehensible to read. I really like the way in which you draw Adreana as a character, it's a great skill to be able to make a character which the reader instantly despises to the core, but you puled it off beautfully. It was really interesting to see the way that you inter-weave to stroies of the characters. My guess is that something's gonna go down at the mall. then the aquarium and then the restaurant, which will see all 11 characters caught up in stuff. However, I don't know, it could be my old thoerising self coming out again XD. I'm really interested to see what you do with Aiyana, considering that her and Adreana are basically polar opposites, and i also really like how you haven't immediately stated outright what each of the characters is, their powers etc, but you've given hints to them all being different (aside from Zeni, who's just plain bizzare.) Keep up the good work, and I look forward to the next chapter :).
Well, my school is what one mught call "Year round". We get 6 weeks holiday at Summer, 2 at Christmas, 2 in October and 2 at Easter. I like the system, but I always get a little jealous of kids who gwet like 3 months holiday :(.
And also, for some reason the majortiy of the experiments done by the Grimm Experts produce either red hair and or green eyes. Seriously, go read all the characters XD. Not a bad thing or anyhting, it might be a plot point.
Sticky-ed so that people can easily get opinions on books they want to read, get advice on books they may enjoy and give out said advice to other members ^^. @Ego Imperium: I've heard that the Howl's Moving Castle series by Dianna Wynne Jones (while aa fairly easy read) is quite steampunky in style, so that might be a good one. I have also heard that "The Infernal Devices" trilogy is good, though others can verify the truth in that statement :).
It's okay, I used my mod powers to fix it :D. Good luck with this, it looks like it's gonna become a great story.
I think i agree in the main to this. I've not played L4D2 so I don't know if I can give an opinion on that one, but the other three i would agree with. Sidenote- TF2's free to play now apparently.
Here she is: I hope it's okay ^^;; • What is his/her name: Aiyana • Gender: Female • Age: 17 • Half Species Type: Human/Banshee • Height/weight: 5’10” 140lb • Body shape: Tall and thin. • Hair color/skin color/eye color: Red/Very Pale/Green • Typical outfit they wear: Long pale blue dress with a green cardigan over the top. • Moral views: She sees life as just one point in a much larger journey which we are all a part of. She is non-religious (Gnostic Athiest). • Basic personality: Incredibly quiet, introverted and shy, however, her will is as strong as iron. • Favorite Saying: “Life is just a fleeting dream in a long sleep.” • Do they or do not have a job? What kind if so?: She works a few jobs to keep alive, from concert halls to funeral parlours. • Method of transportation: She walks just about everywhere. • Favorite genre of music: Classical (Romantic and Late Romantic) and Traditional Scottish/Irish • Their theme song: MacCrimmon’s Lament (I’ll send a version if you want, cant find a good one on youtube.) • Favorite place to be: Somewhere quiet or somewhere filled with beautiful music. • Goals for the present: To help people. • Long-range goal: To help those who are lost on their way into the afterlife. • Do they go to middle school/high school?: Dropped out for reasons below. She is not stupid however, and teaches herself things in her free time. • What kind of place do they live in?: Small appartment with few material possessions. • Any kind of pet? What kind if so?: Black cat named Eilidh • Favorite food(s): Italian and french food (especially lasagne). • What is their financial situation?: Fairly poor, but she does not mind, material possessions mean little to her. • Hobby: She loves to sing and play the violin. • Normal Skill: Music, as above. Talking to people, but only when she has the confidence to do so . • Supernatural abilities: Communication with the dead and Death-sense (she knows when people around her will die, and the traditional Banshee trope applies here (one of the reasons she dropped out)), Words of power, she can bend the will of others by talking to them, or through wailing can paralyse them temporarily, but she dislikes doing this and it takes a lot of energy, mild prophecy and future-sight, usually but not limited to death and the afterlife (her Death-sense is a part of this, but it links with the Communication too). • Favorite book and/or last-read book: Wuthering Heights – Emily Brontë. • What is the bedroom like?: Fairly sparse, nothing much there. Just her bed, her clothes, a dask with an old computer and her violin. Painted white. • Parents: She has never known her parents, she grew up in an orphanage. She left that orphanage 1 year ago. • Fears: Hurting people, conflict and violence, being alone forever. • Other things that weren’t covered here: She knows nothing about the Grimm Experts.
Is there still space in this? I would like to make a character, but if there is no space then that's fine :). My Banshee will just have to sit on the shelf, wailing away ...
Are the Amber Chronicals the ones about the people who can change the world around them as they walk through it? I may need to take some books out of there ... that's way too many.
This sounds kinda harsh, but at least other people other than Sony're getting hacked. Maybe people'll stop making jokes now and do somehting ...
I'm incredibly excited about it. It'll be a great way to keep in the world of Harry Potter once the films are finished. Also ... should this not be in Literature as opposed to Movies.
Thanks ^^. Iknowrite?
Thank you very much!
It's that time of year again folks! Has everyone got their summer reading lists, or even just fun books on the side? My english teacher gave me one as long as my arm XD. I'll post it here later, but i need to find it. [Space for my list, imagine a lot of books] So, my fellow lit-fiends, are you looking forward to summer reading? I know I am ^^.
Congrats :) Together, we will fight crime, and the forces of SPAM!
