... I think my respect for you just grew a little more exponentially.
I wondered what people opinions are o dystopian fantasy, so for example Steampunk or Cyberpunk fiction/anime/otherstuff. I really enjoy it because it seems to be so different from the norm in terms of style and delivery, and I think that really makes it more interesting to me. What do you think?
I really hope that they keep the same sort of witty charm which made me love Winnie the Pooh as a child. I really liked the sort of humorous, if perilous journeys that they would go on and the Blustery Day and The House a Pooh Corner are still some of the best stories of all time. I just hope the keep the gopher in, even though he isn't in the book *4thwallbreaks".
Oh yeah? Well in MY day we didn't even have POSTS! You had to walk five hundred miles in the snow up hill both ways just to get to the server where you had to manually input 1s and 0s in order to make your message, and then you couldn't even read it back or see if anyone had replied because there was no monitor.
I don';t think there is a possible substitute for the smell of pages either new or old, or the feeling of neck strain you get when you lie in bed for half a day just reading constantly with the book in your hands, the lamp beside you on the desk with breaks only to go to the bathroom or get a new cup of tea because the old one has run dry. I love reading. It's a lot like the way I love music, it just astounds me that people can create such vivid and beautiful images and emotions in us with something so simple as words or notes. It's a different sort of art form, and I really think that it should be better preserved. Writing is something which is so important in our lives and yet is often fundamentally overlooked in our lives. A lot of people say "I don't read" yet how many people of our generation (outside of the bible belt) have not ever picked up a Harry Potter book or *shudders* a Meyer book. I love the way that books can make you go just page after page of constantly reading and before you know it you've read 100 pages and it doesn't feel as though any time has passed at all.
I used to sing all the time, I was classically trained to boot. I was amember of the Scottish National Boys Choir and I got to go loads of places which was really enjoyable. However, I kinda stopped doing it because there was a lot of politics and my singing teacher put me in for an exam I really didn't need to sit, but she made me pay the entrance fee anyway. I really enjoyed it but I don't think I could go back to that now. I still play Piano and Violin however, so I still do music, but I just really disliked singing after that.
I really like Pottercast. If you don't know what it is, it's the podcast by the Harry Potter fansite "The Leaky Cauldron". I really think that they represent the fandom quite well, and they have a lot of informed discussions about the series while also having banter at the same time. It's really good. They toured the US multiple times as well having been to London, and I really want them to come to Scotland because I think ti would be very ... adjective.
Seeing as I missed the last one, how did it go? I'd really like to do something like this, because I feel awkward talking on Voxli ... :( no-one really uses mics there anymore. But if other people were using mics I'd be more susceptible to using mine :]. If this was a successful event, would anyone be against it happening again? I wouldn't run it though ...
I still find it hard to believe I was 11 when I joined here ... things move so quickly. I remember looking back to my old posts a while ago and I cringed quite considerably. Sometimes I think "How can I possibly have been such a n00b??" The thing is though, I have a really big problem. Not gonna lie, I have a pretty good memory, but I always seem to remember the embarrassing things I do the most frequently,. and like in Primary (Elementary) school, I did some pretty embarrassing things. *sigh*. I wish I could just delete those things from my brain sometimes, and forum posts are no different.
When my brother was on his way to america last year, he told me he had a great seat. He was sitting in the row behind first class so he had a great view of the ground below once he got to america and also he accidentally got mistaken for one of the first class people so he got something free (can't remember what). I would say anywhere not near to a large-boned person to be honest. I like my elbow and leg room ...
