I feel like there is a definite separation between on-line me and real me. We're the same person, it's not like I have a split personality or anything, but I feel like a different person when I can use my handle of "clawtooth" as a shield. That's one of the problems I sometimes have with facebook, because it breaches the barrier between the mundane world and the digital one (this is starting to sound like digimon). I never know what will happen if I post or comment on facebook because it is digital-me making a statement for real-me. I'm not sure which is more accurate because I think they show different sides to me. Online, I'm not really afraid to tell people what I think and to fight for what I think is correct, but in real life, I have a quieter side and a more bitting wit I would say. I don't think either is fake, because I still feel personally like I would like to be like online me in real life and vice-versa, but there is something about the annonymity afforded by being online which allows you to transcend that. That's my £0.0123 worth.
I used to love that show as a child. I haven't seen it for years though. I really liked the irony behind it and the way that the chases worked was always entertaining.
Oh god yes I did. His regular attacks were fine, but the 10 clones in 10 seconds thing killed me more times than I dare to count. People often say that Xaldin is the hardest boss in the game but they are wrong. I beat him on the first try but it took me ages to finally beat Demyx. Although, his difficulty made that entire segment of the game up until you get back to the gummi ship a lot more epic, and it is still my favorite part of the game by far.
In celebration of me being close to being premmy, I thought I would commission a sig from you ^^. Size: Default probably, although if something else fit better then so much the better. Image: I have two. They are both the same but they were scanned in differently, so use whichever you think fits better with below: 1. http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/2458/kaelyssa.png 2. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/3048/kaelyssa2.png Text:Retribution is swift. Font: Something unobtrusive, but not unreadable. As long it is fits with the theme is the sig then anything goes. Color scheme: I would like there to be a lot of focus on the more white/blue/aqua elements of the original image for example her hair and the glowing nodes on the armour. I would also like an aqua/white fire effect in the sig, possibly as a replacement for the red/orange background. The less of that visible (of possibly photoshop magic'd colour changed) the better ^^. Border: If you feel as though it requires a border, then go on ahead. If the fire effect can act as a border and you think it looks tasteful then even better :). Thanks for reading, and if there's anything you want to ask before undertaking, then go on ahead.
Oh well, it was worth a shot I guess. At least, for me, there's no such thing as region locking for games now, so no more Re:CoM incidents in the future!
Well, I definately know that my PS3 is one of the early ones with backwards compatability. I'll need to get a hold of an imported PS2 game to test it out though, so I'll save up some money soon and see if I can get something.
... so I should preface this. So, as anyone who owns a PS3 should know, Blu-Ray disks aren't region locked: therefore, you can play any PS3 game and any PS3. However, does anyone know if this extends to the DVD drive inside my original black monolith? Could I import a PS2 game form, say, America and play it on my EU PS3 without having to get swap magic etc? Just a random question that's been bugging me for a while.
I think I read somewhere, although I'm not sure exactly where, that the teardrops are supposed to represent the fact that Axel has killed. Given the fact that he is the one often sent to eliminate insubordinate members, this would fit well.
Well, I don't really rep that much, so it wouldn't really affair me ... although I think this was put in place so that the server doesn't overload, and also to attempt to stop whoring when Rep actually mattered.
As the trio age, so too does the audience, and because of this, the story become darker ... which is somewhat ironic considering the first game dealt with darkness and the second with nothingness ... but anyway ... As this has happened, the focus has turned away from the Disney and more onto the original places in the storyline, for example Hollow Bastion and Twilight Town. Is this a bad thing? No, I don't feel it is. One of the things I feel is very good about the series is its ability to set the scene, and when the story becomes as dark as it does some times, it really doesn't feel right to be running around the sunny Agrabah or singing *shudders* in Atlantica. I think that the darker Disney worlds (Port Royal, Pride Lands, Beasts Castle, Halloween Town etc), really set the tone for the second game, and while the lightheartedness of the Disney characters and storyline is still there, it still retains the more dark aspects inherent of the growing storyline.
I just realised I joined on pi day ... 5 years ago. I lol'd.
Hi, I was wondering. If you received an honorable mention in a previous Top5, does this then entitle you to the related pin. I didn't know who to PM, so I'm not sure this constitutes a thread or not, but meh.
Just a small point: if it's better games you want, blame the Games developers who don't wish to put their games onto the Wii, and instead choose one of the other 3 systems out there (PC included, not counting handhelds). 95% of the time, it isn't Nintendo who actually make the games, it's Games developers, and the only thing that Nintendo do is allow them to put it onto their console. If you want more "hardcore" games, well, developers like the PS3 and 360 better because they have much better software capabilities, which is why games seen to be more serious are on other systems.
Popcorn, it has to be ...
Spoiler While I have never really been a fan of the Mech genre, I really enjoyed Gurren Lagann. I just watched it starting on monday and blitzed through it. I loved it ... mostly. I liked the theme and the music, and also I felt that characters were multidimensional and not at all perfect (they had flaws). There was just one thing that irked me a little, well two things really. Firstly, the ending felt so abrupt! It was literally Killing the anti-spirals, the wedding/Nia's death, then a jump 20 odd years into the future for the epilogue! I hate that in anime, I hate timejumps like that. That was the other thing that annoyed me. I liked the first "Part" a lot more than the second because I liked the theme of the rebellion and fighting for survival on earth against the spiral king a lot more than the antisprial arc. I really dislike when they do timeskips like that, because I feel I have lost some character development. I would have appreciated it a lot more had it been a second season instead of just part of the same series, but that's just a personal nitpick. All in all though, I really enjoyed it, although I don't know if much other mech is like it, so I'm not sure it's the genre for me ...
The best we can hope for right now is that VsXIII (a game which has been delayed lots, but I am still looking forward to lots) is announced at E3 in a few months time. That way, once it is released, 1st Production Department will be able to start working on KH3.
Sounds like someone is writing a new story ... To all: imspreshunshunshunshunshunshunshun-shot. Seriously though, out of all of the trolls that have been on the forum, which do you think was most "fun" (stressing the inverted commas).
I don't quite follow how science has blocked progress ... surely the point of science is the advancement and betterment of the world, not just humanity, rather than hindering it, which would be counter productive.
I can only marvel at your employment of contradiction in that sentance. Religion is a tricky subject, and not just because many people base their entireity of their lives around it. I have a kind of split-view on religion. You see, historically, Religion has been used as a control mechanism to make people conform or else bad things will happen to them. Whether or not there is any foundation in this punishment remains to be seen. Now, this can do wither one of two things to a person. Either, they become totally shut off from all other points of view, or they go along with it and remain normal people. The former is very damaging, but the latter it perfectly fine. A lot of religion is about common sense, you know, not stealing or killing, doing unto others etc, so teaching your child about the ethics of being a person and religion can often become one and the same. The difficulty arises from extremest groups such as the WBC (look them up). In addition, the blockage by religion of progress is also a total and utter sham, because while religion and science are often seen to be polar opposites, they can work i tandem perfectly well. I just don't see the point of 2000 year old ritual being used in modern day society when so much we stand by and have learned then has changed humanity's perspective. So you see, it's definately a tricky one ...
