You'd be mistaken then, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch through the ages were written by JK Rowling! She wrote them for three reasons: 1. To raise money for Comic Releif here in the UK, 2. To try experementing with writing in a different style, and 3. To give the fans some supplimentary information. THey are written in a vastly different way to the Harry Potter books so you'd be forgiven for thinking that they weren't written by her but they were.

I would agree with the books are always better than movies argument but there is one exception: the Godfather. Amazing films, crap book.

Aside from that though, I totally agree.

But, about books about books, no I wouldn't say it was a bad thing. It's another skill to be able to writ a book about the sucess of another book than to write a new story. In addition, I have an aquantance who has written a book about the Harry Potter fandom which is really well written amoungst other things. Did she cheat out JK Rowling? No, she was merely writing a book about her experiances in the fandom leading up to the release of The Deathly Hallows. Anyway, I think that it is a different thing to be able to write about real events and ficticous ones and if you want to write a book concerning the work of an author or a film or book, how much more different is it to writing a biography and those sell really well.

It's not just your local comc store, it's International Free Comic books day on the 1st of May. Should be lots of lolz. My comic store are doing some stuff as well. Enjoy it though, and expec to be asked a LOT of questions, Cosplayers normally are ... if you'd call it cosplaying.

Not all LARPing is fantasy based though, just like not all Role-Playing games are High Fantasy based. Maybe the scenarios you play are not fantasy based but it's still a form of LARP. ...:Awesome:.

I hate Bernard MacLaverty. Have you read his short story "Father and Son"? I hated it. Funilly enough, it was the same english teacher who set us "Ethan Frome" that made us read that. Anyone see a pattern here?

While I do agree with most of the points brought up here, I do know of one person who had a real s*** hand dealt to her by life. Let's just call her NPE (an annogram of her innitials).

NPE was dealt a really crap hand by life. She was going to almost be aborted bu her parents because she could have had Down's Syndrome, one of her brothers was a hardcore herroin addict who happily managed to get off of it. Her other brother was gay and got kicked out of the house by their hardcore christian parents. He later died (3 or 4 years ago) of Osteo Sarcoma (cancer of the bone marrow) following prolonged illness and a car crash. His boyfriend then committed suicide because he couldn't bare to be without him anymore. She is bipolar and has ADHD and was put in Rittalin for many years which made her faint several times a week and after each time she fainted she went into an exreme depression for a little while. She went to a clinic where she was mistreated and god knows what else. She also suffered from extreme depression and annorexia after her brother's death which only went to screw her up even more. Now she's writing a book about her brother who was on herroin who has now been diagnosed as HIV positive and her parents dont agree with it. The only way she can get out of her situation is music which is where my brother and I met her. Him and her are like family, it's amazing. If he wasn't there for him then I don't think she'd be with us right now. Going back to the story, basically, she used to be a really hardcore Emo kid and cut herself (not saying all emos cut or crap like that) but luckily she doesn't cut herself anymore. However she is still very emotional and don't you think that with all the s*** that she has gone through in her life that she is allowed to be just a little bit? There are more details that either I haven't been told or I can't remember right now but seriously? You think you can call her arrogant? Try it!
