Yeah, because a 7.5 average means its a horrible game....
Actually, he's had the idea for Brutal Legend since he was working on Full Throttle. He just didn't know what he would do for it.
I've heard their first three albums once or twice, but seeing as they're concept albums, I like to take more listens than usual to get a full feel for them.
I take it that you're a big prog fan, huh? And yeah, while I'm not completely familiar with their work, I am fond of Coheed and Cambria. EDIT: To the people who gave me bad rep for this: How is this rude?
Don't know, it never really sat well with me. I guess its because its their one song that managed to become a hit, despite it being nothing special or noteworthy, especially with songs like "Under a Glass Moon" and "Metropolis Pt 1" on the same album.
Right here. The only song by Dream Theater I actually cannot stand is "Pull Me Under."
But its on everything except the Wii.
Well, considering that I hold power metal (Kamelot, Blind Guardian), progressive rock (Rush, Jethro Tull) and traditional metal (Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden) in equal regard, I chose other. EDIT: I do have to say its nice to see someone else here that obviously likes Dream Theater, though.
You know, it is a huge pet peeve of mine to read these kinds of comments. The mainstream doesn't account for the VAST majority of new music. The mainstream has been a joke since the 80s. Remember, just because its not very popular doesn't mean its not good.
Guitar Hero II, best soundtrack, best charting. Then World Tour, then I, then 80s, then Aerosmith, then III. Though Rock Band 2 trumps them all.
"Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day" by Jethro Tull
My music library ranges from The Who, Jethro Tull and Rush to Machinae Supremacy, Masterplan and The Protomen, I don't care if its new or old as long as its good.
The begining of "Art of Life" by X Japan tends to screw with my emotions. Not because of the lyrics, as I can even tell if they are sung in English or Japanese, but rather because of the song's feel. Of course, after the intro, it then goes into metal mode, even through the 12 minute long piano solo.
Ever hear of Cannibal Corpse? Three of their song titles are "I *** Blood," "Hammer Smashed Face" and "****ed by a Knife." You don't know violent metal lyrics until you've gotten to the extremes of the genre.
That's actually exactly what I mean by companion console.
Alrighty folks, newby here and I've got something to say on this subject. There is no "better" console and on the risk of sounding elitist, thinking otherwise is pretty childish. I own a Wii, an XBox 360, a PSP, a DS and I USED to own a PS2. The only reason I don't have a PS2 anymore is because it broke.... 5 times and the only reason I don't own a PS3 yet is because I can't afford it. The PS3 is nice. I've had plenty of hands-on time to know this, but it is too damn expensive for how few exclusives it has that are worth playing. So far, the only exclusive games, among the ones that are already released, that I find appealing are Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance 2 and Valkyria Chronicals. It doesn't help that Sony's strategy seems to be along the lines of "put out new models every few months to have an excuse to keep the price up despite the fact that expense is one of the reasons people are unwilling to buy it." With both competing consoles at around half the price of the cheap PS3, I wonder how long Sony can keep putting off price cuts. The 360 is also nice. With games such as Gears of War, Left 4 Dead and Mass Effect, plus exclusive downloadable content for games such as Grand Theft Auto 4 and Fallout 3 (though I feel for PS3 users on this subject as its a very dirty tactic of Microsoft to buy exclusive content) and the cheapest price point of the three big consoles for the Arcade pakage, its a pretty nice deal. However, all is not good. The machine's failure rate, while greatly reduced by hardware revisions, is pretty bad and it is underpowered compared to the PS3, not to mention Microsoft's dirty tactics (of which Sony isn't completely innocent of, they just don't make it a habit like Microsoft does). And, while games like Mass Effect and Left 4 Dead aren't available on the PS3, they are available on PC. The Wii is best as a companion console. It has some great games like No More Heroes, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Bros Brawl, but, really, lets be honest. Games like those are few and far between with Nintendo moving their focus onto the casual market. Does a casual focus mean we should rule the Wii out alltogether? Not at all. The Wii is only US$250, which compared to the PS3's $400-$500 and the 360's $200-$400, is not much. I just wish some developer would give me something more to look forward to that isn't No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle.
You know, I used to be a huge fan of DragonForce. I thought the superfast guitars were awesome, but now, not so much. I now find it extremely boring when compared to other, better power metal bands such as Kamelot, Galneryus and Sonata Artica. This is because, aside from solos, its really just the same three chord non-sense for the bulk of their songs. I probably would enjoy DragonForce as a silly joke band that you put on for laughs if it wasn't for their ridiculously rabid fanbase, though. If they weren't regarded as so great, it would be a lot easier to not take them seriously.
