From what I've seen, they've changed up quite a few iconic mechanics of Pokemon so far in this gen, I'd be willing to see a twist with the "team" you fight against, or perhaps its not a team or an individual at all. I know the cliché formula is something that's always safe to approach, but I think there'd be lots of room for positive reception if they took a different 'route'. (pokemon pun intended.)
