Spud in general is just a great nickname. I gave it to a friend of mine at school who has ridiculously curly hair.

    True story.

    Wait...
    lol I knew it.

So does this even need to be closed? It seems like whatever hatred that was present has somewhat subsided, somewhat, at least.

    _CLOSED

... you know, actually, it really doesn't bother me. :]

If anyone decides to read this person's link, the first several chemicals (if you've taken any form of chemistry or biochemistry courses, even survey courses) are enough, imo, not to smoke.

    ...
    Acetanisole
    Acetic Acid
    Acetoin
    Acetophenone
    6-Acetoxydihydrotheaspirane
    2-Acetyl-3- Ethylpyrazine
    2-Acetyl-5-Methylfuran
    Acetylpyrazine
    2-Acetylpyridine
    3-Acetylpyridine
    2-Acetylthiazole

    Just wow. lol Even these:

    Benzaldehyde
    Benzaldehyde Glyceryl Acetal
    Benzoic Acid, Benzoin
    Benzoin Resin
    Benzophenone
    Benzyl Alcohol
    Benzyl Benzoate
    Benzyl Butyrate
    Benzyl Cinnamate
    Benzyl Propionate
    Benzyl Salicylate

They are all fairly toxic in their own rights. Actually I never imagined why the Tobacco companies would use so much Benzene (it is very commonly used, but it's enough to turn a cheek, imo). There's tons of alcohols, esters, aldehyde and other pretty not-so-great things in cigarettes. Kids, try not to smoke.

This is one of the MANY paradoxes by Descartes. This is a rather interesting one that you can really look at from a series of equally irritating perspectives... I say irritating because they are very round-about.

    "I think, therefore, I am."

You can think, therefore, you exist. That's what it looks like. This was one of the many ways Descartes was trying to figure out an absolute, impirical fact. Looking for ways to determine in the universe an absolutely true fact.

I think the real problem with this approach is that matter and existence is constantly changing. We live in a state of consciousness, imo, and when your consciousness is gone, so are you. Maybe not your molecular structure and parts, but nonetheless, you are gone. For the limited time in which you can perceive this train of thought, it is absolutely true. But it changes, as does everything. I think that would be a fact he could find: things constantly change and there is no way around it. That, at least, would be my perspective.

The statement "I think, therefore, I am" is a very meaningful statement. A lot can be drawn from it. Seeing as how every organism thinks on some level or another (which is needed in order to function on some manner), everything "is". Everything.

It is unlimited but at the same time limited, as well.

One of the most interesting things to consider is the degree of consciousness, though. Certainly we are different than a dolphin in thinking capability. We can sit down, and organize thoughts extensively (for we are privileged in being prosperous, maybe even more than we need). We don't have to worry about survival all the time, and our brain structure has evolved from years and years and years of that, apparently, which makes sense. I mean being able to create technology, computers, 3D software and comedy TV shows seem to be evident enough that we are 1) bored and 2) highly capable with our heads.

Plus Descartes is considered the modern guy. : D

No one knows how much longer. The only way to know that is through mathematical calculation, because the Federal Reserve has to pump up to the limit, and as soon as interest is too high on the debt, the Treasury will be forced to cease the Dollar as a legitimate form of currency.

Could be tomorrow, could be a week from now. Just know that it isn't at its worst stage, yet. So do what you can to say what you can and prepare for it, I guess.

It seems more like half full AND half empty. Honestly if I look at it, my first thought is probably "half empty," because I have obsessive compulsive disorder (not really, but my friends and I make jokes like that), and I like things when they are complete. So fill the god damn glass up.

It doesn't matter if they aren't "what they were before." People change. Music changes. Get over it, imo, because it will be good regardless. comparing it after 5 god damn years is pointless.

Personally I can't wait. It is going to be awesome no matter what.
