In my experience, Vegas is really finnicky with .avis. Something about standard video codecs that makes them not get along. Google usually provides an answer. Can't help ya with mp4s though, never had a problem with that.
Point granted. But if the only way they can be improved is by fundamentally changing the sound, then no thanks.
I mean... not to be pushy but you could just get a new rig. :x Would probably cost less in the long run.
I wanna talk about this because it excites me and I want to spread awareness of Steam alternatives (lest anyone mistake me for a fanboy). Some of you may have heard of sites like Good Old Games and Humble Bundle when they were first getting started. Old PC games in digital format for cheap with no strings attached? Sounds great! Patronage system that saves most people a couple hundred bucks and benefits charity? What's not to like! Did you know GOG sells new games too? Did you know Humble Bundle has a store, and is dedicated to a multiplatform offerings, including DRM-free copies of any game that has them? Now, this is the part where I stop sounding like an advert. Concept of ownership is a subject that has been touched on a few times in digital history, mostly in other media; arguably, it didn't seriously enter into gamers' minds until Microsoft's many stumbling blocks with the Xbox One. But it is a question that has been raised about Steam, the until-recently unchallenged PC gaming titan; with the threat of losing all your games for being reported in one looming large over its consumer base, people began to wonder: Is it worth paying for something that can be taken away so easily? Now, I have a feeling we could go on for at least five pages debating that one question. But more to the point, I doubt anyone will disagree that more freedom of choice doesn't go amiss. GOG and Humble seized on this unintentionally at first, I think, but then it just sort of clicked in everyone's heads: We don't have to go through publishers anymore. We have the internet! We can sell something all on our own, spread the word virally, and potentially make a killing at that. This brings us to today, where digital ownership is not just a gimmick that keeps a few fringe webstores afloat—It is a real and common choice when buying a game. Not as common on the triple-A side of things, but they also don't make up the same vast majority of the market they used to. I think I've bought somewhere around 20 games in the past two months, and of that only a fraction of them weren't available for download directly to my PC. As long as I keep them backed up and take good care of my computer, I'll always have those games; nobody can take them away by right or contract. That's exciting if you ask me. So what do y'all think? Is it the best thing to happen to gaming? Is it a temporary paradise, soon to be quashed by our console/Valve overlords? Is there some other downside to all of this?
If you're all right with Steam, the GotY editions go on sale often. You can check the client itself or the Humble Bundle website (They do purchases now).
This can be genres, individual game mechanics, plots, anything. Please be kind to those expressing their opinions and try not to start fights—Some of y'all might think I'm a fan of the echo chamber but negative expression does have its place and does deserve respect (long as it's polite). For me, anything that allows you to make realtime decisions, but applies them in a turn-based fashion (Most MMOs, FFXII, many strategy games) is usually right out. Turn-based I like, realtime I like, but that in-between is just agonizing and imo serves no purpose beyond the developer's convenience. I'd rather the game not be made than be forced to play like that. The other thing that bugs me is the isometric point of view seen in a lot of western action-RPGs (not to mention most of the "faketime" games mentioned above). I cannot imagine a viewpoint less immersive or removed from the action; literally anything would be better. Even first-person, which I traditionally don't go for. Typically games featuring this angle also come with a locked camera to boot, which only serves to take me farther out of the experience. I've tried Bastion, Torchlight II, League of Legends, the works; the only isometric-view game I can think of that I genuinely liked was the recent Wonderful 101, and not only does it have a much better reason (imo) to use that viewpoint, not only does it have segments that aren't isometric, BUT it also allows you to adjust the zoom and angle.
Oh snap! Glad it lived :'D I was agonizing over not having any funds to contribute but I guess the hardcore fans made up the difference.
I think it really depends, because people are born from every vocal range all over the world, and one person who can speak multiple languages may find one tone of voice more comfortable in one language and another in the other. Though I think studying multilingual people may be the best way to find out for sure, I doubt the results would show a trend.
I liked Riku's Disney world bits better, but anytime a character Sora recognized appeared he just killed it. When he has to fight Rinzler, when he expresses his sympathy for Roxas, when he rebuts Xemnas's little speech and reaffirms his faith in his friends... The only thing that can really top any of that is the revelation that Riku was inside Sora's dream. Sora was still growing in that game, Riku was really just taking an exam.
I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say Axel. His powerlessness speaks to me more with what I've been through, and the desperation to hold on to his only friends combined with his unwillingness to turn traitor and follow them must've been excruciating. It's like all he could do was chase them to the end of his leash. It also puts an interesting spin on KHII, where he does finally get fed up with it and does leave. In the end, being a turncoat appeals to him more than being alone, and Days shows us the lead-up to that. I loved Xion and I always will. Her actual personality was less extreme and off-the-wall than most of the Days cast (even though Days wrote most of them better in general), but she still had relatable feelings and goals. And her themes are some of the best in the series. I wish Castle Oblivion had been a bigger part of the game, but that's about it. Mine wouldn't be from there anyway, since it's Xaldin. He's pretty damned useless overall and the boss fight with him in KHII is garbage. Days didn't change anything about that, it just made him look worse by contrast. I had to retry each segment a few times, but the bit in Halloweentown was the worst, which I think is the majority response. Ragnarök is terrifying in a perfectly open field. Nah, don't see a reason for it. The clash at TWtNW is a great ending. Again, don't really see the point. Or how that would even work. O_o It effectively starts at Roxas's birth already. Same reason you eat the same thing every time you go to your favorite restaurant Because nobody cares about Mickey /brick'd LEECHGRAVE.
What exactly makes that likely? They may have shown emotions, but often those emotions were jilted or lacking in dimension. Consider Demyx, who out of nowhere shifted to a fierce, determined expression moments before fighting Sora; or Xaldin, who single-mindedly pursued Beast for most of KHII.
You never have a point You are a tender, amorphous, ever-expanding blob of discussion
You mean Valor, right? They're all drive forms.
...Your analogy is not mechanically equivalent
It'd be nice. I feel like there wouldn't be much of a difference. But if they are gonna remaster the soundtrack then please gods don't let them neuter the drums the way they did in EVERY KH track.
Yeah I was gonna say. The scenes in FM+ are more substantial, which may be more or less of a reason to dub them? Either way Xigbar's in them so
Dis but I have begun to appreciate warm weather since this past winter, when I started getting headaches so now my top four from best to worst are autumn, spring, winter, summer (spring & winter switched)
You don't have a copyright on talking
I thought for half a second that it would be playable before I realized oh wait Days wasn't playable HOIP DOIP. But that's nice to hear.
HAH, nice intro :'D Also how the frick was that "PI-KA" so clear /silently cries at not getting the chance to be in this one
