...I swear there was an airship named Highwind from one of the pre-VII games... Eh, not sure what I was thinking of but yeah, same dif. Good point about the Kain/Riku parallels too. And Riku even gets his own little jump attack in CoM, so that's a nice tie-in, intentional or no.
I figured it was a combination of these two. 'Highwind' has been a part of FF history for some time, either as names of airships or as part of their drivers' names (who is usually some form of Cid, as it were). And with Sora's focus shifted slightly in KH2, I can imagine him naming the ship Highwind. It makes sense; if you were Riku and you heard somebody was riding a ship named Highwind across space, you'd know it could only be so many people.

See that scares me a bit. Arkham Asylum reminded me of an old collect-a-thon in more ways than one, and I loved that about it; every room was an adventure in itself. Arkham City's structure was a little more fast-and-loose, but ultimately still fun to explore and packed to the brim with crafty secrets. Can they fill five times the size of that space with just as much content? I really don't care how big it is if there's nothing in it.
Cellular/molecular restructuring, yeah no I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want with that haha. It's funny though... Everybody wants to shapeshift, but it might be one of the easiest powers to totally fuck yourself over with. Which is a handy way to explain why some shapeshifters stick to a particular class of shapes, like Beast Boy: Experimentation is dangerous and tends to lead to collapsed organs, momentary asphyxiation, cellular instability etc.
Actually, I don't think it's possible for a human being to fly, even with wings. The more you weigh, the larger the wings have to be to compensate, but you need more muscle mass to lift heavier wings, but muscle mass adds weight, and it kind of just spirals endlessly from there. You'd have to go the full nine yards and turn into a bird.
