Valid points all, and this is why I don't get the hate for it. Not my favorite in the series but you could do far worse. I think people get upset with it because it doesn't play like KH, but it was only the second game in the series; there wasn't a definitive KH system at the time, really. It was nice to see them experiment. It's just unfortunate that everyone bucked against it, otherwise we might've seen more of such experiments. The one thing I'll say about the combat is that it's much simpler than the action-RPG formula; there's still strategy in picking a solid, well-rounded deck, but in practice it boils down to canceling all your opponent's moves and making your own uncancellable. You can essentially win a fight before it starts if you have the cards for it. It's not a bad formula, per se, and the simplicity is fitting for a GBA title, but it's not something I'd play over and over for that reason. More of a passing fancy.
Even so, he's got the coat to protect him. Works well enough for everyone else.
...Does that... Does that actually get you over to them? Come to think of it that's probably how you get that treasure chest I was wondering about, but do the bubbles in the Waterway also lead to those switches?
Even so, at higher levels it's very possible to wipe out waves of smaller Heartless with a well-placed Thundaga, and it ends up being the fastest way to dispatch most enemies. If it's not workin' out for you, you could try changing your equipment to magic-boosting stuff and see if that helps. You may also want to set Donald's special magic priority as low as it will go, as the chance of him casting Stop is minimized; good move, but it wastes a lot of time. (And no, it doesn't stop the clock.) Also, a note from personal experience: Behemoth is EXTREMELY susceptible to Gravity. It clears chunks of health in seconds. Fastest way to kill him bar none, at least up until the last couple of bars.

Team Pedantic, ladies and gentlemen
Most people younger than me are smarter than me, so :L Yeah, the thing is age is only a potential indicator of experience; there are plenty of adults who've spent most of their years learning nothing and thinking they know everything. And it is entirely possible to unlearn many important life lessons. I wouldn't use it to prove superiority or win an argument, and I'd rarely use it as a joke. Tends to make the recipient feel bad, which is kinda... not the purpose of a joke?
That's nothing compared to the huuuuge v-shaped turn at the docks, there's like a collision glitch or something on it where sometimes right before I round the bend my car makes a noise like it T-boned a girder and frontflips straight up into the air My roomie and I are convinced that Solid Snake is out there layin fuckin landmines everywhere
NFSMW Story Time So I'm replaying for the fiftieth time right because for some reason in lieu of properly beating the game I start from the beginning every time I get stuck, set it down for more than a few months, and come back to it and I'm racing Sonny ezpz, right? He's the first boss, he's practically built to be a pushover We're on the last lap of that one track with the winding road and a shortcut through the dirt You know the one And I take the pavement 'cause I missed the shortcut plus I'm not really trying, I figure he's like miles behind me Well he's not He's right behind me and he's OUT FOR BLOOD He comes screaming down the shortcut ramps off one of the dirt hills and fucking LANDS ON MY CAR THIS BITCH FUCKING CLOTHESLINED ME WITH A CAR I still won but at this point my whole world foundation was rocked like how can you call yourself a winner after you took a haymaker from a goddamn car STORY END
Will you be my significant figure bby *brick'd*
Found something funny the other day, thought I'd share: Spoiler: I've yet to meet man that can outsmart Oh, I just meant all of the new themes from the game seem to be surviving. Longer, at least. I've seen The Tyrant, Black Aggression, Bang!Bang!BigBang!, all that stuff on Youtube already, and it seems to survive the odd purge wave. I guess it's because some of it was released early? Eh, either way a friend of mine found a full gamerip (thx bunches Jay <3), so I'll live. Oh yeah, they've almost always taken down story and arcade videos. Which is really annoying because when I want to discuss them with friends, I have no references to turn to; I either have to play the whole damn thing again to find what I was talking about, or hope there's a pertinent summary or screenshots somewhere. Of course it's not, but no game company on the planet seems to understand that their damage control is causing more damage. ...Aaaand so is that. I suspected as much from the gameplay videos, and the fact people have already gotten their hands on her theme. It's unfortunate but it's a strike against a company that doesn't have many strikes yet.
Sad but true. :'D Hey, I said it'd be fun, I never said it wouldn't be horribly imbalanced.
Oh god please don't tell m- CHRIST I KNEW I SHOULD'VE RIPPED THOSE VIDEOS YESTERDAY DAMNIT AAAA /FLIPS THE PLANET I still don't get why they don't ever take down Daisuke's original work, especially when it's mostly better.
HOW DO PEOPLE MAKE THOSE PLS TEACH ME THE SECRET :<
Unfortunately the execution has been pretty tough since CS2 and onward, but it's still good fun either way. The tutorials are lengthy and detailed, challenge mode (while insistent on teaching you TOTALLY impractical combos) can help improve your execution somewhat, and there are lots of fun modes besides Arcade and Story. Like Abyss mode, where you run through a gauntlet of enemies and get stat boosts and powerups after each checkpoint. The Story mode's a good place to unwind, too; it's told visual novel-style, and while there are a generous number of fights, it's still less than a single Arcade run in most instances. Not to mention the joke endings in the Story mode are friggin' hilarious, if esoteric at times. If you wanna pick it up, I'd recommend getting Continuum Shift EX right now and waiting for Chronophantasma to hit the U.S. in Q1 next year. EX has a pretty comprehensive summary of the plot thus far, as well as fleshing out the roles of some DLC characters added late in CS's lifespan. (Abyss works kinda differently from what I described tho, since I'm going off BBCP's version.)
WHATEVER MAN MINE RHYMED
Y'know, it really annoys me when people say that. Not thinking about something before talking about it is not something to be proud of. Why are you even in this section in the first place if you're not thinking about it? Don't you have better things to do? Uh... Case in point: Xemnas came back from that.
