He says while being a mopey complainer E: #1 is Vaan which is NOT correct, next 3 are Tidus, Seifer and Zidane which are much closer to home
Some of those are legit but they are not your complaints You didn't raise a single one in this thread
This thread is generally a terrible sight but one good thing came of it Two great people found each other And that is enough to declare a success #allaboutthelittlethings Ben don't be a lame How can we have shouting matches over pants-on-head retarded criticisms of a system not marketed at us anywhere but the Spamzone
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the man you're giving all the awards
Yo someone besides me remembers that movie exists!? Considering KHII went for a kinda-sorta Return of Jafar vibe, I wouldn't put it past them. I can imagine a fight in the palace with the Forty Thieves, another in the hide-out, and maybe a one-on-one duel with Sa'Luk in the Hand of Midas chamber. Not to mention they spend a lot less time in Agrabah proper in that one, so maybe the layout won't be a mess.
Never doubt the power of networking
Granted a mutual ex can also be a potent bonding factor
None of you watched Toonami that night, noted

Actually the one-liners are mediocre and not at all what I was talking about. I know this isn't exactly an argument to the contrary but... this is really funny considering you're talking to a writer. :'D Saved it? Doubtful. Brought it to the level of the original? Probably not. You overestimate written word and underestimate the impact of everything else. Writers don't tell stories by themselves, and storytelling is not just about florid language. What lacks in the later games in the series is as much writing as it is plot: The way events are arranged is sloppy, unfamiliar settings are given disproportionate amounts of weight, new characters are introduced which quickly become as important as the old without really earning it, nothing is as deliberate or meaningful as it was in the beginning... Not to mention many aesthetic elements become incongruous as a less uniform range of Disney movies is incorporated into the story. There are so many awkward and disjointed elements that don't just boil down to the script, even when you're just talking about the characters. Good lines cannot fix these things because good lines have nothing to do with these things. These things will still be bad, no matter how good the writing is, and trying to improve them indirectly through quality of dialogue is both inefficient and utterly transparent. Riku will still be fighting the same boss in every game, half the worlds in KH2 will still be barely connected to the overarching plot, and Xehanort's time travel will still be really confusing. The amount of times I've tried to reconcile the plot holes in it should attest to that. Besides that, the translation's job is not to bandage something that's full of holes; it's to bring out the ideas expressed in the original work for a different audience. If the original work is sloppy, no amount of good writing will make it less sloppy. At best, it will have good writing and still be sloppy in other areas, perhaps attaining the illusion of being fixed, but not the reality. It's a wondrous art, but it has its limits.
It should come as no surprise that little me was just as spacey and absent-minded as current me currently is. That said, once I yawned aloud in religion class (Catholic school lal) without thinking about it. Made a bit of a production of it, too. I continued to not realize what I had done even as I was sent outside for five minutes. That and I was once sent to the principal's office because, while trashing a Capri-Sun, I held it up to my crotch, squeezed, and went 'Ahhhh.' The class was in hysterics, and even the principal laughed when she heard it.
And if enough people think like this, much more frightening bills will continue to pass. It's a scare tactic, they're all the rage these days. At least it's being used against the government as much as for it.
Of the three, I've heard only good things about Lost Odyssey and only bad about the other two. For what it's worth.
They can fix a bad line, but the're hard-pressed to sell a bad plot hook or repair a broken character. Actions are at least as important as words, and a good translation can't change the fundamental structure of the narrative - short of tossing it out completely, which doesn't exactly fix it. 3D's translation was stellar, and Sora had some great lines; doesn't make him less stupid in the long run. And Hatok, weren't you the one who said you didn't like either Riku or Axel's character arcs in that game? Their dialogue was good, but can it save them alone?
ROBIN IS A GREAT CHARACTER AND THE FACT THAT LATER SEASONS RE-USED EVERYONE BUT HER IS A CRIME
