Then people lack perspective. That's not the developer's fault. I'm only concerned with what Square Enix decides to do with this new freedom; if they make a good call and the fandom balks at it, let them balk. 'S their loss.

I mean, I can definitely understand the sentiment behind it. DLC could've been used to patch in important things. Major system overhauls, previously cut content, the works. KH has a history of that, and that'd be the only thing I'd be thankful to see as KHIII DLC aside from any potential Final Mix content. The problem is there's then less pressure on them to get it right the first time.

Meh, on average I used less Cures in KHII than KHI, so this is probably true. I mean, it's definitely true that KHII is easier, for a lot of reasons. But it does make sense they'd try to mask that by lessening your access to Cure. Thing is, I didn't use less Cures because I had less opportunities; in KHI, before you get MP Rage it may take just as long to get a Cure as it does in KHII.

The difference is that, at least at the start, KHI urges you to be aggressive; you can't charge your MP without attacking. If you have proper rhythm, as most people probably did, then you'd usually have MP to spare. KHII uses a rather brutish system by comparison, which essentially makes it impossible to be a dedicated caster. You can't even kill one wave of Heartless without running out, and then you incur a penalty that probably lasts quatrice as long as it took you to cast those spells in the first place.

So in short, KHI is more challenging, but it's also more rewarding; you control the fight, you get hits in, you get MP, you get to heal. In that way, it's easy to build momentum and steamroll a lot of bosses. KHII just penalizes you nonstop in lieu of actual difficulty, but naturally you won't notice because you're mashing your way through and nothing can kill you.

Staunch disagreement. KHI is both more challenging and not as annoying or cruel because its controls/mechanics are much tighter. No amount of subpar camera can change that, and frankly, if you want a bad camera, try a Sonic game some time. Hell, try Devil May Cry; it doesn't have camera controls, and it still works fine.

I think the reason people turn him into that character is because, first off, it's an easy lowest-common-denominator stock character for comedy interpretations, so everyone does it - and second... well, he's kinda spastic. His gestures are exaggerated even by KH standards, and he tends to squeal a lot. It doesn't fit him, but it's the smoothest transition into the, well, PINEAPPLES!, and for someone who's desperately looking for that kind of character, he's the closest the series has.

This sincerely makes me think about how superfluous most DLC really is. Unsettling, it is.

Thanks to this poll, I realized I only care about three of these worlds. :'D

I loved Wonderland as a world. I continue to love it every time I revisit it. Olympus Coliseum needs to be in because it represents a fun and important part of the experience. And even though I personally can't think of an excuse for it, I liked Space Paranoids in KHII and 3D and if any of these worlds are going to make repeat appearances, I'd pick that one. As for the others, I'd like to see them strictly on a can-make-use-of basis. If they can create another fun and complex vertical maze à la KHI, I wouldn't mind seeing Agrabah again. If they can actually make ship-to-ship combat fun (and take out those utterly retarded undead mechanics), I have no problem with Port Royal coming back.

My only problem with most of these is that they're spent. Their stories are over. Their every iteration has been covered, and considering the past few games in the series have adhered strictly to the plot of whatever Disney world they're in, I can't imagine any of them being fun in KHIII. What would the crisis be? What would Sora and crew be doing there? On the other hand, if they make a concerted effort to integrate the Heartless into each world as they did in the first game, any world is fair game; especially in this last installment, where the plot is reaching a boiling point and the darkness is out in full force.

This is an idea. Otherwise... I dunno, what could they add? The previous KH games have always felt like such cohesive experiences. Probably because they couldn't and didn't resort to DLC. If anything, it worries me. Will they make DLC out of things they should've taken the time to work into the game before release?

This isn't so much "I think it'll be in there" as it is "Please ye gods let it be in there," but... Pete & Maleficent tag-team. Please. Please.

...Y'know, this is a valid point. A couple of Disney villains from KHII are stated to be Heartless at the time of fighting. And I'm sure more than a few were consumed in KHI as well. Maybe that'll be a part of the plot arcs in the third iteration of these worlds?

Otherwise, I wouldn't count on seeing too many Nobodies. It was a big deal in KHII, but since then they've kinda lost their bite. Playing with too many worn-out enemy types is dangerous going forward in the series. I fully believe most if not all of the enemy types will make brief cameos, though; maybe a one-off boss fight if they're lucky.

But those were general terms. And that very quote seems to imply that not everyone from the beginning times was rotten to the core. Every character in series canon can say there were nothing but foul hearts in the beginning until their face turns red, but the fact remains that in their time frame it's only hearsay. A legend. Besides, if nothing else, there are the kids to account for. Maybe some of them had Keyblades, too. The practice itself is far from a dark art; to assume so would be to put a particularly dreary spin on the mythos, which I don't see happening in a series even partially owned by Disney.

That and I have a feeling the terms Guardians of Light and Seekers of Darkness only became official through the works of Master Xehanort and Ansem the Wise, influential as they were. It sounds like a poetic description they gave of their ancestors that was turned into a mantle for a select few. So basically, both sides have existed in about equal shares since time immemorial. That said, it raises the question of why so fewer dark warriors are left now. Were they truly just consumed? Is the dark that self-destructive? Maybe these are the sorts of questions future KH games can answer.

First off: If anyone's true between Data Sora's Heartless and Vanitas, it's definitely the latter. Vanitas is very real; he was just born different. And I doubt his Keyblade is a phony, either. Assuming he conjured it himself, it's as dark as he is. And really, the only other explanation for how he got it is that Xehanort gave it to him, which makes it even more likely to be authentic.

Second, I doubt the pureblood Heartless are made of former Keyblade wielders - or at least not in the way you're thinking. Pureblood Heartless are darkness, in its purest form; and any Keyblade wielder who steeps themselves in darkness too long, or loses their heart in the battle against it, becomes a part of that collective. But the reason they fear the Keyblade is innate. It has the power to end them, permanently. Well... Light Keyblades do. Could a dark Keyblade accomplish the same?

It would seem that light and dark Keyblades have inverse abilities. Where a dark Keyblade - well, at least one of which we know - has the power to release a heart from a body, a light Keyblade has the power to purify the darkness that grips it, allowing it to return to its natural state. Depending on how you want to think of it, you could say dark Keyblades slay light, while light Keyblades slay darkness. But either way, I don't think it has anything to do with the wielder at any point. I think it's just a property of Keyblades and the things they kill.

Lastly, it seems that the final property of both light and dark is that, when they collide in sufficient quantities, they create a transcendent form of Keyblade: namely, the X-Blade. So we know that Sora in data form still has enough of each extreme to replicate that process - possibly a carryover from Ventus, knowing what we know. Beyond that, I don't think the clash between Data Sora and his Heartless has any significance. You'd probably still need a much larger-scale clash to generate the real deal.

What you're describing is the antagonist. From the definition of villain:
    1. A cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel.
    2. Character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot.
Even within the context of fiction, the term villain applies only to the methods, motives, or any other factors that constitute a character who is malicious, cruel, or wicked - in short, evil. So ultimately it has nothing to do with which side they're on, who the viewer is made to root for, etc. "Protagonist" and "antagonist" refer strictly to the relation between the perspective character and the forces working against them; hence, a villain protagonist can exist. For the reasons you gave the Organization most certainly are antagonists, but only because they oppose Sora. They'd have to be evil to be villains. So the real question becomes: Is the Organization XIII evil?

Simply put, yes. The collective Organization is put forth as ruthless, amoral, and inconsiderate of others, and the majority of its members actively demonstrate their disregard for human life throughout the course of the series. No matter how noble is their goal, they've gone off the deep end in pursuit of it. Part of this is because , but this hardly absolves them of their crimes; as you said, it only makes them sympathetic. The only exceptions to this are Axel, Roxas, and Xion, and Axel's case is dubious at best. At the very least, all of the others were willing to kill Sora or Riku.
