He used the POWER OF BELIEF.

...Yeah no that does seem kind of odd. Maybe it works because all of the TR time travel revolves around the Cornerstone? I dunno, just throwing it out there.

Even in recent games, Second Chance/Once More feel way too centralizing to the difficulty of the game. Either you have them, and nobody can beat you, or you don't, and a lot of bosses can flatten you in a matter of seconds. It seems as though this gives Squeenix license to be lazy with bosses' AI. It has improved with time but it's still pretty noticeable. Though whether it would be easier to remove the skills and incite the rage of thousands or to totally rewrite enemy AI on an engine-wide scale is quite another matter.

I will say that the KH3D secret boss, Julius, shows some promise in overcoming this. Its attack patterns are such that it can punish you for stopping to heal when you hit magic pixel, and it also has a move that can outright destroy your healing commands. I'd like to see the team put that kind of creativity to use more often in the series.

Oh hey I posted in here before

but I disagree with myself now so LET'S DO IT AGAIN :L

Demyx was challenging, but not that difficult in the long run. I still occasionally struggle with him on Proud, and I'd be interested to see how much harder he is in FM+.

The thing I like about him is he doesn't behave like a host of other KH2 bosses. Whereas most of them have dull patterns and predictable attacks, but punish you severely if you ever make a mistake, Demyx's game is repeatedly opening you up with solid AI and versatile moves. He zones you, pushing and pulling and manipulating your position with his water spells until your head spins, then goes in for the kill. Some of his stuff comes out pretty fast, too. You have to learn him to beat him, at least more than you have to learn any other bosses in the game.

The thing that really makes me sad is I have to qualify all of this by adding "...or you can just stock up on Ethers and Thunder him to death." It actually shuts down everything he has, all the time. It interrupts him no matter what he's doing. Knocksmash accomplishes the same in less time but with potentially more MP expenditure.

2nd screenshot is my favorite <3

Well, it looks pretty. Nice to see it's not entirely grays and browns. I hope the safehouses are all warm, comforting colors for contrast. (Or that there are no safehouses. Y'know, whatever works.)

On the one hand, I feel like the crew will be pressured by the fanbase to at least include a Joker cameo. Especially since there's no chance of it going forward in the series. On the other hand, didn't Mark Hamill say he was done with the Joker? Maybe we'll see his face, but not hear his voice.

When I think of Nintendo, the first thing I think of is obvious and goes without saying, but the second is Donkey Kong. Not because I played the original arcade game, mind, but because Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of my first and fondest memories with a Nintendo-faithful franchise. Also for that reason, I've always looked at DK as a separate entity, not merely an extension of the Marioverse. They haven't had many games together that weren't cross-overs or sports games, at any rate.

Third place for me might actually be Mega Man. He may have branched out to other consoles by now, but the Mega Man aesthetic has always struck me as purely Nintendo, and most of the Mega Man games I've enjoyed, I've enjoyed on Nintendo systems. Especially the GBA games, like Mega Man Zero and Battle Network. Ahh, good times...

Unfortunately, I didn't get into Zelda until the GBC games, Oracle of Ages and Seasons. Otherwise I'm sure they'd be higher in my mind. Likewise, my first Metroid game was Fusion. Seems like I enter a lot of great series on the handhelds, actually.

I think he was always kind of a jerk, it's just that the injury pushed him over the edge. But somebody had to have a bone to pick with him to shove a glass bottle into his face to begin with.

What I'm wondering is who that's supposed to be across from him. It's not Bruce, is it? He looks so shrimpy, and... baby-faced.

Ugh I can't get over how good Black Mask looks. If they're setting out to make him as memorable as the Joker or Ra's al Ghul, they're definitely on the right track.

And is that second screenshot of a pre-disfiguring-injury Penguin? Very interesting. Wonder if he's going to get it during the course of the story.

...Ok yeah that game is significantly weirder than I first thought.

Anodyne is full of moments like this, but a few stick out from the early portions of the game. The Beach/Sea segment is the first time , and it's very possible to do it by accident. However, it is also necessary to progress, which raises disturbing implications since the whole of the game seems to be . The attached dungeon, Grotto, earns a mention as well; whereas the rest of the game thus far is at worst mildly unnerving, the Grotto cracks open the creepy shell when

And when you reach the halfway point, you can revisit the Grotto to get to several more areas which seem to be actively trying to top each other for sheer weirdness. Not a game for the faint of heart, to be sure.

Real talk I used random.org for most of this

and it was absurdly kind to you all

That last turn could've been the end but everything missed

So be proud, demons; you earned your victory.

    FOR NOW

Everyone worked on kind of the same level anyway, so it wasn't all that lop-sided. Plus I was combining the sisters' boss stats/resistances with their summonable movelists lol.
