That'd make me cry omg
Jaden you lost me at "GT Goku" Yeah, but it tends to be that Joker sets the pace, and he's not really trying to kill Batman. Ever. He just keeps goading him into a fight. Hell, even in that example, he snaps his own neck to get Bats in trouble. That and, to my knowledge, the Joker's actual fighting ability is in flux across several interpretations, timelines, alternate universes etc. Meanwhile, when he fights Terry, he's clearly geared for a fight, has the body and skills of one of the only people who could ever have beaten him, and has no qualms about killing the upstart punk standing in his way if it means he goes free. He was unquestionably out for blood, and he still lost. So you could argue Terry beat a Joker even more unhinged than usual. That's gotta earn some points.
Prepare to Blaze Edition
Are you serious they put these two in the same show MY GOD MY LIFE I- ...Oh they're just reading poems in isolated locations ... :| I like Jim more than I like Yahtzee. Ben is a performer; he is expected to find flaws in every single thing he reviews, and that's what he does. Even when the flaws are inane or he only finds one or two and is forced to hammer on them over and over. Jim's not even a reviewer to speak of, he just talks about whatever topic he decides needs attention. And he does perform, but he also brings facts and figures where relevant, makes solid points and enjoys more than three games on the planet. He manages to be bitter where called for without being pigeonholed into it. Now what I'd really like to see is these two arguing over Dynasty Warriors. That'd be hilarious. :'D
Meanwhile if it was Sherlock vs. the Doctor and Sherlock won, you probably wouldn't let us hear the end of it for weeks I'm for both of these. \o/ At his very best, most physically fit, most intelligent, and most ruthless, Bruce has only ever been able to come to a stand-still with the Joker. Terry beat him. At the best the Joker has ever been and then some, with brand new monstrously destructive toys at his disposal, and all the crass wit and psycho-manipulative cruelty he's ever had, he not only lost to Terry, he lost at his own game. No one out-talks the Joker. Except Terry motherfucking McGinnis.
Just a precaution: I may or may not be able to update the battle this weekend. Depends on whether I get laptop access (and whether our last demon posts a command). This is not the demon you selected! Also you are not currently part of the fight! Only four may take part at a time.
Wow, I'm sparking this argument all over the forums lately! Stop trying to split people into two groups. It's self-serving and inane. I am spiritual. I believe in unseen forces acting on our world in ways we don't fully understand, akin to the spirit; but I am undecided on the origin of these forces, god or not. Theists and atheists both have claims to me, but I want nothing to do with that dichotomy, or the battle associated with it. If you are only capable of thinking in terms of that duality, please keep it to yourself. I have no need of your labels.
They're not the only two options in the world, y'know.
Really glad I'm not the only one who picked that up I mean I thought it was kinda obvious
TRUMPETER uses Dekaja! The sisters' buffs are nullified. HORUS uses Violet Flash on a random target! It hits LACHESIS. VOID SURT uses Ragnarok on LACHESIS! She reels from the hit! The DARK ELF deliberates... SCATHACH is tired of all this pussyfooting about! She demands a Thunderclap! CU CHULAINN approves. QUEEN MAB is deemed unfit to vote due to her CHARMED status. ALBION is loafing around! Skill approved. SCATHACH uses Thunderclap on a random target! It hits CLOTHO. VOID The party's barrier has worn off. ~ Challenger's turn. ~ CLOTHO uses Mediarahan! The sisters are greatly healed. ATROPOS uses Bufula on SURT! WEAKNESS LACHESIS uses Makarakarn! The sisters are protected by an anti-magic barrier. ENEMY STATUS Full health. Protected by an anti-magic barrier. Mildly injured. Protected by an anti-magic barrier. Full health. Protected by an anti-magic barrier. ~ It is now your turn. ~ PARTY STATUS HORUS is at full health. The DARK ELF is fully composed. QUEEN MAB is CHARMED. SURT is mildly injured. TRUMPETER is at full health. The party is levitating. Help & Hints Unfortunately (and fortunately), if an attack is VOIDed or hits a WEAKNESS, it won't change the number of moves the attacking team has. All other effects still apply, so be mindful of your opponent's resistances - and your own weaknesses! Bosses VOID all of the cool shit. It's really, really stupid. If a demon in the DARK ELF court suffers from a status effect, they will be deemed unfit to take part in the approval of a skill. As a countermeasure, skill approvals will require less of a majority vote.
TRUMPETER uses Makakaja! The party's magic power is increased. HORUS uses Mediarama! The party is healed. SURT uses Hellfire! CLOTHO is hit once, dispelling her barrier. LACHESIS is hit twice, dispelling her barrier and dealing damage. ATROPOS avoids the hit. The DARK ELF is deliberating... QUEEN MAB suggests Makarakarn. CU CHULAINN approves. SCATHACH is displeased with such cowardly tactics! ...But she senses it is a wise move, and reluctantly approves. ALBION is loafing around! Skill approved. QUEEN MAB uses Makarakarn! The party is protected by an anti-magic barrier. ~ Challenger's turn. ~ CLOTHO uses Marin Karin on QUEEN MAB! QUEEN MAB is now CHARMED! LACHESIS uses Makakaja! The sisters' magic power is increased. ATROPOS opts not to make a move. ENEMY STATUS Barely injured. Mildly injured. Mildly injured. The sisters' barrier has worn off. ~ It is now your turn. ~ PARTY STATUS HORUS is at full health. The DARK ELF is fully composed. QUEEN MAB has been CHARMED. SURT is at full health. TRUMPETER is at full health. The party's barrier will wear off before the sisters' next turn.
Can I just say "YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT" and leave? No? Sh#%. If Nolan wanted you to know whether Cobb was still dreaming or not - if there was even an answer to that question - it wouldn't have ended the way it did. The ambiguity IS the answer. The point of the film is that Cobb is being wracked by phantoms from his past, whether he's dreaming or awake. The final scene is not simply him reuniting with his kids, but him overcoming the guilt that kept him from going back to them when they were waiting there all along. It's his maturation, the completion of his journey. We shouldn't be concerned with whether he's in limbo or not, because he isn't concerned with it in the slightest. Also, neither. :L
I think it's interesting how absurdly two-faced I am. Of course everyone is made of conflicting thoughts, ideas, and behaviors all vying for attention in their heads, but I think I'm extraordinarily polarized in that way, especially when it comes to dealing with others. Sometimes I'm a hyper-empath who can tell exactly what someone's thinking; sometimes I am stupidly oblivious to it, or my guess is flat wrong. Sometimes I am in love with people as a general thing, love to be around them, love to hear about them, love to see their faces light up when they talk about their interests; sometimes people disgust me, everything they say irritates me, and I wish they'd go away. (Well, most of them. I usually want at least one or two around.) I go from warm and friendly to cold and distant, and occasionally the change is visible, as if someone's sucked all the hot air out of the room. And of course, the most obvious, my gender-fluidity: I want completely different things from myself or a romantic partner depending on my mood. It's led to some interesting results in my friend circles. I serve totally different roles in different groups. If I've known someone for a long time, my behavior around them starts to stabilize, and I maintain one of my faces more often. But when I'm just meeting someone, no bet is safe; I'm still figuring out how I want to express myself around them, and I can switch masks quickly. I've been told more than once that I'm unpredictable, inscrutable, intimidating, even frightening. I find myself easy to read, but I guess it's because I'm with myself all the time; I know all of these moods, I know what they bring and what to expect. There are a few who can sift through the mess, but I've been known to catch people off guard who say they can read me like a book.
It's one thing to say this as a rule, but it's quite another for those who have to deal with it every single day of their lives. LGBTQs have cut people a lot of slack for a long time. It looks good on paper, but... Of course not. No one's saying we do. But nobody ever talks about gender that way. You ask if there's harm in not talking about it; I ask, haven't we been doing that for a long time already? It shouldn't be a question that there is harm in it, hence the aforementioned bullying. I could actually go strictly from this and rip this argument a new windhole, but to keep from digging too much into my personal life, let's just say I can think of quite a few examples where you're very, very wrong about that. It's a matter of how deeply it affects you; even the simplest topics can cause grave harm from a misunderstanding. Well... uh, we don't really have a choice. I'm speaking from the perspective where those definitions are already as smeared as they can possibly get. I guess it depends on where you live? There are two biological sexes. But what about intersex individuals? What do you tell them? Which way are they supposed to lean? Do they just pick arbitrarily? Two choices may be enough for some, but not for all. The significance is in comfort over convenience. Abolishing the concept altogether would deny too many individuals basic comfort with themselves, their bodies, and their identities. Perhaps they are meant to find it in traditional gender roles, but that wouldn't be very convenient either. This is kind of like if someone asks you whether you're religious or an atheist. They aren't the only two options. They cover broad swathes of people, yes, but a sizable number cannot answer that question as presented. Not to mention, it begins to assume the guise of a battle between peoples; you have to pick a side, and you're against the one you don't pick. That's what duality does when applied to people's identities. If someone doesn't want to get into it, that's their business; they have every right not to, and the worst that will ever happen to them is they'll be addressed as whatever sex they appear to be. I wonder why the question here is "Why is it significant?" and not "Who is it hurting?" You seem to assume this holds true for everyone.
