I'm not talking about there NOT being good stuff before, I'm talking about the sheer number of great things. Like, I barely make it out to the movies, and I never watch TV, but I've still seen great stuff, and I hear about even more. Breaking Bad, Adventure Time, the Lego Movie, Frozen We jsut sorta seem like we're in a high point for most entertainment genres Again, besides video games, which look to be headed towards another crash
How understated things are is one of the movie's strengths. None of the characters are really extremes which helps round them out. Anna could spend a bunch of time moaning or freaking out about the situation, but she more or elss takes it in stride, with mini freakouts to vent. Similarly, Elsa is still nice to Anna and still has a sense of humour. I feel like if this movie was made a few years ago they would have both been made more extreme
For the past while now, we've been experiencing a torrent of great movies and TV shows, after a really extended period of somewhat decent but mostly horrible stuff Like, it feels like every month there's a new show or movie that people are hyping as one of the all time great things that will be remembered when we grow old, and they're pretty much always RIGHT It's crazy And like, even continuations of franchises that people didn't really like, or people were getting sick of seem to be taking a turn for the better We're in some sort of crazy light age or renaissance, or something (also we have this blossoming youtube entertainment network, too... seems like this is jsut a good era for entertainment overall... unless your video games)
Really liked it But I dunno, did anybody else feel like it was too short? It felt like everything happened too fast, there was no real time to let the ramifications set in. There's not much sense of scale, either. Like the entire crisis begins and is averted is about 24 hours, and it makes the pacing weird. Like Elsa escapes the people and sings a song about how she's free. We segue over to Anna going after her, adn the next scene involving her is her singing about how she's not free. Then Anna leaves, and the next scene with Elsa is her being taken back, then the rush for the ending, and that's that. I honestly feel the comedy was a lot stronger of a point with this, since the fast pace served that a lot better. It humanized the sisters a lot (It's nice seeing female characters where the writers aren't afraid to make them silly or make them the only sane one) and I was surprised by how well Olaf turned out. Also liked the cute jabs at older Disney stuff. But yeah, overall solid without any major flaws from what I could see, but I think it could have used some more breathing room. I saw in the deleted scenes that originally they considered having Anna look for Else 6 months after the fact, which would have let the ramifications of the situation set in a lot better (I mean, how does Anna even know they have a permanent winter after less than ONE day?)
For anybody writing out huge essays for this @Ars Nova You're probably wasting your time. I can't speak for Square Enix specifically, but a lot of companies use an algorithm that sorts out most commonly reoccurring words from all the results, and use that for their stats
This has become my favourite movie of all time. They took every opportunity they had and aced it
DS versus Ps2 is like the ultimate showdown
Oh, forgot to say I'd be interested
Well the obvious KH twist is to make the Mafia Nobodies
I haven't played a Mana game, but I know the series is well loved, so seeing it finally get a sequel and it be using Square Enix's terrible mobile business model must be rough for fans
Retool? You mean keep them the same as they were originally? Sounds like less work to me
Were those worlds in that poll worlds they're considering for KH3? I think they were And I think voting for Timeless River was a smart choice
I know! I could have SWORN there was another Highwind airship, and another Cid Highwind, but the wikis say otherwise
I was actually going to make this point, but I looked it up and... it's actually wrong. The Highwind is ONLY in FF7 (And Tactics, but there it's implied to be the same ship) And Highwind is a VERY regularly occurring name in FF, but it is commonly associated with Dragoons, not Cid. The first instance of the name was actually Kain Highwind from FF4, and if you think about it, having Highwind associated with Riku in the sense is logical. He very much fits the typical 'lancer' role of a five man band, and as a character is fairly similar to Kain
pirate it .
I'd still take Xion telling Roxas that's a stick
Applying a timescale to this sort of thing at all is just bizarre, honestly. Really goes to show that cartoony stuff like KH shouldn't have a time scale applied to it Like, how many days did he spent just flying the Gummi Ship?
I dunno, I'd take Xion telling Roxas that's a stick over seeing Roxas fight a Wyvern recolour Though not animating the Riku fight is pretty much criminal
Pinocchio says otherwise When Riku first shows up we get a cutscene where the Organization comments on Sora already being in the Castle, adn that Namine is altering his memories. I believe Days gives us n actual time scale, something like three days, but yeah.
Riku appeared in Castle Oblivion after Sora, and Mickey didn't find out he was there until after that
