Physical stuff arrives at widly different times. You can't release a digital game before a retail one because digital isn't a big enough player yet. Like I remember books would arrive at the book store MONTHS before the release date, but they won't sell it until they can be sure everyone will have it I remember when I was young I asked a guy at toys R Us about some Yu Gi Oh cards that were supposed to come out. I didn't know and neither did the guy I talekd to, but apparently the booster packs were meant to be sold in late winter, it wasn't really near release. He went into the back, found the pack, sold it to me, and when I came back to buy more I found out the guy had actually gotten in trouble for it. It's just kind of accepted that products are supposed to come out at a certain time
