That's an old trick hidden in Final Fantasy games. You press L1 R1 L2 R2 Select and Start all at the same time and it brings you back to the main menu. Save first, unless you don't plan on saving.

A n00b is some sad git who was swayed way off course and is practically a jerk and stuck there for a long period of time before recovery. I myself have been one, I'm still recovering. Even though it is a twisted psycological anime (kinda like Neon Genisis Evangelion, which I also liked) and hints some yuri (it shows nothing, it's a clean anime) between the main characters, it's a good anime.
