Officers ran throughout the manor searching and hunting for their prey. They searched practically every corner of the manor and to their dismay there were far less people then there was originally stated. A burly man walked into the mainhall and stood over the bodies of both Jackson and Wallace "pathetic fools, gone off and got yourself killed off by a mere teen" the man said. Coming from far higher up, the man named Derrick was one of the few placed in charge of collecting the teens. To be honest he never cared about whether the children lived or not. They were the enemy, simple as that. If he had orders to murder them in cold blood then so be it.

As Derrick walked forward the sudden commotion up in one of the rooms caught his attention and before he knew it he watched as an airship took one of the teens away. "EVERYBODY MOVE NOW I WANT PEOPLE FOLLOWING THAT CONTRAPTION NOW! WE NEED AIRCRAFTS NOW! THIS IS ALL THE PROOF WE REALLY NEED" Derrick yelled. Derrick was always one who loved to use force, the children were consider harmless and so he really didn't have much freedom with his actions, but now that there were two dead corpses and the fact that an airship showed up out of nowhere meant that they were indeed a far greater threat. Oh how he was so pleased to see all the wonderful things he could use against these teens.

He waited and waited for whoever was left to arrive next. The situation was far to grim and the moment he heard the sudden sound of crashing Casey did what he had to do and sealed off the entrance with the barrel. He knew somebody was missing from the group, he knew that he was leaving that person to deal with the authorities, but he had no choice, he needed to save everybody else...otherwise they would all be caught as well.

Temperance's sudden outburst came out of no surprise and alll he could do was let her pry at the barrel. He wished to go and help her, he wished to run up and bring Cherno and Olivia down...but he knew that was a childish delusion. And so, with eye shut tightly he merely left her be. He stood there unable to do anything up until Temperance shifted all the blame to him. He deserved it all, he deserved their hate and scorn and he deserved a fate worse then even eradication from existence. Pain enveloped his body, his body shook and his mind was going mad from the mental and physical pain he was going through. His leg could no longer hold him and in the end Casey collapsed to his knees and gripped his hair as tight as possible. "Worthless....I'm so...worthless" Casey said as closed his eyes as the tears ran down.

Laurence immediately heard the voice of Casey and listened to the boy and rushed into the cellar with the others.

Casey rushed as fast as he could towards the cellar as he knew that everybody would have heard his or Wallace's voice As he rushed on he spoted Harley and the others and ran with them "The authorities are on their way...this whole ****ing manor was a trap to get us all together" Casey explained as they ran. He wanted to apologies greatly but now was definitely not the time to do so. As they got into the cellar Casey's eye darted around until he noticed a huge barrel up ahead. Rushing towards it, and grabbed the barrel. Passed the barrel would be an exit underground and if Wallace was telling the truth then they would be free. With a big sigh Casey immediately removed the barell and to his pleasure a small path was there that they could use to crawl in and head underground, "Everybody climb in!" Casey yelled. He would let the others go first.

Casey smiled as he sat with the others but then...

    BANG

A sudden gunshot echoed throughout the area and Casey immediately stood up. Were the officers actually here? But how? Why? They would have surely made much more of a ruckas…but the biggest question was who got shot? “wait here” Casey told the others as he immediately rose to his feet and rushed out of the kitchen. The utility belt he took from the officer he killed was still on him and it was only natural that the armed Casey go off. Casey crept forward into the main hallway but a familiar face was up ahead “Jackson? Whats going on? Why are you back so soon?” Casey asked

“Ah kid your safe! I forgot something over here and came back…damn that shot scared the hell out of me….gimme that gun and I’ll check it out...afterall that gun is useless with you using it” Jackson said placing his hand out

Casey’s eye widened as he stared over at Jackson and his hand shook. What Jackson said was true since he obviously never used a gun. He didn’t want to take another life, he didn’t want to go through what he did with that officer. He pulled out the gun and took a step forward but then…

“DON’T LISTEN TO HIS LIES YOUNG SIR! IT’S A SET UP”

The sudden voice of Wallace reached him and Casey’s gaze immediately darted over to a doorway and Wallace had just burst through. The man was panting hard and as he stood he held what seemed like a bullet wound “They are coming…this manor is a trap to lure you kids here…the authorities are coming NOW” Wallace said weakly as he collapsed

“YOU DAMN OLD MAN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! WE ALMOST HAD THEM!” Jackson yelled as he pulled out a gun and pointed it at Wallace “WHY ARE YOU TELLING HIM OUR PLAN?!” Jackson yelled

“…wh-what…no….NO!” Casey yelled in pure despair. Jackson wanted them caught, he betrayed them and now the government were coming straight at them. What hurt the most was that the one man he trusted, the person that was like another grandfather had betrayed him. It truly explained why Wallace was so unnerved over the past few days. “Wh-why…WHY?!” Casey yelled as the tears ran down his face.

“Your just an idiot aren’t you? There are bombings all over the world and you’re asking why? HAH I never could stand you kid and if offing you would make everything better then so be it…hell I may be a hero after all. Poor Casey….he’s a wanted kid and worst of all-“

“STOP THIS INSTANT HE DOESN’T NEED TO KNOW!” Wallace yelled

“SHUT IT!....its best he knows what his actions caused….you see Casey boy…..that bombing? Your precious mother, father and sister…poof…all dead” Jackson said

Everything snapped, Casey’s eye turned hollow and empty as he stared at Jackson “gone…they are…dead” Casey said quietly as he stared at the man. Everything hurt…his mind just snapped. Everything….everything was gone and he mind was just in pure turmoil

“Everything would have gone far better if that jackass didn’t open his mouth” Jackson said in disgust as he continued to point his gun at Wallace.

“I’m sorry…I’m sorry young sir….I can never receive your forgiveness. I’ve server your family well and I never regretted doing so…what I’ve done is unforgivable....” Wallace said as tears ran down his face. Suddenly Wallace rose to his feet and stood up “But I will set things right….ESCAPE YOUNG SIR EVERYONE RUN” Wallace yelled out as his voice echoed throughout the manor as he rushed towards Jackson

“WALLACE NO!” Casey yelled. His mere trance was snapped by Wallace’s words and before he could do anything there was another shot and Wallace fell to the ground and never moved again. It was true that Wallace betrayed him…but the man tried to fix his error. He told Casey of a secret passage way out and he even tried to prevent it. Even if death awaited Wallace he tried….and it was for Casey’s sake….once again somebody he care for perished for his sake. As the tears ran Casey let out a yell of anguish as he rose the gun in his hand and pointed it at Jackson.

“Hmm? Are you serious” Jackson said as his attention was directed at Casey. “lower that gun idiot…I know you…you can’t pull that trigger…you can’t bear the sin of taking a life…you your just a kid…a worthless kid…a pile of shi-“ Jackson said but immediately stopped upon the sudden force that pierced his chest. As he glanced forward at the teen that shot him, his eyes widened upon staring at the boy’s eye. The innocence was no longer there…no anger…just a frigid coldness. “Who…who are you” Jackson said as his body collapsed.

There was no feeling this time…it was the second time he took a life and he felt nothing. He didn’t have time for any feelings…they were coming…they were close…they needed to get out…going outside would be suicide…they had a chance…Wallace’s final gift…the passageway underground…whether it was a trap or not, Casey would believe in the man’s words “EVERYBODY HEAD TO THE CELLAR NOW” Casey yelled.

"well I'm heading off on a nice supply run...you kiddos have fun and bug little Casey if you need anything" Jackson said walking off while giving a servant a little signal to follow him. With that the two walked off and in the end Jackson was out of the house and on his way.

    Such glorious pain,

    Such wondrous pain,

    Such titillating pain,

Oh why did it have to begin to leave! the pain that his goddess had given him was soon starting to lose it edge and all Laurence could really do was cry. He cried and he cried and he cried...it was true anguish! But he couldn't fall into despair! god was far from done and he could take comfort in that very single fact. Oh how Laurence was oh so ecstatic to realize this! Jumping up to his feet, Laurance raised his hands to the sky as his eyes glistened "OH GODS! I WELCOME THE NEW DAY THAT HAS BEEN BROUGHT BY YOUR AMAZING GRACE!. LET US BASK IN THE jgeege-" Laurence began to yell but suddenly collapsed from a force to his back.

"Oi keep it down Laurence, people are sleeping" Casey said with a groan as he lowered the leg he used to kick Laurence and walked into the kitchen. He really didn't get the greatest amount of sleep that night and all his wounds were blazing. His whole body was nearly wrapped in bandages and the way things were going on at the moment he really probably would keep it that way. He just couldn't sit around and do nothing while his wounds healed, he did far to much of that when he was younger and it just didn't sit right with him to just not do something. As he walked into the kitchen the note caught his attention immediately. It was obviously a good idea for them to get out of her and to know they had another place was a good idea. When he noticed a few in the kitchen already a soft smile crept across his face "Ah! morning everybody" Casey said closing his eye with a bright smile

Morning arrived and the long haired man rose up to his feet with a relaxed smile. The house was certainly full and this pleased the man greatly...it made thing much more interesting for him. Getting himself dressed, Jackson walked out of his sleeping chambers and walked on with a grin on his face. To his pleasure he noticed a few of the kids were up and about. "Gooooooooooooooooofd mornin kiddos" Jackson said with a bright grin "nice to meet you all, names Jackson" Jackson said as his eyes noticed a peculiar little message on the wall "....interesting" Jackson said.

Casey smiled as he watched Marina drift off to sleep and only sighed when the girl was out. With nothing else left, Casey turned his attention towards Harley and gave him a nod. "I just want to know I am very grateful for you looking over Marina like this" Casey said with a small smile. It was true that Harley really would have done was he did regardless if Casey was around and possibly even better had he not been around. Regardless he was happy that Marina has somebody else she could also rely on. He was really grateful and for him it just felt rude not to say anything to the older teen. Bidding Harley farewell for the night, Casey walked on away from the area. As Casey walked on the big doors to the manor suddenly opened and Casey immediately narrowed his eyes upon realizing just who entered the manor. "Oh great...your her Jackson" Casey said closing his eye with a groan.

"Nice to see you too dude and whoooooooooa just look at the new look...tryin to be a rebel or something Little Casey" the man named Jackson said walking in with load of things. His hair was long and black and his attire was certainly far too casual

With this Casey let out another groan as he facepalmed. Just talking to Jackson was infuriating and all the mocking from the man did not help at all "Just tell me...what news have you recieved?" Casey asked

"Weeeeeeeeell first off no go on the other kiddos and second of all the authorities are still running around like a chicken without its head soooooo I'd say we are in a good position! hell I even brought a shitload of useful things" Jackson said with a grin

From Jackson's words Casey could at least sigh in relief. For now their situation was not as bad as he thought he would and they did have more items to help the others with. With some of these things Wallace would be able to do all kinds of things for them "Well thanks for your help Jackson, I'm heading off to sleep" Casey said lazily as he walked away and sighed.

As he walked on a familiar man stood up ahead, and strangely Casey noticed this man had a look he rarely saw, the butler named Wallace looked like he was unnerved about something. "Something wrong Wallace?" Casey asked

"Hm? oh young sir...no there is nothing wrong, do not pay heed to me" Wallace said with a smile "Why don't you head on over to sleep?" Wallace said

"come now Wallace, you've worked yourself as if you were some sort of robot butler...at least let me help out" Casey said.

"Young sir I must decline, you've done more then the share of work and I am the butler of this manor, its my job after all" Wallace said with a smile "....you have truly grown to be a fine young man. If your mother and father were here they would be bursting with pride" Wallace said "I've....been in service to your family for such a long time and its a great pleasure working for you...." Wallace began to say but paused for a good while "Young Sir....no...Master Casey....I have some information you should know" Wallace said. And so Wallace began to explain this little information and with it Casey listened. He knew this was important and needed to know the details of this. With the conversation done Wallace turned away "now if you'll excuse me I must tend to Lady Marina" Wallace said walking away

With a light smile Casey watched Wallace walk away and sighed. Wallace always tried to deny it, but with all the service he put into the Heckles family it was like he was a part of the family. With this Casey returned to his sleeping spot and soon drifted off to sleep

The mere weak touch that reached Casey's cheek immediately calmed the teen. As he listened to her words Casey closed his eye and held the hand of Marina gently as she rubbed his cheek. "Alright....I'll stop crying and be a strong like you Mari. After all I cant just sit around an simply cry like a baby" Casey said softly with a smile. He knew Marina for quite the long time and all the many things she told him he believed. Her promises were absolute to him, he knew she was strong and he knew she would do all she could.

Theodore or Elliot...those two were the ones that had the best chance to help Marina. He didn't know were they were or even if they were dead or alive, but he needed to do something to at least bring back one of them to Marina in order to help her. It was the only thing he was able to do at this point in time and for now he would have to at least smile for Marina's sake. "now come now, I'll have Wallace tend to you...just relax and sleep Mari, you still have to tell me some fortunes after all" Casey said with a smile.

It just when he though the tears could no longer flow that it suddenly began fall. Just hearing her words about his hair and seeing the tears fall from her eyes caused his own eye to water "I'll recolor my hair pink...I'll grow it as long as you want it to so please don't die...You cant die...your the strongest person I know Marina...everybody precious is dying before me...please don't die...don't leave me...please Mari" Casey said softly closing his eye tightly. It hurt him severely, the pain was great and he didn't know what he would do if Marina left his life. She was never just some fortune teller to him, she was his best friend.

The presence of Harley caught him off guard and made him remember that there were others in the manor. He listened to the words of Harley and merely allowed the older teen to do as he wished with Marina. Just what could he do really? he was a useless fool who couldn't help anybody in the end. Even this manor that may have seemed to have been a safe haven could not guarantee anything. The water from his eye was gone and Casey silently stared back at Marina and listened to her words once again. "You...want...to die?" Casey said silently closing his eye once more. He couldn't kill her, he couldn't kill the girl he found precious. The girl that was one of the strongest people he knew...was giving up. Just what hope did he have left if the one person he believed in was giving up.

Casey could only smile at the response Bernadette made and sighed "sounds easy...but we have no way of getting a flight and airtravel would just be far too dangerous" Casey said with another sigh closing his eye. Things were already dangerous and as much as he hated to say it all their actions of progress was because of Crestetia. They needed to walk on their own and prepare for something not because Crestetia threatened them. They didn't exist and their deaths would mean nothing in the end. If they wished to have meaning they would have to stand and prepare themselves for the future. There were still things he didn't know, important things that were needed to needed.

As Casey pondered on with this thought the sudden sound of banging reached his ears and immediately Casey opened his eye. Something was definitely wrong and the moment he realized this he got off his seat and rushed towards the source of the sound while ignoring the fatigue and pain he felt. What awaited him was the sight of Marina up ahead laying on the last step and in pain. With this in sight Casey immediately rushed as fast as he could and crouched down to her side and held her "Marina! Marina are you alright?!" Casey asked as he looked down at her in fright. He never called her by her full name, but this scene just terrified him. Marina was somebody very special to him. Even if she never though of him as anything he still cared for her deeply. Altair died, his families status was unknown and his granduncle had died risking his life to save him. He felt useless and seeing Marina is pain like this only strengthened this. He wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't fall. All he wanted to know was that his strong Psychic Mari was alright.

Things were certainly not going to be easy since Casey barely knew most of these people. He was glad to see Bernadette help out but he'd rather she didn't do anything since she was a guest. Nonetheless in the end the girl had taken over and him and Wallace merely let her be. An assortment of food had been placed out already and most of the work had been done so there was little that needed to be done yet. Casey was surprised at the work that was placed into this hidden abandoned manor to the point that he never expected to even return to this place in the first place. Wallace really cleaned up the place and to have so many supplies showed how much hard work was placed in here. Fresh food was definitely going to be a problem later on with all the radiation, but for now they really did not need to worry for the moment.

After a small and quick conversation with Wallace, Casey let out a sigh as he took a seat nearby. Fatigue was now common and after all the work he put in yesterday and the wounds on his body he was getting tired fast. "For now no news has come in yet. I have somebody named Jackson looking out for any others...Its not much but its whats best for now" Casey said closing his eyes "What we've got to do now is come up with a future course of action to take. We obviously cannot stay here for long and surely Crestetia will be taking action if things don't move" Casey said. He disliked talking about such things, but the 50th day had passed and Casey figured things would become far more difficult now that they passed the half point.

Just how long will this manor last until it burns to the ground?

Pain, how long ago was it that the teen accepted it and managed to endure it? how long till it would fade and how long till his mind would snap from it? A warm aroma reached his nose and soon enough Casey Heckles' eyes fluttered opened. Sitting up Casey glanced around the area. Since there wasn't the greatest amount of space for people to sleep on, Casey chose to sleep on the ground and forfeit any comfort to others. The others were guests and he would be sure to treat them well.

As he rose to his feet he walked over towards wherever the aroma was and smiled as he noticed warm food was being set out by Wallace. The food wasn't much, so they had to make due with what they had and made sure to savour what they had. "Good morning Wallace, let me help you out with that" Casey said with a small smile as he proceeded to help out the old man

"No need, young sir I've got this" Wallace said.

"Don't be ridiculous, you've been working so hard for the others, its only fair you get some help" Casey said with a smile as he began to help out around with the food "Say Wallace...where did we get all this food? surely supplies are a bit hard to come by?" Casey asked

"Jackson has been scouting around for supplies...he'll be around shortly with some more medical items" Wallace said calmly as breakfast was set out.

Here is something I wrote up during the break

As I lay here wounded and in pain I recall I time of my childhood, a precious memory I wish to never forget even until I grow old and senile…

I remember a hospital, one that I visited many times. I can still recall my parents carrying me to that place and the amount of times I cried for them to stay with me. They told me that I was sick, that I needed to be brave and strong. I was merely a child at the time and could not understand the severity of the entire situation. I can still remember their smiles and attempts of encouragement, but nonetheless even as a child I still saw the sorrow in their eyes.

Toys and sweets were nothing uncommon to me at the time. As I sat in the hospital I received everything a child would ever dream of having, but I didn’t want any of that, I just wanted to be with my mom and dad and to get out of the scary hospital. Their visits were common and as much as I wished to cry out to them I did what they asked me to do. I remained brave and strong, I placed a big smile on my face to tell them that nothing was wrong.

The fear and tears soon stopped as I grew. The ignorant child that I was soon began to realize the truth and just why I was there in the first place. There was nothing to look forward to and in the end all that rested on my face was a fake smile. Time passed and though the usual procedures continued, something new occurred, something that changed me. A girl in her late teens was assigned to share my room. She was friendly and kind, but I was far too quiet. Other than the doctors and my parents, I never really managed to ever communicate with other and now that I could, I had nothing to say.

“Hello there, my name is Maria. It’s nice to meet you” she said as she introduced herself to me with a bright and warm smile.

“my name is Cas….er…C….just call me C” I replied softly. Casey was a name I dreaded and hated. As much as I hated to admit it my body wasn’t the most masculine one and my name definitely did not help that at all.

“C…what an odd name” Maria said with a small chuckle “so whats wrong C? you look so down, so sad” Maria told me

Such a question caught me off guard. There was nothing I could say; I was speechless and just sat there silently.

“Come now, don’t be so down, cheer up! Put a smile on that face” Maria told me with a great amount of liveliness.

“what’s the point?” I said to her. All those times I put on a smile was merely to erase and concern my parents felt….just what was the point of smiling any other time when I could truly not look towards the future.

“To live without happiness is not living at all” she told me. Those words struck my heart and stuck with me even till this date. “I’ll show you that this life is one to look forward to, I’ll make sure there is a bright smile upon that face of yours” Maria told me with a great optimism.

I decided to trust her words, and in the end it was the best decision I ever made. Maria told me many wonderful stories, stories of her family, stories of her friends and all the wonderful things that occurred outside the hospital. These stories brought me joy…and hope, she successfully did what she set out to do and in the end made me smile and enjoy myself.

Time passed and the two of us became close. We joked, we laughed, and forgot all about why exactly we were here in the first place. I was truly happy and I did all I could to make Maria happy as well. I would tell her many jokes and she would laugh happily at my antics, but as time went on her laughter began to dim. I began to notice this, but as a child I merely thought my jokes were becoming stale. I tried so hard to make her laugh like she did before, but I never realized it wasn’t that she found me unfunny, but it was because she was slowly beginning to lose the ability to laugh.

Soon enough news that I would partake in an operation soon reached me it hit my nerves hard. They said after this operation everything would be over, that I would be able to return to my mother and father and that I didn’t have to remain in the hospital. Even though I was ignorant of the many risks this operation held I was still terrified.

Maria told me that she too was to take a similar operation, but unlike me she showed no fear. Before the doctors whisked me away I asked her why she wasn’t scared. In the end, right before the doctors entered to take me away, she replied with only this:

“It is because this is one of life’s challenges. The trials life places before us are numerous, but I believe there will be a reward through it all. Remember C, to live without happiness is not living at all. You’re brave and strong C…I know you will do great things”

Those were the last words I ever heard from her…

My operation was a success; I was allowed to leave and was free of the things that ailed me. As I awoke I noticed the bed beside me was empty. Through the days of my recovery I waited…waited for my precious friend to return to her bed so we could laugh and joke…but she never returned. The last time I saw her was when her body rested in the coffin that would reside deep in the ground.

I always think back to those times in the hospital, the stories Maria told me and the dreams I had about the future. Thinking back, I never really knew much about Maria and I even question if those wondrous tales she told me were true or not…but regardless they are the tales that I will always hold close to my heart. There are times where I wish I could have done more for her when she was alive, but recalling her cheerful smile and knowing I brought forth that smile all the way until her end…this is what makes me never regret my time with her.

I will never forget those who have left my side...and even if I become a different person...I will always be the same Casey deep inside...I'll walk forward with a bright smile

Laurence nearly squealed like a little girl. It was finally his time to be helpful and to be help by a brother was another excellent point. Immediatly the two headed up towards the girl and immediately helped her out.

A small smile crept across his face when Marina addressed him, but given the situation he couldn't just run up and hug her like he used to do. They needed to get out and fast. With Marina in tow and the others with him they began their trek forward. At this pace things they would never be able to reach to their destination, but suddenly somebody all too familiar show up

"Young sir! I see your successful!" Wallace said running up to them.

"Yes we need to get out of here now" Casey said urgently.

"Right follow me!" Wallace said. Walking with all those officers walking around would be suicide. If they were to travel it would be by the way they got here in the first place. Immediatlely Wallace led them to the car and immediately got them in "Where to young sir" Wallace asked.

"Heliocanthea Garden! FAST" Casey yelled as Wallace nodded and sped off to their destination.

Things were becoming more and more desperate as time went on. The bird lady said she had something planned so he could only place his hopes in her. As he sat there he noticed the sudden bang on the stage and before he could do anything Temperance had already made a move. When she gave the signal, Laurence immediately rose alongside her and went with her up onto the stage. TO see the light again was glorious and he wished to yell praise, but Laurence knew the time of praise would come later.

Officers roamed throughout the area and things were looking grim for Casey. Casey managed to hold up for a good long time but he needed to escape soon. Though he wished not to do it, Casey had to find Wallace and leave the area. As he attempted to leave, the sudden sound of a scream reached his ears and Casey's eye widened. The sound was close and Casey immediately rushed to the source of the sound. The moment he reached his destination his eye widened upon noticing Marina up ahead "You guys!?" Casey said quite shocked.

The knife that Wallace had given him before they set out on their journey towards the school, it rested in Casey's hand as he rushed forward straight at the officer. His granduncle had sacrificed his life to save his and Casey just couldn't give his life away so easily. A gunshot was fired but Casey was not hit, he merely ignored the shot and rushed forward with all his might. His body ached, pleading to stop, but his mind told him to run, to rush forward and kill the threat. Once the officer was in arms length Casey placed all his strength into the hand that held the knife and immediately thrust the knife into the man's chest.

With that single action he did the unforgivable and became a murderer. As the officer collapsed Casey panted as he stared in horror at the stabbed man. This could never be forgiven, it was true that the man tried to kill him and even killed his granduncle, but what did that solve? A man that wished to save the lives of others just died and his family would grieve for him. They would grieve for their loved one just like he did for his granduncle. In their eyes they would see him just like he saw the officer, a person that killed the person they found precious. His body shook and he stood there dumbfound, but the sudden coughing of a dying old man reached the ears of Casey.

Immediately Casey rushed towards the old man's side as the tears ran down his face "Granduncle please! please don't leave me! just endure! please I'll make sure your alive! just don't leave me!" Casey sobbed and pleaded to the old man.

"Ah I wish I could my boy...but my long life has met its end.." the old man said closing his eyes "Casey....you've grown strong my boy, oh how I wish it didn't come to this, oh how I wish I could still be around and help you teens with this chaos, but know I believe in you Casey...know that I believe that you are strong, both you and Heidi...you two will survive this....I am sure" the old man said as tears ran down his face "Thank you Casey, you helped fulfill an old man's death wish. I've seen many people die and though I've tried my best to save other in the end I've failed. Everyday I wished I could save at least one person and when Altair died I felt it was the end for me...that I was worthless" the old man said as he opened his eyes and stared at Casey with a warm smile "but to be able to die saving you...this is how I wished to die" the old man said closing his eyes one more "Wait for me Altair...We'll be kicking each other's ass in the land of the dead" the old man said. And so, with a smile wide upon his face, the Damn Old Man passed away.

"Granduncle Marshall? GRANDUNCLE!" Casey yelled as he embraced the corpse of his granduncle and shed as much tears as possible. "WAKE UP! OPEN YOUR EYES YOU DAMN OLD MAN! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME" Casey yelled as he let out a scream of anguish. He cried and he cried and cried until his body just couldn't possibly handle crying any more. The noise was sure to attract other but he didn't care. He wanted to die, he wished not to cause any more harm. He was weak, he was pathetic, there was no hope for him, but a single voice changed that.

"Your strong and you don't need me watching over you. I want you to march on..."

That single memory gave him strength, it reminded him that his life was not just his own, it belonged to those that loved him and those that had believed in him. Altair and the old man believed he was strong. He couldn't give up his life just like that. The tears stopped and Casey immediately stood up and took one step forward "Farewell...granduncle Marshall" Casey said as he walked away from the corpse of his granduncle and walked up to the officer. Taking off the man's utility belt and placing it on himself Casey left the area that held the two corpses. People were sure to come investigate, but Casey was ready for them. If death awaited him then Casey swore that it sure as hell wouldn't get him easily.

Casey body ached as he moved it forward and glanced around the area. So far as he scanned the area no familiar faces rested around the area, in fact there was a rare amount of people even in the Academy in the first place. Casey could only assume that everybody had fled the school and attempted to find somewhere safe to reside, which was the most logical option for the moment. As he walked the sound of footsteps began to echo throughout the area. The footsteps were advancing closer and closer and a ting of fear reached into Casey. He needed to hide and fast. He immediately attempted for a sprint but the sudden quick movement of his body caused pain to immediately course through his body. Before he knew it the person stood behind him and an all too familiar voice reached him

“Hey kid, you alright over there”

His eyes widened as he turned and faced the old man that had called out to him. “G-granduncle Marshall” Casey stuttered.

“Casey?” the old man said quite shocked as he ran up to him “Dang kid you’ve been beaten down bad” Marshall said

“ME?! You lost a friggin arm” Casey said as he stared at the old man’s battered condition “what are you even doing here?” Casey asked

“Me? Most likely the same reason your hear, trying to find you brats and get you kiddos outta here” the old man said

“So the suspicions are true…officer Marshall” said a unknown voice as a weak looking officer walked forward with a pistol aimed at the two of them “Officer Marshall, the rumor about you aiding the wanted have been confirmed. Please stand aside while I apprehend the boy, he is wanted by the government” said the officer.

The two were stunned and the old man cursed himself severely for this. His hearing was not what it was before, and had it not been for the bombing he would have been sure to hear the steps of the officer “you’re a fool, you think merely sacrificing these teens will accomplish anything!? Pathetic! What kind of men would dare sacrifice children!” the old man said with disdain.

Casey could only stand there silently as he watched the two speak. He chose to come here but was that the best option now? Did he ruin the chance for anybody in the school to escape? Did he ruin things for his granduncle? How many times did Casey have to screw up in order to help?

“The word is burning, people are dying, if it means ending it then so be it” the officer yelled as he pointed his gun straight at Casey “JUST DIE” the officer yelled as a gunshot was fired.

Casey’s eyes widened and everything froze; the bullet that had headed straight at him did not reach him, but instead found its way into the chest of the old man that had stepped in front of him. As the mighty old man’s body fell Casey wished to yell out to the man, he wished to yell out anything, but all that came out was a yell of anguish as the man fell. His body shook as his eyes stared down at the fallen man. His hands and legs shook and the pain that resided in his body burned strong. Another person in his life died, the man died for HIS sake, what would Heidi say to him? It was his entire fault, he was the reason that his granduncle died. His eyes stared up towards the officer that had his pistol pointed at him and his body suddenly began to move. His body ran straight to the officer and his hand reached into his pocket as he did so. This move was suicide, but it was the only thing he could do.

The officer shook, the idea that he took a life had truly sunk in, to merely say you would kill somebody was one thing, but to actually do it was another. It shook him to the core, and before he came to his senses the boy had rushed to him. His arms shook and the moment he saw just what the boy hand fear instantly overcame him. Panicking the trigger was pulled but the target continued to rush forward and pain reached his chest.
