The best thing that has ever come from the Death Note interviews.
I brought Death Note to the school and we all called eachother by nicknames. Mello brought his Death Note to school, was real hush-hush about it, then gave it to Matt for safekeeping. Matt decided to be STUPID and showed it off while it had the names of teachers and students written in it. Ms Nunes found it and freaked out, told us we couldn't bring Death Note merch to school, but could still keep our nicknames. The following day she said we were banned from nicknames of ANY kind, because they might be related to Death Note. She then sent out an email to all teachers permenantly banning Death Note from my school. And she told us we could draw anything but anime, because of course, ALL ANIME is Death Note. So, in short, by bringing DN to the school, I got it banned, despite the fact that I wasn't involved in this situation. My friend at another school got expelled for the same reason, and Mello and Matt were suspended for 3 days. (I'm in seventh, by the way... going into eigth.)

Yeah, Light didn't deserve what he got; Death. Sadly though, it was the only way to get rid of Kira. Light Yagami just ended up having to go with Kira. It's almost as if he's 2 different people. R:FVOG was pretty startling. I always pondered the concept of being a shinigami after death, but never expected them to actually enforce it in the show. I thought for a while after I saw it, and since every couple thousand years, a shinigami has to die, and there are a limited amount of shinigami, using a death note must make the user a shinigami. If not, then shinigami would undoubtably die off, and there would be a huge population explosion. Even if humans do have a preset lifespan, shinigami help by elliminating some humans before theird actual set death and keep the population at balance. Furthermore, if this is the case, and Death Note users dying is the only way to get more shinigami (considering they cannot reproduce) then it's almost as if Death Notes were MEANT to be dropped onto earth. The Shinigami king has one serious line of thought, despite how the other Shinigami treat him like a ****in' ****** xD

xD Yeah, same here. I just find normal people and immerse them in the world of Death Note. Then I have my own group of DEath Note buddies. I even got Death Note banned at one school I went to. Not on purpose, of course. Evident proof of my obsession: Clicky
Okay, see, that's bullshit. It's okay to not like something, but to not like something becase it's widly known? What the hell. I mean, there are some exceptions, but Death Note is an amazing anime with a really good story and plot, which is the best I've ever seen. And I said that before I even watched it. It's not even a fad. It just has increased popularity that, for whatever reason, has picked up in the forums lately. I'm different too! It's what makes people like me... but dude, neglecting great things because you're TRYING to be different? That's just... stupid. Being different loses it's meaning if you try to not like something. It's making yourself into something you aren't. If you aren't naturally different, then you're just living a lie trying to be.
A was mentioned in Another Note, but nothing more was ever said about them other than they killed themselves because of the pressure of having to live up to L's name.
Light had the idea that he was better than everyone else, and because of this, he needed to be brought down. It was his downfall. Light Yagami was a wonderful guy with a strong sense of justice, capable of achieving great things. But the second he picked up that Death Note, the beast called Kira took over and needed to be elliminated. The ending did bring me to tears, I can't say what about it that did, I felt sorry for the person Light used to be. But Kira? Kira was a murderer who thought he was doing right, I suppose you can't blame him, but after everyone constantly chased after him, you'd think he'd get the damn hint.
