Mike is right, it depends on the situation. But at the moment I'm going through something like this, unfortunately, you have to stick through and see what your outcome is, my outcome was that now the person I called my best friend hates me, but that's highly unlikely it's going to happen to you. Just tell them how you feel, and if they get upset, then you must try and calm them down before continueing.
