The theme is chosen well enough, but the chorus just kills the entire charm the rest of song could have imo. I always mix them up with Secret Garden when I hear that name, even though their music is of course entirely different, but yeah I know Savage Garden too. Don't know how I came across them though, or how I came across them for that matter.

Actually, I don't mind cover songs as long as they demonstrate some inspiration or originality. Particularly, clothing a song in an entirely new genre can turn out very well, and it is both rewarding to the artist and a breath of fresh air to fans of that genre. Heard a heavy metal version of Duffy's "Mercy" the other day. Best cover I've heard since a very long time.
