Changed to 10, (Sorry) And thank you :P
Thinking of using frienship levels for certain limits. So having the maximum power for a limit could depend on both CG and Friendship Level (FL). Below is a list of all active players. Feel free to rate them from 1-10 (10 being BFFs) in terms of how well you think your characters get along. If you have not yet interacted with the character, you can not give them a ranking. The 7th Realm (A Game of Chance) [Tentative title] A Risk/Game of Thrones/board games inspired roleplay where it's more focused on the characters in the middle of the war than the factions themselves. Might make an interest thread later, but the premise is that 6 nations are fighting for their own reasons, dominion over a land that mysteriously disappeared 20 years ago. It has now reappeared with riches, dangers, and secrets to discover. This works like a strategy game where 6 roleplayers will be chosen as acting leaders of the nations, and I will be an unbiased 3rd party behind all actions requiring a roll of the dice as well as advisor to each nation. Each faction has it's own "Style" of soldier and way of life, from pirates, to warriors, to archers, to survivalists. (Other ideas found here)
Well, it was "KHV's Top 10," so yeah, definitely a popularity contest. (No Xehanort. Shame on you all) I guess Lea get's points for actually summoning one, but I wouldn't have put him on if not for the votes of others.
As good as her intentions were,Rapunzel could only look back and see what had become of her so called mother. Her hair had grey and wrinkles were becoming more and more noticeable. So very old, and aging rapidly since Rapunzel had not kept her young since she left. Her incantation not only healed the wounded, but prevented people from aging as well. Looking upon that face now, she would have happily gone with them. But something was keeping her back... the knowledge of who she really was, her parents, everything. "I need more answers!" Rapunzel insisted. "And they are yours for the receiving," Vanitas answered, swinging open the door. The girl's eyes intensified at the sight of the boy. She looked over his should to see that Gothel was gone and only her cloak remained, accompanied buy a small cloud of white dust. "What did you to her?" she asked softly, with fear in her voice. "Aged into dust as the saying goes. And why would you care? She lied to you. Betrayed you, and didn't even care about you. All she wanted was the hair on your head. Eighteen years of your life disappeared," in his hand he held the satchel that Rapunzel hid from Flynn. He held it up and took out the crown he had stolen from the castle. He held it up from his viewpoint to see how the crown would look on her head. " A life you lost because you were used. And now you will be used again... such a pitiful life for a princess of heart. But a life of use all the same." Rapunzel stepped back and held her hands. "I'm not going anywhere with you." Vanitas threw the crown to the side and walked towards her. "That wasn't a request." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nequa's helmet stood in one place for a few seconds to take in he hit Ananta had just performed. "Well that was disappointing," she finally spoke. Her helmet repositioned itself back to the girl on the floor. "Of course since I'm a girl too, I'm just as likely to hold a grudge, so I guess it's my turn to hit you!" She pulled back her fist which was slowly building with dark energy to the point where it was fully charged and ready to fire at a moment's notice. "Fire!" A fire spell was cast behind Nequa and exploded upon hitting the back of her right shoulder. She sighed loudly before powering down her fist and standing up to see who had interrupted her. She turned to see that Mizu had woken up and was out of the containment field. Merlin too was free and both eyed her down with intimidating glares. "Well, some one woke up cranky." Mizu pouted and looked angrily towards Nequa. The apprentice tilted her head and folded her arms. "Now why does that face look so familiar?" she questioned. "It's called being serious! People and worlds are no joke! They have homes and families and you can't just do what you want without even thinking about them! They are the true heart of each world." "Well, I can't seal people now, can I?... Or can I?... I'll have to try that later..." Mizu was not amused and charged. "No, that's just what she wants!" Merlin could see that she was being baited, but Mizu wouldn't listen to her continuing to toy with them. As the small wielder charged towards the apprentice, Nequa made a quickstep behind her and chopped the back of her neck, causing her to pass out again. She stumbled for a moment before falling forward, being caught in the arm of the very assailant her knocked her out. Surprisingly, she was handled with care and tossed gently over her shoulder. "I do so love getting the bonus prizes!" she exclaimed. "Now, now, see here! You-You-You put down that child or I'll-" "Firagolem." Nequa spoke out and snapped her fingers which caused a giant fire golem to appear behind wart. Like the ice golem, it had a similar body shape, but was consumed in flames. Wart held tightly onto the sword, still trying to hold it upright. "Now YOU see here. I'm going to take the girl and sword. In exchange, you keep the boy, dog, and keykiddies. Unless you want the alternative." The golem took a step to advance towards the boy. Merlin examined his options carefully. No one was experienced enough to take her on. His magic was more towards the pursuit of knowledge than combat. He was prepared to raise his arms, but he knew he couldn't win this fight. At best he could have them recover in hopes that both could be retrieved at a later time. He lowered his hands from the casting standpoint. "Forgive me child," he whispered. "Compromise. Gotta love it." Nequa walked towards Wart and looked down at the sword. "Sword Please." Wart looked down at the sword and off to Merlin. He had never seen him look so worried, meaning he should fear this woman just as much. With a sad expression, he looked at the hilt one more time, before lifting with all his might to hand it over. "Your co-operation in this hostage situation was most gratifying. Five stars to you!" She tapped the tip of his nose with her finger and took the sword, watching the fire golem fade as he did so. "I look forward to the improvement!" she yelled back, walking through the corridor with sword and girl in hand.
I recall a few years back the they didn't want to return to TV, (Link) but it's nice to see they changed their mind. Hopefully they don't change the theme by too much. Update: They almost have half the money pledged now!
Rabies and mentalmen, we have just hit the 18 player mark, thus doubling last year's player tally! This of course means the grand prize winner will get either the Kingdom Key or $70 to spend on the KH merchandise of their choice! But don't feel like you need to stop there! All players are welcome to test their stuff, and their is still plenty of time to accept people. And who knows? Might even add a few digital prizes! (Or not, I don't know, I have to discuss stuff amongst the higher ups. I'm just the staff dog here) Keep the sign up train rolling!
~MISSION COMPLETE~ ~MISSION COMPLETE~ Cat leveled up! (19) Etrius leveled up! (20) All stats increased! Learned Cure! Learned Stopra! Learned Second Wind! Glen leveled up! (20) All stats increased! Learned Fira! Learned Stop! Learned Second Wind! Kaida leveled up! (17) Learned Cure! With the battle one, clouds of smoke dispersed from the doors in the form of tiny cloud-like heartless with bright yellow eyes. With the possessor heartless freed from the doors, the creatures that were part of the frame had now faded, revealing the same wooden doors they encountered before. The battle was most definitely not an illusion, but the way things had just transpired with the sudden calm almost made it seem so. Regardless, Rapunzel was on her bare feet and looking around to make sure everyone was okay. They were still a bit dazed and injured, so she quickly ran by them and tossed enough of her blonde hair so that strands would fall on each person. "Flower, gleam and glow, Let your power shine, Make the clock reverse, Bring back what once was mine. Heal what has been hurt, Change the Fates' design, Save what has been lost, Bring back what once was mine… What once was mine!" With the healing incantation, her hair glowed and as she had already demonstrated, healed any remaining or bruised injuries. Any ailments affecting the party were now removed. "Everyone alright?" she asked. Looking around, no one seemed to have been afflicted anymore, which was good news for her. Anything to keep this train moving. Her mother was in trouble and she still needed their help to defeat the masked boy. "Great!" she acknowledged, rushing to the door. Fearing any traps, she opened it with caution, but became quickly hesitant at the sound of her mother's voice. It was angry and hostile. Last time she had heard that tone was when Rapunzel asked to go see the floating lights. Her mother forbid it and sparked this whole adventure. And now, Rapunzel kept a big green eye in between the crack of the door to see what her mother was discussing with the boy. They were both on ground level, with Gothel looking unamused. "We had a deal!" she argued. "I still don't see what the issue is now. I take the girl, you keep the hair. Easy peasy." "You don't get it! Her hair's healing powers won't work if it's cut! the hair is useless to me unless it's attached. Why do you think I kept after her all this time?! Its the only way the incantation works!" Part of Rapunzel broke inside after hearing those words. The person she wanted so hard to please only kept her for her powers. The same powers she claimed other people were after. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Tsk, tsk, that was just embarrassing." Nequa looked around past Gilgamesh, to all the recently fallen wielders. Stratos, Ananta, Kel, Beuce and even Goofy were all down on the floor, slowly recovering from combat. "I mean like... I'm embarrassed for you. You held up your swords and that 'I can totally take her,' and then I did stuff and you couldn't attack. And it was fun, but sad. It was fad." She walked along the bodies of each wielder slowly making her way back to Wart. She was about to pass Ananta, but hesitated. Last she saw, the girl was stabbed by her own shadow. One of Nequa's more favored attack. She crouched down to the fallen girl and tilted her head. "Speaking as a fellow girl, I know you're probably holding a grudge against me right now. Also speaking as a girl, I know it's not healthy to hold grudges. Especially after that travesty. Like, any items you used were just WASTED from that slaughter." Nequa was purposely trying to anger her. "Point being; sucking that bad sucks. So for this one time offer, I give you, little miss green apple hair a one time punch to my face!" She moved her chin to the left and gave her a window of opportunity.
Pretty much this. Will create a mass convo (2, if more than 20 sign up) and gather availability, skype names, the works. In short, you'll be contacted via KHV to set things up after the 13th.
Still have under 3 weeks remaining and already 13 players have registered after the first weekend. This pleases me... First post has been edited with all the posted entrants.
Problem resolved, Thread locked.
1 week left for submissions. So far I got 4. Please don't make @Ars Nova sad :/
Aye. 3 Weeks are to give an opportunity to sign up. This gives me about a week to people the matches and make the necessary requirements for questions as well as making more if there need be.
Sign ups end on the 13th, but the actual tournament wlll begin in late June/Early July. This gives me time to set up a few things.
When writing as children, I try to see the world as open minded as I can. (depending on how the kid was raised) I don't make them stupid, but I do tend to write them with a more curious vernacular. Unafraid to ask questions, and at the same time feeling like they know enough (At least against adults) I also let things affect them more. Make them question themselves or whatever just happened. Because like I said, they're curious.
Out of the 2000-2009 CGI films from Disney, (Meet the Robinsons, Chicken Little, Bolt, Dinosaur) Meet the Robinsons is in fact the one with the most heart in my opinion. The film is all over the place, but I'll get to that in a sec. Like you said, it's a really upbeat, light-heaerted film. Looking at the poster alone, it just explodes with color. I wasn't too fond of the character designs, but I got used to it I guess as the film continues. But the redeemable thing about the entire film is definitely the theme it tries to convey. (Which I guess counts as a spoiler so I won't mention it) The main character; Lewis, reminded me of an animated Johnathan Lipnicki (In his younger years) Not really that much about this character aside from the lesson he learns and the amazing things he sees. Yeah he's a growing orphan who's timid, nice, and inventive, so it's really easy to sympathize what he goes through, and I think that's okay here. The character is developed enough to warrant emotion as well as relate to what the message is. The other main kid; Wilbur, is like that cool kid in your grade school class that always gets in to trouble. Not all that much to get into, but he does spark the adventure, so he does his job. The robinsons themselves are definitely an odd bunch. But the thing with introducing them all in one flash is that nothing gets to sink in. Everything is just scene after scene after scene after scene. No breathing room and no pace. Which AGAIN, might be okay here. The family is clearly nuts and eccentric, so it would be normal for them to get all crazy and non-stop, like a roller coaster ride. I do, however think they accept Lewis far too quickly after just a day. At the same time, it is a bit overbearing when they all wig out on screen. The villain is... well, he's incompetent enough to get a laugh, and it's really easy to follow this guy. He always need help and his plans more often then not fail in the pursuit of his endgame. So in short, while I do like that it had it's heart in the right place, you don't really get to enjoy it until the end. It is exactly like a roller coaster. Starts slow and builds up, then just goes crazy fast until it slows down and allows you to take everything in. It's a nice film and all, but I wouldn't put myself through watching it again. My favorite parts lie in the end where things goes full circle.
Weirdos and gamers of the forums; I come to you with a chance to show off your useless Kingdom Hearts knowledge! (I only say useless because it has no adaptable usefulness outside the series itself.. yet) What is the Trivia Tournament? The Trivia tournament is a special event, where site members face off one another to compete for a special prize. Entrants will be tested on their Kingdom Hearts Trivia knowledge. Many of the details can be listed from last year's thread , but the fun has been double in terms of format and trivia. New improvements have been made since then including a live soundtrack, custom buzzers, and a host that will bait and crush your spirits! How will it work? Contenders will compete by answering Short answer and multiple choice answer questions. Short answer going to the fastest buzzer, and multiple choice to individual players. Each game will consist of 3 players with 25 questions total. The task is simple; Get the most points in the game to guarantee a spot in the next round. Each game leading up to the final round will follow a typical routine. ➨ Introduction A small introduction to each of the players with some small chatter to help liven things up. ➨ Speed Round Players will compete in a reflex face off, where the faster finger gets to answer first. Each correct answer will give the player 1 point. There are only 10 questions with 10 seconds to answer. ➨ Intermission A small break for players to relax and brace themselves for the more difficult questions. ➨ Multiple Choice This is where the difficulty rises. Each player will be asked 5 multiple choice questions in a rotating order. (Starting first with the player in last place) Choosing from four possible answers, the player must answer within 15 seconds. If they take too long, or their answer is incorrect, the question can be passed to another player, who will then gain 1 point if answered correctly. Last year we had a total of 9 contestants, and we're hoping to do better this year! I'm willing to up the prize ante depending on the amount of people who enter. How do I sign-up? Simple, filling out the form below, you can reserve a spot among the others who have chosen to participate. (Hurry fast! Sign ups end on June 13th!) For Birth by sleep, yes it would be lovely to hear a remastered soundtrack because the new tracks were only heard through PSP quality audio. Granted I'm sure it sounds better if reserved outside the PSP codecs, but when you look at something like Vector to the Heaven on the DS, you think; "Wow, this is a really great track." And then you hear it on the PS3, remaster and all, and think; "Wow, I can hear every instrument and so much more quality outside the confines of the portable system. It sounds so much more amazing now."
Wart grasped the hilt of the sword with such a surprised expression. He looked above as a glimmer of light dawned on him from the dark clouds. As just a young boy, he found it odd that it only happened when his hands were on the sword. His heart was racing as he didn't know what to do. what would happen if he pulled the sword? He knew it was there for a while, but no one had ever actually removed it from the stone. He didnt know what consequences would happen, but the purple armored woman looked onto him with intrigue, making him even more uneasy. "Well, well, the champion reveals himself... Now go on and just bring the sword to me," she held out her hand in the most gentle way, as if she were a mother offering her hand to her child. Wart was too unnerved to think rationally. All he knew was that she put away too high caliber mages with just a simple spell. Without even thinking, he pulled his hand away from the stone, with his han still grasping the sword. Far back enough that he ended up sliding the blade out without any effort for the tip of the blade to hit the ground. He wasn't fully strong enough to lift it with more ease. The light that shone down on him before shined bright as the new and future king had pulled the sword. Wart was too afraid to notice though. He simply tried to lift the heavy sword in Nequa's direction to show that he was armed. "Well that's embarrassing," Gilgamesh grunted from his fallen backside. Merlin looked in astonishment. "By jove... and here I am, almost having doubts." As a seer of the future, Merlin could foretell many things, but the boy pulling out the sword was a surprise event o his experienced eyes. Mizu was still sleeping, but fluttered her eyes slightly from the sense of wonder that had just happened. Nequa attempted to step forward to Wart, but was cut off by Goofy who held his righteous shield in front of the boy. "Well you wouldn't be heroes if you didn't try to stop me..." she summoned a keyblade and twirled it around. "Get out your timers boys! I want to see how fast I can do this!" MISSION START! Good to hear he returns for the role he was born to voice. Just wouldn't be the same without his parrot voice going "JAFAH!" I do hope others make their returns as well for an extra bit of dialogue 2.5 adds. News for the collection has been pretty slow lately, but it's great to see it pick up.
