Aislinn wasn't the only one who had been surprised by the amount of fish Luna had gotten in the time it had taken him to gather those sticks, there was also the speed in which Aislinn had cook the fish. All of which had gone a lot faster, and much easier, than he was expecting it to go honestly. Once everything was ready he grabbed himself one fish and took a bite out it. The saltiness of the fish toppled with the hint of orange added at the last minute had done well to bring out the full flavor of the fish and was easily noticed by the 'mmm' noise that Kel had made following his first bite. "So, what's next on the camping agenda?" Gathering firewood was about as far as his knowledge went. They could always resort to just talking though. Always an option. Posts: 24/31
With his jump Kel realized that he'd overestimated his jump and was just short of reaching the branch. The fact that he was close was promising though and prompted his next action. He stuck his keyblade into the tree and jumped onto it and leaped up towards the branch he'd tried to grab before. With that extra boost, he was able to make it up to the branch. From there it had taken him getting up to the next one before he could start cutting down some of the larger branches with his keyblade, that he'd called back to him once situated. With three fairly sizeable branches in hand and some of the other ones down at the base of the tree, Kel had gathered everything that he needed for the fire. Getting down the tree was much easier and faster than climbing it, which lead to Kel getting back to the camp rather quickly. "You guys work fast." Tents and fish have already been gathered and here he was with nothing but stick and branches in his hand. Posts: 23/31
At first Kel had started to go about collecting stick just like he said he was going to do, but after grabbing a handful of the ones lying on the ground he noticed that they were extremely thin. Way to thin to be actual firewood. Hmm, that brought up another problem. Sure he could've started chopping down a tree, but he wasn't going to start chopping down any of the trees here. Maybe some of the branches would be suitable. There were much larger the higher up and after briefly measuring the distance from where he was to the nearest branch, he could make it there in few strides. Posts: 22/31
"You helped us out, least we could do is to return the favor." Zephyr said, smiling as his hands found their way into his pockets. He was starting to feel a bit more at ease about this whole thing. Even if the trial was something that they would have to deal with, later on, it was still a ways off and not the prime concern right now. There was still something else on his mind though, something he would likely bring up later on with Midarah. At the very least I should tell her about it. For now, such thoughts were cast aside until they actually got back to the guild hall.
There hadn't been any moments of awkwardness in which Chrono would need to try and keep the conversation between the two of them going. It was still awkward at times though Torrin's story had been interesting to listen to, especially since Chrono was pretty sure Torrin had just described Santa Claus. Guess the realm of darkness had some of the same beliefs that they had. The star-shaped fruit was interesting to hear about, but not something he could think to add something on. Tinarah's response though was something he'd chosen not to think about. Chrono nodded in Torrin's direction and grabbed his plate of practically finished food and placed it in the dish. Naturally, he'd washed it as the one who used it. Other than that there wasn't much left for him to get thus making him ready. "Thanks for everything." Chrono said. Torrin had said that there was 'no answer' when he had tried contacting them earlier. He didn't want to think of the worse, but they should hurry so that the worry doesn't come to pass. Thus Chrono had been the first one to go through the portal.
They were all in agreement on this camping trip and on Luna's guidance, they ventured into the woods. He gave a quick wave to Nanaki and the Natives before doing so. After a while, they had reached a spot deemed suitable for them to set up camp and Aislinn had volunteered to start a fire. Despite not knowing much about camping, Kel has seen people chopping logs to make firewood. They could just magic up some flames, but he didn't either any of them wanted to start a forest fire. "I'll grab some sticks and stuff to help with the fire." Kel didn't have to go far too as there a fair amount of stick just laying around the trees near them. Posts: 21/31
Everything that they had control over had been dealt with, John being healed to the best of Aislinn's ability, Ratcliffe being dragged away by the Englishmen and not a single trace of the heartless left. Usually, at this point, they would leave this world and reconvened with everyone else. Usually, they also knew where everyone else was and this time neither of those were options that they had. "Sure, nows as good as a time as any." Kel said, having this downtime felt slightly odd, but no point in letting it go to waste. Posts: 20/31
Kel did falter from his position despite Ratcliffe's threats. There wasn't much concern in him about making good on his word to hang them and those threats were shortlived as Ratcliffe soon found himself both bound and gagged by his fellow Englishmen. This did actually allow Kel to lower his keyblade and look towards Aislinn. "That's good." He muttered at the fact that John's slowly improving condition. Posts: 19/31
Gale felt a small twinge of guilt having heard what Raelyn said after Dot answered her and it was namely due to her emphasis on 'you guys'. Though there was also some curiosity lying behind that guilt. It was hard for him to deny that he was curious as to what that memory shard had shown her. Gale didn't think he should risk asking about it though. Maybe later when they weren't chasing after another memory shard. Speaking of, they'd seemingly caught it when they were pushed back by a gust a wind. Gale had been quick to use his arm to protect his face from the force of the wind, but he could still feel the cutting affects that the wind had had on him. He didn't want to risk taking out his spellbook against this wind to try and find a solution and even if he did, Rex had demonstrated that he too was at a disadvantage in this situation. It took both effort and some assistance from Raelyn's own water tornado for him to be able to start running again. "So Dot, if this guy uses wind what would be a good way to counter it?" Personally, Gale would've thought earth or anything grounded, but the closest they had to the was Jaz and Evie's plants. Depending on the logic of this game, those could still work just the same.
The horseman had still managed to get away after being knocked off his horse by their trinity limit which bothered Kel for a few seconds before remembering there was a more pressing matter to deal with. Amidst their own battle, it looked like the one between the natives and the Englishman had come to a standstill with neither side taking any losses. As surprising as that was, it was also the much preferred ending to this whole and Kel allowed himself to relax. A loud gunshot pierced through the silence and Kel immediately tensed back up. Kel immediately turned his gaze towards the one person still holding a gun. Ratcliffe "On it!" He made his way quickly through the crowd of Englishmen that were crowded around Ratcliffe and recalled his keyblade to have it aimed right towards him. "If you know what's good for you, you'll just stand there and be quiet!" Posts: 18/31
Kel had returned to his comrades' side right as the reluctancy barrier had formed up and while he was shut out from attacking right now, there was still something he could do. It was something he's never done before thus making there room for doubt as to how it would turn out, but it was now or never. His keyblade raised into the air and light started to flow out and into a sphere above the trio. "Let's give this a try." Kel initiated Trinity Limit Posts: 17/31
Well the fact that Aislinn had gotten attacked as opposed to Luna, the one he was guarding, did suck. Despite that, Kel retaliated in kind by attacking with another barrier surrounding him. Kel used Barrier Surge Posts: 16/31
With all the attacks that had dealt with the horseman it looked like it was getting close to the fights end and Kel got the feeling that it was preparing for something big like last time. He planted himself firmly in front of Luna. "Let's see you try to attack her this time." Kel taunted, bringing up his keyblade. Kel used Cover on Luna Posts: 15/31
"Don't worry about it." Kel said. With all the attacks from the horseman she was taking, Kel was more focused on her well being. With the fall of cherry blossoms, Kel had unleashed one of his more stronger attacks. Kel used Zantesuken Post: 14/31
The green aura that had washed over him was both refreshing and much needed. The extra effort it was taking to stay on his feet had been alleviated shortly after. Even the wind doubled the sense of relief. "Thanks." He said to his teammates before striking with another flame covered fist. Kel used Fist Bump Posts: 13/31
Kel stumbled back after taking the full hit from the horseman's sword. His legs shook during his attempts to stay on his feet. "Ow, definitely felt that one." Finally, not safe from the risk of falling down to the ground, Kel moved in for another attack of his keyblade. Kel used Aerial Slam Posts: 12/31
Kel wasn't quite sure how it was that Luna was still standing after that attack, but the fact that she was was a relief. Kel then armed himself and attacked the horseman while being coated in a barrier of light. His strike was true and Kel himself had returned to his comrades side. Kel used Barrier Surge Posts: 11/31
Even if Chrono didn't want to admit it, he couldn't deny that letting Boreas and Take handle things themselves was better than the alternative of just putting a cap on the issue for the time being. In fact, he didn't like it just as much as he didn't want to admit it. "If you say so." had been his way to concede before taking a quick sip of the hot chocolate that Take had given him. With that, he feels back into silence as Tinarah continued her attempts to converse with Torrin. Certainly not smooth sailing, but they were still talking. Which was good in itself.
I shall neither confirm or deny my snark
The time given to them by the magic barrier was put to good use. It gave them to asset the situation and further plan for their next attacks. As the barrier was still standing, he couldn't attack yet himself. He then brought up his keyblade in defense. Kel, in a surprise turn of events, guarded Posts: 10/31
