During the onslaught of attacks from the heartless, three darkballs in particular had evidently made it their goal to single out Chrono in particular and collided into the keyblade wielder. One crashing into him was painful enough, but three at once packed one hell of a punch. Finding himself knocked onto his back, Chrono quick scrambled back to his feet and swatted away one of the darkballs lingering around him. In this time another one had bite him right on his shoulder, in which he clenched his teeth in pained, but stabbed his keyblade into the heartless. The last one itself had been struck down during its next attack. His fighting had grabbed the attention of a small group of neoshadows and Chrono did not want to deal with them right now. His keyblade was aimed right now them and he cast judgement upon them all. HP: 64/85 AP: 28/54+10 MP: 7/30 DP: 3/3 Heartless defeated: 4 Darkballs (1 va Combo Plus) 3 Neoshadows (Through the power of Judgement)
Zephyr hadn't been expecting Midarah to walk in like she had, but it made things easier. "Yeah, its about the incident with the magic council." He'd glanced back at Thea before continuing. "I don't know how much you were told about, but shortly after they had arrived they had made it a point to apprehend four of the people who had helped us. Three because they were 'helping' the mayor and the other because this could've been a 'ploy' of hers." He managed to have enough strength to make air quotes at least, probably meant he could at the very least walk as well. "I don't agree with this so called 'investigation' of theirs. They only did what they had too at the time."

Zephyr nodded at Cera as slowly sat up. By the time he was completely upright, he'd placed both his hands on his lap and sat there for a bit. "It wasn't at first, but when you find out the mayor is sacrificing kids to a spider demon makes it so." The mayor was still missing and likely had a grudge against them for ruining his plans. It didn't mean much to him alone, but Xiyln words were still fresh in his mind. Someone was targeting the guild and the mayor might be working with them. "They did, but you weren't in trouble. They weren't mad anyone either." Granted he got the impression that Laharl was always irritated about something from the way he interacted with them. When Storm had spoken to him, Zephyr too gave him a nod. It wasn't often that he'd seen it speak to him. He then saw the way Thea was sitting and spoke once again. "I was going to speak to Midarah about them, if you want to come with."
That was good to hear. He'd assumed that burning she was feeling was similar to the pain he felt after over using his own magic. He'd made a slight movement to adjust himself, seeing as he wasn't going to be allowed to get up for the tome being. Might as well make himself comfortable while he laid here. "They're fine, no one else got hurt." Zephyr planned to see what Midarah thought about everything that had happened with the magic council, nothing about it sat right with him. Which brought him to his next point. "I did all this to myself, don't worry."
As Zephyr's body slowly regained it strength through a natural process, Cera's magic had help to speed up the process of his strength returning to him. After a while he started to stir, slowly waking up and hearing voices. Well a voice, Thea's to be exact. He had regained enough of his senses to realize who was speaking right. Though, the only thing he had clearly heard was her last question. "Yeah, she's gone." Zephyr tried sitting up and was quickly pushed back to a laying position by Cera. At least he was able to move around without feeling any pain. Not well enough to actually walk around, not if Cera could help it. He turned his head to look in Thea's direction. "How are you feeling though?"
"Sorry about that." Zephyr already tended to feel bad when someone worried about him, but Midarah was a special case. When it came to her, he hated hearing that she was worried even if it was something he had no control over. Still, all things considered it could've been much worse for them. "Alright, I'll do what I can." Zephyr said, taking a step forward. The instant he'd made that step it felt like all the strength left his body. He couldn't even stand, let alone move. "Oh crap." Zephyr realized what was happened as his vision blurred, making the last thing he saw was the ground getting closer to his face.
Chrono glanced around at everyone others had continued to step for as to volunteer to teach Mora how to use a keyblade. They were serious about this weren't they? Maybe it was just him and he just wasn't seeing a good enough reason to do so. As far as he was concerned, any obligations that they had to this world had been settled once they'd done away with the extractor's core. "You sure about this?" Truth be told he didn't see any of them as good teachers, well maybe Alder, but Cerdic on the other hand he had no faith in.
The very moment the various set of heartless eyes had appear before them, Chrono called forth his keyblade and readied himself for their attack. When the heartless had actually made their move, Thundaga had been the first spell he used and the resulting sparks of lightning left the tip of his keyblade and cut through 8 of the Blue Rhapsodies. This had grabbed the attention of the Yellow Operas who all looked towards Chrono and started charging an attack to hit him. The few attacks were easy to avoid and the rest didn't have the chance to attack as he had started cutting through them. HP: 85/85 AP: 2/54 MP: 7/30 DP: 3/3 Heartless Defeated 8 Blue Rhapsodies through Thundara 12 Yellow Operas (3 through Combo Plus) Heartless Remaining 58 Darkballs (12AP) 48 Neoshadows (16AP)
He sighed in defeat, he didn't think that the magic council would be all that flexible in listening to them. The fact that his last name sparked no reactions wasn't surprising either, but maybe it was a good thing that his father hadn't done anything to get the attention of the Magic Council. Zephyr felt a bit of surprise when Izra had smiled at him, but when that brief feeling had faded and he returned the smile. "No problem, it wouldn't have gone as well if it wasn't for you." As she was escorted away, Zephyr noted the way that Laharl spoke about Thea and it didn't take a genius to figure out to he wasn't fond of her. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." ~We Time Skipping in this Mission~ When all was said and done, Zephyr nodded to Gavin and they got on a carriage with Thea in tow. Contrary to how he felt and the way his body was basically screaming at him to rest, he was the one that carried Thea to the carriage and back to the front door of the guild.
The magic council wasn't being the most helpful with their already late arrival and now trying to apprehend Maliel and the others. "If you can't take her word, then take ours. Maliel only did what she did because she had no choice. If she hadn't then things would've been worse for them." Zephyr then motioned to Izra. "Not to mention Izra had a large part in helping us. The way I see it, whatever 'charges' you have on them has been mitigated by what they've done to help us out." While there was some semblance of a point in his statement, he doubted that the magic council would just listen to him that easily.
His blade had struck its target and she'd left an ominous warning for them. Zephyr removed his sword once her grip had loosen on it, and gave a warning of his own, "Let them try, I'm not the only capable member our guild has." Seemingly at his limit, the flames of his making had vanished while his armor and blade chipped away as embers. His breathing was haggard, though he managed to keep standing. For the time being anyway. At the arrival of the Magic Council, Zephyr had looked in their direction. "Zephyr Siegend, Divine Rose." Truthfully he didn't see much reason to give his last name, but the off chance that someone might recognize it was worth saying it. "I'm fine, we need to worry about Thea right now." There was pain with each step he took, but he made his way over to Thea regardless of the pain. He took one more look at the magic council, then turn his attention back to Thea to give her a drop of the an antidote.
Being as focused as he was on the demon, he spotted the legs and avoided their stab. As for the venom, he blocked it with his forearm as a reflex and thought nothing of it at first. Hearing it sizzle though it, Zephyr quickly enchanted his armor with thicker armor while swiping it off. Pain had coursed through his body as a result of him using another variant of his magic, this time being stronger, but he bared with it and took one step forward to slice off the two legs that had just materialized on Xilyn and with another step he pivoted on his heel, spun around and slice upward at her chest.
Zephyr had been fully prepared to block the oncoming wave of poison as dodging it would be a harder task when the wall of shadows formed to block it. Soon as the attack had died down, Zephyr was on the attack. He cut across the wall and ran straight for Xilyn, flames moving to dance across his blade as he got close enough to slice with his right sword and follow up with a thrust from his left one. His actions were both fluid and focused, meaning one of them was sure to hit.
His own struggles did nothing to get himself free, thus he was relieved to feel the wind blow past him thus free him from the webbing. He had all of a few seconds to compose himself before a scream was heard. Thea's scream. The demon had gotten to her and despite Thea getting herself free, she was now surrounded in gold flames? The flames were unmistakably golden surrounded Thea as she now lay still on the ground. She wasn't dead, fortunately he knew that much, however his frustration had reached its Zenith and what inhibitions that were holding him back were released, allowing that energy to be unleashed. "Memory Make Armament!" Flames had danced around Zephyr, covering his body and leaving him cloaked in armor and he leap forward, catching Xilyn off guard with a knee to the face. Zephyr landed, his eyes focused on the demon that was still reeling from his last attack. "If you want them you'll have to go through me." Flames of his own design had ignited in both of his hands then took the shape katana's of matching lengths. "And that's not going to happen again." Pain had started to course through his body as a result of using three variations of his magic, but it was ignored. He could fight through it. Long as the demon was slayed he would fight through it. Once more the gap between the demon and himself was close when Zephyr went in for another attack with his swords.
There was a growl of frustration when Zephyr spotted Xilyn easily getting past them and over to where Selena was. A single step was all he'd managed to take before the combination of webs of venom caused to him detour his course. The hail of assault didn't stop there and Zephyr had formed a shield to defend himself. Thea was dealing with the demon, but the hordes of spiders going down towards Maliel were different. As soon as he stopped feeling attacks against his shield, he morphed it into a sword and aimed it at the web. It became engulf in flames midway through its trip and cleaved through the web she was stuck on and whatever spiders may have been nearby. Unfortunately this left Zephyr open to have his right arm being webbed as well as his foot. "Dammit." His struggles were more focused on getting his foot free for the time being.
Zephyr had been on guard the moment Thea started walking towards the Mayor, even if he did have faith in her he didn't doubt that something would occur after Thea made her move. It was a gut feeling he had and one he was fully willing to act on. Then Maliel had screamed. He spotted Izra falling to the ground next to them. He could feel his anger grow and his magic surge throughout his body at what was behind them. How? How did she get there, he didn't feel any sort of presence behind them. His instincts were feel him to attack, to fight the demon that was before them to stop all this. However the situation itself was in ill favor to do that and he knew that. When the four spiders than had been blown back by Gavin's wind magic had bounced off the webs around them and right for him, Zephyr had made his move by cutting them all down in a single strike from his flame coated sword. "Hold her still." He may not have been able to help with the physical injury, but the poison he was able to deal with. He grabbed the vial that he'd gotten from Selena, opened it and dripped some of it past her lips and into her system. Zephyr stood back up and once the vial was away, went back to cutting away the spiders that leap towards him and Gavin. All while keeping an eye on Xislyn.
"No, its just us." Kel answered. Despite how they described the weapons, they couldn't have been talking about a keyblade. Maybe they meant John's weapon that he was holding. Still first savages and now white devils, neither of which had given off any form of non hostilities.
Chrono nodded along to Torrin's explanation to show that he was following along and he was understanding it. The analogy did help put something that he'd only just learned about in a manner he could understand quickly. After he'd caught both the gloves and coat, Chrono looked at them with a raised eyebrow. He had doubts as to how articles of clothing were going to provide protection against darkness, but apparently it was made from a special material. Special enough to get Edna to not care about the designs at least. While slipping the gloves and coat over his costume, Chrono heard what else had been added about the hooded woman he was recently told about. The same kind of coat that they were wearing now? Certainly would stick out more that they knew that. I did? He didn't voice his confusion and despite that he was glad that it happened, however he did anyway. Simply put, walking around when they got to the heart of the world was off putting. It felt like there was something on him, but every time he glanced he saw nothing. Nothing Torrin had really helped with this feeling, only made it worse. Regardless he nodded and stayed on guard, even as both Take and Tinarah had shifted in closer.
