Chrono had figured that B.E.N wouldn't remember, but it was still worth a shot. Since that was not the case, Chrono idely looked at the rest of the markings until he heard Jim. Company? None of his immediate thoughts were good. He took a peek outside himself and seeing Silver himself standing outside was precisely what he didn't want to see. A silver lining shown when Illiana asked about a backdoor and, according to B.E.N, the did have one. Once again Jim had called for them and Aria gave them a update on what was going on outside. Wanting to confirm this with his own eyes, Chrono peeked outside and very soon spotted both Master Choma and Take, guns aimed towards them just as Aria had said. The idea of using the backdoor to escape faded with the hostages before shown to them. Little choice was left for them but to comply and stepped outside of the hideout. "So much for not being found." He muttered to himself.
The heartless that had surrounded them had dwindled, which made progressing under Mora's guidance an easier task. The journey behind her had taken them back to the cave. Chrono was reminded of when they first left the cliff and his lack of memory didn't quite bother him as much as it did now as the extent of what he did know was lost to him. He was happier when compared to how he was now. All that aside, there was still the task at hand with the large quantity of rocks blocking the path to the extractor. Chrono crouched down in front of the nearest one and started moving it out of the way before doing the same with the next one. Starting with the ones that didn't look to be all that heavy made it easier for him to quickly get to another rock.
The unimpressed manner in which the man had introduced himself as 'the guy who hits stuff" upon walking down the stairs equaled how unimpressed Zephyr was upon seeing him. He hadn't been expecting anything grand or special, not knowing what to expect made making that presumption easier for him. Pushing those first impressions to the back of his mind for the time being, Zephyr made a mental refresher of the name that Dylan had mentioned. The Fisheries, no surprise that he's never heard of it given how little he explored outside his range of typical places. If it was as questionable as Dylan claims it to be, it certainly would be a good thing that that was the case.
Give it some thought, and come meet us. Lumen did in fact give it some thought and the result of said thoughts were the exact reason behind Lumen currently heading back towards the inn. He had with him the traditional weapons that a witcher used on his back. He wasn't heavily armed given the task at hand, but well enough that he felt comfortable and not ill prepared for this whole thing. "I hope you weren't waiting long." His eyes scanned around the room, taking in the faces of those that were already there. It was an interesting looking group to say the least.
Certainly sounds interesting, count me in.
No sooner than he proposed to not antagonized her, Noire had pretty much displayed his point about as perfectly as he could've expected. Each team would be having one of their members head back to help with survivors, thus rearranging the current teams. The longer in which he watched Loyd interact with Noire was proof that she wouldn't be the easiest to work with, but they would managed somehow. Well hopefully his team would, he could quite say the same for the other one. Lazuli had walked back towards the inn with a relaxed look on his face when considering all that had recently transpired. It was only natural for him to make such an expression, even more so when there was something on his mind. Sub Guardians, temples, relics. Not to mentioned whatever trials awaited them while trying to get to said temples. Sure was a lot to being handed a bunch of kids that had just been assigned teams. Lazuli still had his misgivings, but had long since decided to trust Professor Ozpin's judgment with this. At the slow pace he had been walking, there wasn't anyone else around when he had just gotten to the inn. That was what it looked liked until Auburn had walked right past him. It was odd since she certainly didn't seem like the type to randomly go out and walk around Mistral, that was his thing for sure. "Going somewhere?" That should grab enough of her attention to get her to stop walking. Lazuli had saw the backpack that she had on her back and was curious as to why she had it on. "I doubt you're planning on going to find the temple on your own."
Zephyr had made a mental note of the three times the mayor had mentioned and even more so the fog that was said to appear following the sounds of the flute. Perhaps his own magic would be better suited to combating the affects that the fog appeared to have on adults. He wouldn't know for certain unless he tried and he planned to do just that. It was a habit that he wouldn't he shaking anytime soon. "Uh." That was all Zephyr said at first, surprised by what Thea's plan entailed and less that she had come up with it. "One of us should go with you then. The guards are likely older than all of us so Gavin or I might not be affected by it." As it could've looked like Zephyr wasn't all that concerned with Thea's intent on going out on her own, he just wasn't going to let her take such a risk by herself if he could help it. Worse case was by the time they got to where she had sent her flame, she had already vanished.
With the brick building now ahead of them, Vallus waited at the back of the group while looking at what was ahead. Disregarding how rundown and borderline stereotypical the building looked, there wasn't much that could be considered special about it. The two in front of the gate were the current issues that needed to be dealt with and as such, when Finlay asked who wanted to be the one start it off he looked towards him. "Why don't you do it, you're probably better at that."
After turning down the offer of oil Chrono had turned his attention to the markings on the wall. B.E.N said that said he was told that whoever made the map that the pirates were the same as the ones who lived here. Maybe B.E.N could read what it was that the markings meant, presuming that he remembered. "Do you know what they mean?" He mulled over it for a bit before finally deciding to ask B.E.N. Maybe he did know something that would be useful to know.
Zephyr nodded at the answer he was given as they resumed following behind Maliel. It was a reasonable answer given the circumstances in which they were told. Making their way through the village, the lack of children running around became more evident with how seemingly void of life everything appeared to be. Had it not been for the ravens sitting atop the mansion gates, Zephyr would've thought that it was a refreshing change in scenery. Entering the room, they found the mayor had been waiting for them this whole time. Zephyr found himself standing by the door as he spoke to them, not out of rudeness, just what he was used to doing."What time do can the flute be heard. I know we were told at night, but do you have anything more detailed than that?" Zephyr had himself an idea, one that wasn't without its fair share of risks. Risks that would be worth it if everything went accordingly.
Chrono had been climbing at a moderate pace for him as he was less focusing on getting up there quickly and not losing his grip and falling down. He could use his apparent keyblade glider in the event something like that happened, but the lingering risk of detection was there and not something he wanted to be the cause of. Trailing behind the group, Chrono had managed to reach the top of the cliff. The attention of the heartless had been drawn towards the others and a few had turned towards him since he was up there now. His natural response was to summon his keyblade as a means to defend himself from anything that might've come his way.
Zephyr had honestly expected to hear something along the lines of Thea going to a private school, but private tutors did also make sense. As did the rest of her story with her burning her homework, a teacher and the rest of them being fired. With all that in mind, it was a good thing that she wasn't sent to a private school after all. "She has a point, unless something happened during the day." Zephyr asked, making note of the age range. It was wishful thinking to hope that maybe Thea wouldn't be affected by it thus giving them one less thing to worry about. Depending on what information that they could get, maybe they could come up with a countermeasure of sorts.
The sudden rustling had cause Chrono to stop looking around and focus in on the direction that the noise was coming from. He was expecting to see some sort of alien creature leap out at them. Hopefully it would be friendly and not try to rip off their faces. The robot running from behind them was just that surprise and fortunately it didn't want to kill them. It did want to hug them. "Back, back, back!" Chrono said in what was a futile attempt to avoid the hug from the robot. "Chrono...I'm Chrono." He said. A hundred years he was stuck here? Why, er maybe it was because of how he acted. Assuming it wasn't a result of being alone for all that time.
"If that's what you feel is best, then good luck." Chrono had no desire to see anymore of his comrades die before him. He might've been a bit more annoyed with them, well two of them, death was by no means anything he wished on them. There was no sense in forcing them into something that they did not want to do. Following Mora to the cliff and watching Cerdic done on his keyblade armor, Chrono briefly considered doing the same but decided against it for the time being. He actually did remember having one and how to summon it. With that decision made, he looked up at the cliff that they were supposed to climb. He should be able to do this. With an affirmative nod, Chrono started to ascend up the cliff.
Kel could tell by the look in the penguins eyes that he'd realized just how much trouble that he was now in. With one keyblade he was able to beat three of them with ease. One could only imagine just how easy it would be to do the same now with two keyblades. Thus the penguin had hand signs or as close to them as he realistically could get given that it was trying to make hand signs with flippers of all things. At the end of this interesting display was was four puffs of smoke. Reinforcements had arrived to back up the poor, lone penguin ninja. Kel wasn't phased in the slightest by this and readied himself with both keyblades in hand. The penguins were quick to attack, not wanting to make the same mistake as the last group had done, and ganged up on Kel by attacking him by with blades drawn. Each blade had connected and pierced through, giving them the brief satisfaction of victory. However, what they had pieced was simply a wooden log as the real Kel casually stood behind them. "And that's how you properly avoid an attack as a ninja." A lesson that was followed by Kel dashing towards them groups at his ninja boosted speed. One of the penguins had managed to get his blade free rather quickly and set off to meet Kel in what had the potential to be an amazing clash between two ninjas. The initiative favored Kel for he'd tossed out a smoke bomb to create a screen to covered his progress. The penguin, thrown off by this, had stopped in its tracks. The sudden smoke caused it to look around in a panic wondering if it was going to be attack from any of the direction in which the smoke covered. The reality of the situation was that Kel was still charging from the front and delivered a devastating 'X' shaped blow once he'd gotten within range of penguin. The poor penguin was sent flying through the air, though fortunately still landed within the immediate area unlike the two penguins that Kel had exploded earlier. Realizing that it would be a bad idea for them if they stayed grouped up, the penguins split up. Actually using smoke screen to cover their tracks as well. So they could do that, good to know for the remainder of this battle. Standing there with his keyblades at the ready, Kel waited for any sign of an impending attack. Seconds after waiting, he was greeted by the unconscious body of one the penguins falling at his feet. He spotted Beuce, clad in his ranger attire and gave him the thumbs up before turning right as another penguin had tried to get the jump on him. Its initial attack was dodged and Kel countered by casting Graviga on it. Now that it was harmlessly floating around, Kel spotted the other at the distance seemingly planning something. The distraction gave Kel plenty of time to throw his keyblade at it. The bomb making process, which again was impressive given that it was doing this with just flippers, was halted with the penguin realized this and dodged the attack. Feeling proud of itself, it failed to noticed two key things. The cherry blossoms that had started to fall and that it was only one keyblade that was thrown at it. Before it could realized how much trouble it was in, Kel vanished in the blink of an eye. Only to reappear behind it, having dealt its damage from his Zantesuken and caught his other keyblade in the process. The number of penguins had quickly diminished and he knew that there were at least two left from the group of five he was dealing with. They had arrived at Tundratown with no issues and had even ran into Beuce and the others. Through the guidance of FruFru they walked towards where they were supposed to be able to meet her father. That was not the case as another voice went out of its way to greet them, even if Kel had no idea what accent that this voice had. Something that sounded like a villain or made it easier to believe that they were evil. There was a lingering tensity in the atmosphere up until the voice had said 'penguin ninjas' and while surprised by that the various figures with blades and such seemed to imply that he was telling the truth. "This is still going to take some getting used to." Regardless of how seemingly in intimidating this group of enemies were, Kel knew better than to underestimate them. Brandishing his keyblade, he took the first move by walking up to the nearest penguin ninja and tapping it with his fist. Said ninja was confused by this given that the bump itself didn't even hurt it in the slightest. What the ninja didn't realize was that shortly after Kel had done that, the spot in which he had touch started to burn. The burning grew until said spot was practically on fire and finally the penguin was sent flying backward as a result of the his attack. Confusion plastered the faces of all the ninjas who all turned to look at Kel. Kel simply had his keyblade at the ready, prepared to strike at the next one who choose to go on the offensive first. After moments of staring at one another in this pseudo stare down, the next move was made by the penguins who leapt to attack in a group of three. With a quick cast of Stopra, Kel quickly took a short leap back to distance himself from the from the small group. Then by turning the blade end of his keyblade down and towards the ground, he casted Seeker Mine and waited for the his first spell to wear off. One penguin ninja had the misfortune of being the ahead of the two by a small amount. Thus when it landed on the ground first, five mines had appeared beneath it and flew into it before it had even a second to react. in theory it could avoid the attack by using some sort of ninja ability, but he wasn't sure if they could even do that. Kel knew that he could do it as per his own ninja job and judging from the trail of smoke that few upward and the poor penguin that had blasted off team rocket style (not that he had any idea who team rocket was), either they did not know how to do it or that poor penguin was too surprised by the sudden mines that actually flew towards to properly react with some evasion move. Oh well, was no skin off is nose. Now to deal with the last two ninjas out of the ones who had chosen to attack him and had been doing so the entire time he had been wondering if they would be able to avoid his attack. What had happened was that after the middle penguin had blasted off the never neverland, the remaining two attacked first by throwing shuriken at him. He fended these off easily, but the penguins moved in to close range combat while he was busy fending off these attacks. One attack he was able to block with his keyblade. The second however it didn't look like would be able to do the same. In another flash of light, Kel brought out his second keyblade and smacked back the second penguins attack before it could land a blow on him. The perks of being able to dual wield keyblades. "Not completely." Zephyr had said to Gavin. They continued to follow behind Maliel as she guided them towards the Mayor's manor. The building that they had passed very quickly caught his attention and the children's voices only extended for how long his attention was focused on it. "Seems that way." Despite being able to understand why they were kept behind it, Zephyr didn't quite fully agree to these means. From his stand point, it looked more like they were in a prison of sorts. At the very least they were having fun in there, which sorta made it all better. "Quite the well guarded school if that's the case. That said, didn't you go to a school too Thea?" He actually didn't know if she did or not, but knew that school wasn't just a 'peasant' thing.
"That's a good question." Chrono muttered to himself. The large foliage that surrounded them was odd, especially with how large the mushrooms were. Chrono had decided to keep these thoughts regarding the surroundings to himself and continued to follow behind in silence. Every now and then his eyes would scan around to see if there was anything that stuck out to him. Well more then how everything else stuck out to him anyway.
Chrono never wanted to do that again. Falling was something that he did have a problem with and most of the time it was easy for him to work around that. Suddenly plunging towards a planet after being shot by a cannon was not one of those times, hence his tight grip on the boats sides that didn't let up for at least a few moment after they had crash landed. "Yes, thankfully." When Jim grabbed the map and said map turned into Morph, Chrono was reminded of the same object that Take had gone after before they fell. The realization had caused a sigh, followed by him saying. "Take might already have the map. I saw him go after it before the pirates broke through." Great, not only did he have what the pirates were looking for, but there was seemingly no way for them to help from on this planet.
For most of the carriage ride Zephyr had been looking out of the carriage window watching everything go pass them. Which is why when the scenery started to take turn for the more creepy, he both noticed it and didn't like the ominous feeling that it gave. Arriving at the market place, Zephyr got out of the carriage and looked around. The looks they got and the people talking in their hands was something he was used to personally, but another looked showed that they were more focused on Thea. "Could be that they weren't expecting someone so young to come and help them." That may have been what he said, but the lack of anyone her age cause a different reason to come to mind. The courtesying girl surprised Zephyr slightly. "Yeah, that's us. I'm Zephyr. Where is your mayor by the way?"
