Can't say he was surprised by the response that Karina had given him. For better or for worse, usually the latter, her stubbornness was what defined her as Karina. "I figured as much. Well take care of yourself then." Karina had already gone off to return Kaida's cloak to her by the time he said his own goodbye. Kel then made his way back over towards the others who had decided that they were going with Yue to take the mark of mastery.
I'll join if you still need some people
After his first lucky display of combat that had taken care of four heartless, Chrono had made his way back towards the others. A lucky hit was a lucky hit, but he wasn't crazy enough to just charge in there with only his fists as a weapon. Maybe if he had a stick or something, then he just might actually do that.Though seeing as that wasn't the case right now, doing so was out of the question right now. A quick step to turn himself around revealed the shadow that was already mid leap in attacking him, practically leaving him with no time to mount a counter of his own. Chrono quickly held up his arms and braced for the attack that was soon to come, but instead of feeling something scratch against his forearms and possibly injure him, instead there was a cool breeze that had blown past him. Odd, but seeing as how it was Chloe looking in his direction he assumed it was her that had helped him and gave her a thumbs up. The shadows mounted a counter attack of their own and charged towards them. Something had happened during said charge and the heartless started to rain down upon some of them, himself being one of the unlucky few that were rained down upon. The various clawing and scratch that was delivered to him certainly hurt, not enough to bring Chrono down. Despite the trembling in his legs he didn't go down at all and stayed on his feet. After those hits Chrono was now opting to not run forward and attacking them with his bare fist and instead saw another way of attacking right at his feet. Rocks and slightly above average size at that. He bent over a scooped up a handful of said rocks and started throwing them towards the heartless. Them being very fragile was very helpful here seeing as it only took one or two rocks to actually get rid of them fully. No matter, there were plenty of rocks around for him to throw at the shadows and at Ria when the time finally came. Though he would have to be careful to not hit anyone in the back of the head with said rocks, well except Cerdic. That would probably be okay to hit him in the back of the head with a rock or two. Oh hey, during this monologue 4 heartless were defeated through the power of rocks. Neat. Total Words: 413 BP Spent: 20 Heartless Killed: 4 Heartless Remaining: 252
Kuro mentally sighed at the response he was given. He may have gotten a better response than the girl who had tried speaking with him, things had gone a completely different route than what he had intended. "Funny, but I don't swing that way." The response was a quick one before progressing on to his next question. "Then what would be a good excuse to talk to you?" At this point Kuro just wanted to keep him talking so that his partner would have better success.
"Oh and here I was thinking that I've found a kindred spirit to talk to."Kuro said in an very sarcastic tone of his own. Of course he knew that he wanted to be alone, but he didn't really care. He just needed to get his attention long enough to get him away from this crowd to put an end to his life.Still he couldn't rush things, he needed to take his time and not screw up with an already difficult target. "I too was drag here by a friend of mind. She said something about making a purchase or something. I wasn't really listening." The bait had been cast and just like Noctis waiting to actually catch a bite, Kuro waited to see if he would take the bait or at least show some form of interest.
So, can you speak to Bahamut for me?
Not much, just school related stress
*Heavy Sigh*
In the midst of the others either declaring that they were either taking part in the the Mark of Mastery or heading with Lea to find the other keyblade wielders who had lost the way, the majority of them opting for the former, Kel had made his way over towards where Karina and Lea currently were. He was still both concerned and curious as to what it was that had happened to her and prior to just this moment there wasn't much of a chance to do so. "Hey Karina." He started once he was where they were. She'd likely heard 'Are you alright' enough from Ananta and/or Luna when they had last approached her, so he wasn't going to ask that. "Just so you know, my offer still stands about letting you come back with me to my homeworld." To be honest Kel wasn't even sure that she still remembered that offer given how long its been since he first said. Still he meant what he said when he said it so a potential reminder didn't hurt.
The joyous feeling Chrono had felt had lasted just up until Number II had reminded him that he would need to fight, especially that they were currently surrounded by shadows ready to attack them. Alright, he managed to remember his name, now for to bring out this 'keyblade' that he hopefully had. Once more Chrono held out his hand and focused on...something. Being unsure exactly to focus on, he just tried imaging a weapon to appear in his hand. Clenching and unclenching his hand hoping to find that something had appeared in his hand, he was granted with nothing. Guess his name would be the only thing that he would be remembering right now. Welp, that wouldn't stop him from trying to fight during this battle. The stopping force would be the matter of not having any means of fighting the heartless with. Actually Chrono looked at his hand and clenched it into a fist. Time for some bare knuckle brawling he supposed, thus with a quick shrug of his shoulders Chrono got into a fighting stance. "I'll keep that in mind and hopefully not forget it." The last part of that was muttered to himself following both the response and mental note of the move that Marley had demonstrated for him. Now for the actually fighting and four shadows had started to move towards where he was due to not moving to the center as per Chloe's instructions. In a sense it was better this was since he could actually try to see if his current means of attacking actually worked and on the somewhat likely chance it didn't, he knew who to hide behind when they decided to retaliate against the "defenseless" teen. He was the one to make the first move and swing at one of the shadows. His fist actually made contact and knocked it back into another one, and another one and into the last one that had appeared near him. Domino effect for the win since all four of them vanished into mist. "Huh, really didn't think that would work out." Said the white haired teen, looking at his fist with a sightly confused looked on his face. In fact, he didn't even know if he knew how to fight so that was really just a lucky hit that he managed to get. He'd gotten to remember his name and learned that he could use his fist against these particular enemies. As much he would love to have a 'keyblade', would be close enough for now. The fire ball fired by Alder had mad its way through the swirling vortex and collided with Ria and sent her back a bit. The lashing out under all these accusations was understandable and fortunately it wasn't directed at any of them, but the one who had started this mess in the first place. Following that, the swirling darkness around them sunk into the ground and reformed as a small army of darkness. They had their 'keyblades' ready, Ria had their oddly shaped and broken looking 'keyblade' ready and Chrono just took a step back towards the middle of the group. In this moment of moving back, something rang in his head. Was he...was he finally remembering something else? Maybe it was how to summon a 'keyblade'. Chrono concentrated on this more until it finally came to him. "Hey guys, I finally remembered my name. It's Chrono!" Despite the very very poor timing with this, he was quite happy to finally remember something of use.
All Chrono was an answer to his question. Just one simple answer would've sufficed. Ria clearly knew them so maybe they could help fill up the holes in his memory. But what did he get instead, trapped in a vortex of darkness that's what. From her accusations Alder knew what it was that the extractor did and there was a prince among them, a lot to take in all at once. The first thing that Chrono did was to turn towards the accused, by both Ria and Cerdic, Alder. "Do you actually know what the 'extractor' does?" A simple question and was devoid of all forms of suspicions, but filled with confusion. It wasn't like he fully trusted Alder, in fact he didn't fully trust any of them to be perfectly honest. Chrono was much more concerned with the holes in his memory to start jumping to conclusion. "If you do, just what else do you know?" Now that question was asked with some suspicion and accusations of his own.
He didn't know why number II had chosen to run along him as they headed out of the cave, especially since he was lacking in the means of defense that the others seemingly had. "Uh sure, I suppose." He answered. Getting out of the cave, the first thing that caught his attention was the person in gray who started speaking to them. Nothing that they said made sense to him outside of them saying that their name was Ria. At this point Chrono briefly tune out the conversation to focus more on his thought, which were both still trying to figure out his name as well as what this 'extractor' was. The only other thing inside of the cave other them themselves had been the broken machine. If that was the extractor then it certain was destroyed, but why and what was the purpose of it in the first place. Hopefully Chloe's question would answer the first one that he had thought of, though there was still something else for him to ask. "How do you know us?" The robed figured had outright called Alder by his name and there was some form familiarity towards them.
"And I'm glad that you happen to be a weapon that I know how to use." Zephyr added. Sure he could've learned how to use a completely different weapon , but there was a good chance that could've changed his preferred fighting style depending on what he'd gotten. Roderick being a katana just saved him a lot of trouble in the long run. He may not have said this out loud, but he doubted that Zoey was the best meister there. Not doubting her skills in general given that he hasn't actually seen her in action at all. There were likely stronger partners here at the school that they hadn't seen yet. "Have you always known how to use a staff?" Zephyr asked Zoey.
With both the Reaper's Game and the remaining members of the Hellfire Club standing as obstacles in their path, it was certainly wasn't going to be easy to get past all that. At this point however, things not being easy for them was par for course. They did just have to fight one of the members of the Hellfire Club while slowly regaining their lost abilities and skills. Then came some of the perks of being a master, all of which sounded appealing all things considered. Lastly they were given a choice to either take part of the Reaper's Game or go hunting for lost drifters in the darkness. Kel looked over towards Karina after the mentioning of the 'angry one'. He still had no clue just what exactly had happened with her while he was in the door. She may have been strong physically, but she certainly wasn't the most emotionally stable and her new path was apparently set in stone without her keyblade. In his case however there was still something that he needed to do, this time around wasn't referring to getting even Nequa, and the whatever abilities that came from being a master would make that task all the easier. "Bring on the game, I can handle whatever it throws at me."
Eh sure, why not
In any other situation a trip to the capital of Ocressa would have been something to look forward too. Over the years Veilen had hear various different tales about what people had seen here and wanted to see it for himself, but during the time he was with his teacher and rarely could find the time to detour from their own journey just to sight see. They had still managed to see other sights along the way like Purra and it's capital Runna. Those would forever be something that he remembered and not because he nearly blinded himself by staring at one of the towers. He still remembered his teacher calling him an idiot for that, which it was a valid thing to say at the time. Now here he was actually walking through Ocressa and even with it being something that he's wanted to do for some time, he couldn't just bring himself to enjoy the sights. With the current state that the world was in doing something like that would've been out of place. Sightseeing wasn't the reason that he was here to begin with, what Veilen was here for had to do with the letter that he had come across a couple of weeks ago. As per its instructions he made his way one of the bars along the main avenue and he was greeted by a woman who lead him to an room that was located under the main area of the bar. During his descent down towards the room, he started to wonder who else would be there by the time he'd gotten there. Someone had set out those letters with the intent of actually doing something about the demons starting with getting their magic back. Despite as skilled with a sword that he was, it only got him so far given what was out there for him to fight and his magic would make it much easier. He was let into the door and took notice of the woman, girl and pet bird in the room. "Were you the one who sent out the letter?" That was the first thing that Veilen asked upon entering the room.
As Kel waited for a response to his question regarding the pin with the skull icon, Aislinn has spoken up shortly following Beuce telling Yue off. Ya know, it was really odd having someone trying be well, the voice of reason to the entire group. Not exactly something that he's seen happen often. "I wouldn't quite call us the most qualified group of heroes" a brief pause was made as he thought back to two particular examples. "But we do seems to always seem to in the middle of everything right when it happens so its not like we have much of a choice but to be heroes." Having said his peace towards Aislinn, it was time to move on to the next order more like disorder of business. "I'm not going to pretend that I know anything about the hellfire unless they all can seal our keyblades and stuff us into chests, I don't plan on being content just because I got back my keyblade. Especially since there's one person I'm tired of getting my butt handed to me by a certain person." And one way or the other, excluding going down a path of darkness just for power, Kel would get even with her.
Trying to remember his name would have to wait for there were more urgent matters to attend to. As in the cavern that they were currently in had started to shake around them. Now this really was bad time not to know whether or not he had a 'keyblade' like pretty bad. Thus he quickly made his way towards behind the others towards the exit. Seeing as how they did have 'keyblades' he'd least be relatively safe for the time being.
Allec listen carefully to Dania's plan as the meeting went on. Flying through a meteor belt was risky in its own way though both Dania and Emma seemed confident in their chances of getting through in one piece. Hearing just how old the records were brought one question to his mind. "Given how old the records are, what if we encounter another race on the planet? "
