Ooh, look, more things for Jade to label as silly. First, Congress would never do anything that would revoke any of the statements on the Bill of Rights. Never. It's just too deeply ingrained in American philosophy. Second, as Cin said a while ago, this is being blown way out of proportion. All I have to say in response to this is: "What do you have to hide?"
Oh dear. This is why I'm starting to think people should need to take a common-sense test before being allowed outside a controlled setting. Again, as I seem to be saying about a lot of current events, this is just silly. Perhaps these parents should take it upon themselves to make sure their kids don't end up obese? And then perhaps allow others to mind their own business?!
Uhm, since this is a section of the Intelligent Discussion, could you try to contribute more? Just a thought. Anyway, it's lightning. Hooray? I see where they're coming from with the "spark-of-life" statement, but it's a little hasty to just dismiss the fact out of hand because Venus doesn't have the same atmosphere as we do. Perhaps life will evolve there differently than on Earth. ...then again, I am a lazy sci-fi geek, so anything I say about space-related topics should automatically be disregarded. XD
As an American myself, I think it's silly- the emphasis people place on "feel-good" foods such as chocolate rather than healthier alternatives. Much of obesity can probably (IMO) be traced back to the 50's and 60's, when microwave food was new and easy to obtain, if not necessarily particularly good for you. Since I eat TV dinners at least three days out of the week, I fully admit that they're not the best things for you. In this day and age, generally both parents in a family work full-time, while teenagers often get jobs as well; therefore, none of the old-fashioned "family meals", leading to the unhealthy, if quick and cheap, junk foods in its place. Still, obesity is just plain silly. Isn't there a point where you just sit back and go: "Hm, this doesn't seem to be good for me. Maybe I shouldn't eat as much and try doing something else with my time instead of sitting around on my lazy ***."?
I disagree with the statement that it is ****ogous to the Christian God or Jesus... children are named Jesus constantly, so it would not be considered offensive for a stuffed animal to be named as such. I think these parents need to develop a sense of humor, or, if not, at least some tolerance to those not of their religion. It's frankly silly to criminally punish someone because of ignorance. This is no longer the middle ages, children. We need to grow up.
Because of people like you. Sorry, last parting shot. Imma gunna get banned for that.
Right, well I wash my hands of this. Have fun. (she says sarcastically) Hope this doesn't become the next flame war.
Hey! Watch it, or you'll get this thread closed!
Actually, Nazi Germany invaded Europe as an attacking force; they were not forced into it by outside circumstances, nor did they have any other reason other than the spread of their culture or ideas. I shouldn't say it that generally; I mean Hitler and those like him.
This is possibly the most contraversal thread this month. Too bad it can't be moved to Intelligent Discussion because of its opening post.
Thank you. Saves me the trouble of typing it out myself.
That goes back to the ancient question of good versus evil... it all depends on point of view.
What I want to know is, what do the cats plan to do once they finally catch said elusive beam of light? o.0
But they still try to chase it up a vertical wall. Sillies.
I can't agree more. John S., I wish you all the best in your military career.
Or even just a mirror reflecting sunlight onto a wall. Good times... for me, I mean, not the cat.
I already PM'd you with my opinion; I refuse to let this escalate by arguing with you via thread.
Everyone's taking this so seriously; I intended this thread to be a joke. o.0 Jade phails.
L's English voice = win Light's English voice = fail Ryuk's English voice is too evil; I can't picture him going through apple withdrawl. Chief Yagami's English voice sounds like he's narrating a documentary for the History Channel. (Yes, I just jumped in a new direction on this thread, completly disregarding everything posted above me.)
