The sky duhhhr
The Mayans made a new calendar every time the old one ended. So if they were still a distinct civilization, they would just make a new on when this one ended. Nothing to worry about.
Fail. Read my above post.
But if a person doesn't believe in the concept of sin, they aren't going to care, are they?
Also, in Hebrew numerology, 666=Nero Caesar. Revelation wasn't about the future; it was about the present. John was writing a political commentary, not a prophecy, because to the early Church, the world was already ending.
When the Republican party ceases to exist. Which is proving very difficult to anticipate.
I don't hate Twilight (I've never actually read it xD) but if an author like Stephen King doesn't like it, then it can't be nearly as good as people say. Dark Tower ftw.
Um, God=Jesus, and Jesus is simultaneously 2 different people. Maybe you should read the Bible too. And the common interpretation of Christian lore is that Satan does in fact rule over Hell...or he's imprisoned in it, one of the two.
Freemasonry is not a religion; although all of its members must believe in a Supreme Being (not necessarily a god), it does not have a single god or object of worship and therefore it is really just a fraternity. You are right, though; the founding fathers, as Masons, would have been theists. And we can be sure that some of those people were Atheists because they probably said they were. I think Cin knows what he's talking about. Plus, he's not "judging" them, as you put it: he is simply stating that he knows (or believes, it seems) that these people (some of them) were Atheists and that they were probably very intelligent because of it. He's not "judging" them at all.
You guys know there's an entire section of the forum on manga, right?
Year Zero was...different, to say the least. It had a fantastic plot, but a lot of the songs were kinda the same.
Much thanks for resurrecting my topic. :) Anyway, NIN is probably the most awesome band in the universe at this moment. 'Nuff said. I agree. The Fragile is easily one of Trent's best (I like The Downward Spiral better, but The Fragile is awesome too).
It is my opinion that with the views that Hamas has (basically Nazi views), they should be eradicated. I'm not saying the IDF should kill innocent people for it, but they take precautions to minimize civilians casualties, and when people ignore the IDF's warnings and get themselves killed, whose fault is that? And it's really pathetic and kinda anti-Semitic, I think, to compare the Gaza offensive to the actions that the NSDAP took against European Jewry during the Holocaust.
QFT. We can't say whether anyone is right, so why bother? And again, I don't see anyone distrusting atheists. I see theists disagreeing with them (as I often do), but distrusting them? That's entirely different.
Let me offer my profuse apologies. I shouldn't have said that, I should have known it would probably hurt someone and I'm very sorry. What I meant by that was I can see both sides (the rational and the irrational) and I can make conclusions about the world around me with a better worldview. I never meant to say that theists are better than Atheists, or vice versa, and I apologize if you got that impression.
FAIL. You just insulted me and probably a bunch of other people. Anyway, I don't distrust atheists. I actually consider myself more intelligent than them in some ways (being able to believe in an omnipotent God and still put my trust in science), but they are certainly wonderful people (most of the time).
There's an electric car that generates power when you push the accelerator, and it can actually go pretty fast.
Not from my understanding. EDIT: Fine, so you were right. Nevermind then.
The 90's was the best year in music. It kinda went downhill after that.
Yeah, I'm much more concerned with Yellowstone (if you guys didn't know, Yellowstone is a huge volcano, and it will probably erupt very soon).
