Spoiler tagged because this is basically... Huge. I also included a few collabs I've done at the bottom since a lot of them were so beautiful (not much to my influence) I had to include them! Please don't rip these- if you'd like to wear any of them ask me and I'd be happy to give you the actual image code. Made a lot this month- dunno why... :o Spoiler
Agreeing with Misty. The colours around the focal are really quite nice. I also think your depth is really lovely as well- now only if you had better lighting to compliment that. I wouldn't mind the text on the side if you lowered the opacity I think like you said. :) The avatar is actually pretty decent as an avatar to be honest. :D
I can haz PSD? :| ...... :awesome: Edit: I keep forgetting the internet is not TKK. D:
No filters? Oh that'd be mean. xD
I like V1 better. The filters don't really do so much for me. The vector shapes look decent, but as Misty said, they compete for the focus over your stock image. Still nice job overall, the concept is wonderful. :)
Niiice. I love your macro shots! :D
.... guess since the discussion topic is closed I'll ask here. How do we vote with only three submissions?
So a friend of mine came up with a pretty good topic idea; and discussion starter. I later took her idea and made it into a battle theme at another forum's battle grounds. Basically it's a before/after theme where you take the stock of your first sig, and re-make that sig to the best of your ability now... .... I can't believe I'm showing you guys my first sig by the way... 12/15/09 5/12/10
I do have a tutorial on that smudge style (though I'm no expert on it myself, the tut was helpful) I just can't remember where I found it. I have it saved on my computer. It's by someone called shavemoarbirds. XD Edit: I FOUNND ITTT!!!! O.O http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/1196/shavemoarbirdstut.jpg It's a really simple technique really. It just uses a round brush and simple in and out motions. It's really simple but I've made some of my best stuff using that technique. example: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v720/Recca303/midnightserenitytextless-1.png IMG tags failed me.... D:
Agreed. That little smidgen of green is out of place but other than that, hot damn that is pretty. :D LOVE the lighting.
That certainly is liquefy, but it looks like there's another filter on the undertone there... it might be high pass, but I am actually not 110% sure. :(
Thank you. :) And thanks for setting up SOTW.
Code: [img]http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6534/ffffffh.png[/img] .... D: I tried. .... :| Is my code tag showing the image instead of the code for anyone else?

Oooo. Pretty fractal... I may do this.... Maybe.... Are we allowed to use any other renders or does it have to be limited to that particular fractal?
Haha. I have some trouble with cs5. It likes to ragequit on me; which never happened when I was working with cs4. Now I have to get into the habit of saving constantly. D:
For a first attempt it's really not that bad. =p Everyone has to start somewhere right? Here's my CnC; if you intend to keep practicing, take it one step at a time. =) It looks like you have the basics of lighting down, but your flow is contradictory here. Flow is the general direction your effects should go in. Usually this line or direction leads our eyes to a focal. In your case, the focal would be the man on the green shark. Your text "suddenly" is going in one direction, but your pink lines are going in the opposite direction. This causes unwanted dissonance within the piece. Again, I will say your lighting is pretty spot on for a first try, and that is one of the main things that make up a good tag/sig. Good luck; hope to see more of your work in the future. :D
This isn't my best at all. I was basically just trying out all the new stuff, and getting a feel for cs5 for this sig. I wanted to see if I could even apply the content aware fill in sig making, and make it work alright, as well as some of the other new stuff in cs5.
This is why I usually prefer vectoring rather than just filling in directly on a scan. It looks cleaner and smoother. =) It also gives you more freedom to accentuate shading and lighting as you see fit rather than just using those pixel-y shades.
Thank you! :)
Thank you! I usually haaate slapping on text as a last thing, but I did do it here because that empty space was just killing it for me. I felt a bit... naughty? I guess? Every instinct was telling me "IT'S TOO LATE FOR TEXT. DON'T ADD TEXT" xD So I'm glad it worked out for someone else I guess. :D Thanks again for your crit. :D
