How have you not encountered this? Another variation is Sora will cancel out of an attack if he touches a roof while attacking. This is a huge pain in Monstro's stomach
I'd take Sora doing a flashy move over Sora canceling out of cure but still using the MP because I used it in midair
Combat is stiff, besides the out of place new moves Final Mix added, cutscenes are primitive and very few are fully realized, with lip flaps for most VA work and text only for even more. The game is also full to bursting with really weird, REALLY awkward puzzles and platforming that the series was wise to reduce and streamline in later games. Magic is also utterly useless bar specific situations, Summons doubly so. It's by no means a bad game, but nearly every other game in the series outshines it by sheer virtue of having more experience behind it
KH1 has cool concepts marred by being made a decade ago. It's a perfectly good curiosity, and still beats the DS games, but it's clunky, disjointed and awkward all around.
The only reason to vote for KH1 is nostalgia
Third best
Words don't mean much without a tone to go with them
Don'tread too far into what a person says on a forum post. Those aren't some random rantings, those are basically the bullet points I could remmeber off the top of my head for my inevitable review. DDD has good points, and it's not DAYS bad, but it's a close second
Basically, I was thinking the other day about how... not much music actually makes me feel any sense of adrenaline or anything, then I remembered this song This is one of very few songs I know of that actually drastically increases the tension of a boss fight in a game for me (it helps that the bosses in the DS version are rock hard though) But yeah, anybody here got music like that? Doesn't have to be game music, jsut tunes that can get your heart pumping
Yeah, I can never decide what's more fun, the broken enemies, the broken platforming, the reliance on flowmotion even though it ends up hideously weak by the end of the game. Or the bosses that waste your time. Or getting stuck inside objects. Or the insane difficulty spikes. Or the remarkably useless character swapping feature. Did I mention broken enemies? Because HOOLY the Dream Eaters are one of the worst things in KH history. Don't forget the time travel, because there's still a tiny bit of elegance left in the KH plot and that needs to be stomped out Being forced to raise specific Dream Eaters to get abilities, that was fun too. The fact that the game plays like a prototype BBS, that's also good Sometimes it's hard to decide what's more fun about this game
I'd take Re:CoM over a broken, rushed, glitchy, short game that took the series to a new low in terms of plot Especially if that game also had Dream Eaters in it And Flowmotion Those sucked too
Better translation, faster combat, some people prefer 2D art, less censorship
It's worth noting Sephiroth has two official stances. The over the shoulder one, and one more akin to Terra's
Saw him as the villain? Never mind Larxene refers to herself as the bad guy, never mind that the members make jokes and generally don;'t care when the CO members are KOed, Sora never went and outwardly attacked members, they goaded him and he attacked in self defense. Beyond even that, as far as I can tell most of the members never actually found out it was Sora that actually took out the members (I've been replaying Days, and nobody seems to tell Demyx, Luxord or Xaldin) The reason the Organization members do bad things is because the games need villains
YOU GET A LIGHTSABER? And the night looks pretty, I love it
This is... untrue. Sora doesn't gain a second keyblade because of Donald or Goofy (or the alternative third party member) their power is used to unlock the cloth's potential. The cloths basically act as an amp, giving Sora powers he doesn't have the skill you access normally. Nomura has confirmed in an interview that Sora has the ability to use a second keyblade because of Ventus' heart. In fact, everyone should just read this: http://kh-info-block.tumblr.com/post/18431930471/nomura-interviews-20-mysteries-of-the-series And you need to remember that there is no 'true' keyblade. Keychains are what gives a keyblade definition. Starseeker isn't Mickey's keyblade. Really it seems that keyblades are formed by memories, so since Roxas is full of Sora's memories (and Xion as well) it makes sense that their keyblades would represent Sora's
I'd imagine the twirling is related to his affinity for wind
I've actually written a really long deconstruction of each keyblade fighting stance, and you're pretty much on the money. Riku/Xehanort/Vanitas use a stance that makes defense far mroe difficult but is very offensively powerful. Sora uses a stance that is fairly versatile, but is ideal for defense, being in a position where guarding would require less movement. Terra Aqua and Ventus all have more defiend fighting styles, since they aren't self taught. Terra's style is built around guards (hence his association with stone) so you're right on the money there. Aqua is interesting though, her stance is kidna similar to a fencing stance, but more significantly, as far as I can tell it's completely impractical for combat... which would make sense, since she relies on magic primarily. Ventus' style is a backhanded stance often associated with Assassins. It's meant to be used with daggers, which would explain why Ventus gets the shortest range keyblades. His stance, which is meant to be supported by light armour, encourages freedom of movement, mirroring Ven's speedy style. On the subject at hand, Vanitas, Xehanort, Riku and Repliku (or so I'm told) all have different variations of the same stance. I'm sure there's a connection, but wwe'll only know what that is when KH3 comes out. My bet is time travel. (Also Sephiroth's stance is nothing like Riku, Xehanort or Vanitas')
Lately I've been doing reviews on the PS+ games that come around for the PS3, this week's was Remember Me I was curious what people have to say about the review, or the game in general, I hadn't actually heard much of anything about it before starting the review
