Amidst the barren ruins of a once great city, Gexln wandered around attempting to find what he was looking for. He wasn't quite sure what he was looking for, exactly. Some kind of sign? An beacon of hope for his world? When it had become evident that his homeworld was doomed, Gexln had began thinking of where he could find a way to reverse the process, and The Dark Void (the world he was at) was the perfect place to start. The man with the scythe had spouted all kinds of crap about darkness, had destroyed plenty of worlds and it was there that Gexln had fought and killed the madman, so it made perfect sense. At least, in theory it had. After walking for so long, the Nobody of the Dark was beginning to lose hope. There was nothing there other than destroyed buildings, decaying vegetation, and the mass of dark energy within a huge crater in the centre of the world. No sign, no hope of salvation, and that meant no hope for Kara either. Just as he was about to give up and head to another world, he heard a slightly familiar sound. It sounded similar to a dark corridor, but that wasn't quite what it was. It was a portal, of that he was sure, but the make of it was one he couldn't pinpoint. It didn't bother him so much...he figured that whoever made it could likely tell him what was going on if he asked, and the maker was sure to arrive any second now.
"There's nothing wrong with appreciating sleep, but sure I'll go a round" the warrior said, tossing down his blade onto the ground. Whilst Drake's sword skills were near flawless, his unarmed combat skills were certainly nothing to be laughed at. Even if he had no experience with it whatsoever, he wasn't going to take the chance that he might hurt Amber. Nothing could convince him to take that chance, even if it meant being shown up by his wife. He watched as his opponent used her fae abilities and transformed into a leopard, recalling how he had once been shocked to see it happen. Those days were long gone though, and Amber no longer had the element of surprise on her side. Just as Drake was about to lunge forward with an attack, the fae queen leaped into the brush, seemingly vanishing. He could see and hear the rustling in the grass, but as he turned to look at where it had come from he could see nothing, Amber being much too fast in her cat form. He simply stopped for a moment, a sly grin appearing on his face as he came to a decision on exactly what he should do. While he hadn't done it too recently, he'd played this game with her many a time before. Due to his mortal nature and her superior speed in her fae form, he hadn't actually bested her. Until today, that was. He had one advantage over her in that scenario, and that was that she was using the same tactic as she tended to favour, and that day was the day it would prove to be her downfall. The warrior waited until his beloved made her move, simply standing still. She was as quiet as she usually was; if he wasn't so focused he doubted he'd be able to hear it at all, but that all changed when she made her attack. He heard her charging towards him, waiting about two seconds before simply leaping up into the air and performing a somersault. As the leopard dashed below him in an attempt to tackle him, Drake landed on her back, wrapping his arms around her and using the strength in his hind legs to push her forward just a little, hopefully enough to cause her to fall onto the ground.
I'd like to give credit to both @Aelin FireHeart and @cstar for this banner. Gabi for the image, Cstar for the banner itself. To say you guys are awesome is a severe understatement, thanks a bunch. Wandering casually through Kaynta, Drake Famoye was...kind of bored, actually. Life was too quiet for his taste. He had everything he'd ever wanted; a place he could call home, close friends he could rely on, and the most beautiful wife he could ever ask for, and yet something was missing. The fire in a warrior's heart never truly extinguished, no matter how much he tried. He found himself longing for the battles he experienced frequently a couple of years ago, for the excitement that came with being the leader of the scouting regiment. Drake sighed as he walked. Unfortunately, he was no longer the leader of the scouting regiment. That title had been passed down quite a while ago. These days he was more of a...pseudo king, of sorts. He wasn't officially the king, nor did he desire to be one, but he certainly made a fair few decisions that would belong to the authority of someone more than an advisor to the queen. Not that he minded; how could he ever dislike a job where he could help both the citizens of Kaynta and Amber? No, he didn't mind it, he just wished the most exciting thing of the week hadn't been when someone had dared to ask if he'd thought his wife's butt had looked big, right in front of him. It wasn't all bad though. He'd promised Amber he'd be there for her, and he very much was. On occasion he stopped by where the scouting regiment practiced and had a bit of a sparring session just to show them that he was, and always would be, capable of whipping any slackers into shape. He couldn't do it too much though, too many things needed seeing to. Not right at that moment though, they could wait. He had his sword at his side and he was going to train. Keeping in fighting shape was one thing he made sure to always do, and today was no different. Making sure nobody was watching, he snuck quietly away to where he usually did, and was surprised to see the queen of Kaynta there. If it had been anyone else, Drake would've bet that they would have told the queen to go back then and there. "It's not fit for the queen to be doing such a thing" is what many would say, or "your highness we have too many things to do, we don't have time for this!", but Drake wasn't like the others. He knew Amber well enough that he knew nothing he said could really change her mind, which was good because he didn't want to change her mind. He knew she longed for the excitement just as much as he did, and besides...he hadn't had this opportunity in a while. Strolling over to her side, he allowed himself a little smirk. "Having fun?" he asked. Jotting down notes frantically, Akari was busy in her workshop. Rare was the day she left it in those times; she always had some kind of idea bubbling away in her head. In fact, she'd been working on a specific device for quite some time now. For the last few months, she had been relentlessly stressing her brain for some kind of idea, an inkling of progression, to make her efforts speed up that much more. It wasn't just any one of her inventions that Akari Hirano was working on though. She'd made impressive things in the past; Grappling hooks capable of shooting straight through walls, cloaks rendering people invisible to titans, hell she had even managed to think up a flying machine. That one was all theory for the moment, but one day she'd finish it. It was pretty close to completion, but finding the drive for it was another thing altogether. This one was going to be something that would put them all to shame though. It combined a few aspects of her cloak with a simple scanner. It would enable whoever wore it to remain invisible whilst moving at high speeds, while also vibrating slightly whenever a titan was detected in the presence of the wearer. Taking a quick second to look at the hat she had sitting on her desk, the hat that had once belonged to a friend, she allowed a tear to silently flow down into the goggles that were on her head before going back to scribbling down the theory frantically. "Never again" she said quietly, hand furiously writing.
BASIC INFO NAME: Shane Ware NICKNAME(S): N/A AGE: 19 HEIGHT: 174cm WEIGHT: 67kg GENDER: Male RACE: Spyrix user APPEARANCE: HERE WEAPON(S): None with the exception of whatever he can find in his surroundings PERSONALITY LIKES: Dogs, puzzles (especially the purely intellectual ones), coffee, sunsets DISLIKES: The colour pink, feeling like an outcast, cats, and above all he dislikes earl grey tea. FLAWS: Has a habit of overthinking things, competent with hand to hand combat but not especially great, will not hesitate to risk his own life if it means protecting someone dear to him. Won't kill if he can avoid it, and is very hesitant to do things that would cause harm to anyone he doesn't consider an enemy. FEARS: That he'll be found out as a Spyrix user, that he'll lose control of his powers, that the past will repeat itself, has a mild fear of birds. QUIRKS: N/A HOBBIES: Reading, writing, practicing his powers. ABILITIES SPYRIX POWER: TELEPATHY ABILITIES: Mind Reading - Allows Shane to "hear" the thoughts of those he uses this ability on, as well as allowing the telepath to send his own thoughts to them. "With a telepath around, there is no such thing as a secret" Memory Manipulation - Allows Shane to view, erase or distort memories. Depending on how much energy the Spyrix user puts into this ability, he even has the ability to replace older memories with fake ones, or create new ones altogether. He does not like using this ability. "You don't need to be afraid, this won't hurt you at all; and even if it did, you wouldn't remember it anyway" Pushing - Using his telepathy, Shane can project a thought to someone and make it sound as though it was their own. This does not mean the target does as he commands, for it is not so much a "have" to do it as a want to, but the urge to do that thing is slightly stronger than it usually would be. "You shouldn't fight the urge to do that. It feels so natural, so right, what could be the worst that would happen?" Psionic Inundation - When all else fails, Shane has the ability to assault his foe with telepathic energy. The effects of this ability vary by how much energy is put into it, with effects ranging from something as small as annoying headaches to as large as immediate shutting down of the brain due to being unable to cope with the mass information, resulting in death. "I didn't want it to come to this..." Darksive View - Draws out the target's worst qualities and amplifies them significantly, changing even the most gentle soul to a violent monster if needs be. "Everyone has a dark, twisted side to them; I'm just better than most at revealing it" BACKSTORY DAMNIT HANNAH YOU TOTALLY CALLED MY "i'll edit this in later" THING BEFORE I COULD EVEN DO IT. HA, I DIDN'T PUT THAT SO IT COUNTS. What? You still want one? Heeeeere we go then.. Mother had incurable illness, oh no terrible horrible. He was bullied, turned on by his father, killed everyone. Lost the love of his life in the most painful of ways, such sad. Became OverPowered, or OP as we mortals refer to it. Good enough? .... Fussy, aren't we? I hope you like reading... Spoiler Shane Ware was raised in a life of poverty. Never knowing true happiness or any sort of privilege, his childhood was a sad one until the age of seven, where he discovered his powers. At first he came to see them as a gift, practicing them where he can and thoroughly enjoying his newfound gift. Eventually, he began using them to his advantage, playing guessing games with people for a small fee and putting the idea in their mind that was the wrong one. It wasn't much money, but it was enough to improve his family's standard of living enough that they began to be able to relax just a little. This was not to last, however. At the age of 14, his mother was struck down with an incurable illness, Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease to be exact. Knowing no cure for it, his family could only wait and watch his mother's health deteriorate. For all Shane's powers, he could do nothing but watch and attempt to restore any memories his mother lost. A few months after his 17th birthday, Shane went to a party to celebrate his father getting a promotion, but at the party people began bullying him, jealous of the money he was making from a simple trick. They tried several times to best him, but by pure dumb luck they didn't guess correctly a single time. The bullies began to abuse him both physically and shouting horrible things at him. This continued for several minutes until his father came over to see if he was okay, but upon seeing the bullies he backed off and returned to the party, pretending he hadn't seen anything. Seeing that he was a little upset by the bullying, Shane's friend Raina attempted to comfort him. She'd always been there for him, even in his worst moments, and that moment was no exception. She reminded him of the good times, bringing a slight smile to his face. She talked of the many years they had known each other, and how she had gradually grown closer to him with each passing day, before finally revealing she believed she was truly in love with Shane. This was the final push to get Shane's attitude to change slightly. In that moment, everything bad that had ever happened was a distant memory, merely a path he had taken to reach the point of happiness he was sure he would follow with her. Noticing the change in him, the bullies moved in once more. Figuring out the easiest way to cause harm to Shane, they began assaulting Raina, beating her senselessly before Shane, who repeatedly tried to help her only to be pushed back. His strength was in the mental department, not physical, and his opponents knew it. More upset now then he had ever been, Shane felt truly powerless and was astoundingly furious. He found himself wishing they would kill themselves, wishing they would just leave him alone and take their own lives. Completely unintentionally, he used his powers and the bullies did just that, as well as everyone else there with the exception of Shane's father and Raina, who was now unconscious from the overwhelming stress of everything that had happened. After seeing what had happened and knowing of Shane's powers, his father turned on him. Pulling out a handgun, he pointed it at his son and began screaming at him and cursing him, saying he wished he had never been born and saying specifically he was nothing but a burden, a mistake, a monster. Shane yelled out to his father and pleaded for him to listen, but the man would not. Amidst his pleading, Shane used his most powerful ability on himself, knowing if he was to survive there was no other way. He used his powers to bring out the darkest side of his personality, and then he used his Psionic Inundation to bombard his father with such powerful psychic waves the man's brain completely shut down, dying immediately. The telepath looked at the unconscious Raina. A small part of him wanted to take her with him, to not part ways with the one who was so dear to him, but he couldn't. He cared deeply about her, and he wasn't about to put her in danger. She knew too much though, and was already involved whether he liked it or not, and so he decided to change it. Going through each and every memory they had experienced together, a blur of emotions surged through the boy as he gradually erased each and every one involving him. It would be as though she had never met or heard of Shane, as though they had never meant as much to each other as they had. But that was for the best. Shane left that area as one of two survivors, the police labelling it as a mass suicide pact and moving on, but the boy knew better. He began looking into things to help him with his power, which he now thought of as a curse, and he stumbled upon a single name after reluctantly reading the minds of several government agents. He discovered the name of a man with leading development in Spyrix research. After manipulating those that were protecting him into revealing his location, Shane went to him and was immediately captured and thrown into a holding cell for those with spyrix powers. This cell did not hold him for long though, as his captors quickly found out. Shane was powerful, far more powerful than any had expected, and he swiftly overpowered the technology used to block his abilities before pushing those that would keep him imprisoned to free him, escort him, and then turn on one another. Learning from his mistakes, he stepped up the practicing of his abilities, honing them and becoming more and more efficient with them, until at last he was confident enough that he could use them without people finding out easily. He then joined up with a team of people that specifically hunted down Spyrix users, figuring the best place to hide was in the one place they would not look. Hoping to move on from his past and escape it at last, he sent in an application and joined shortly afterwards. BASIC INFO NAME: Drake Famoye NICKNAME(S): (If any) AGE: 22 HEIGHT: 190cm, not sure how much that is in feet. WEIGHT: Let's go with 90kg, once again not sure what it is in your measurement. GENDER: Male RACE: Human APPEARANCE: If this isn't good enough, send me a message and i'll send another WEAPON(S): (If any) A standard sword, and though I'm not sure it counts as a weapon he also has a grappling hook of sorts which he has the ability to swing through the air with (think attack on titan 3D maneuver gear) PERSONALITY LIKES: Redheads, the colour blue, has a bit of an addiction to chocolate, and his favourite animal would have to be a leopard. DISLIKES: Blondes, the colour green, certain breeds of dogs, and above all else he has a passionate dislike for mutants and spyrix users. FLAWS: Is reckless when it comes to battle, is quick to put his body on the line, and judges people rather quickly. FEARS: Failure (big one), that mutants and spyrix users will dominate the population even more than they already do. QUIRKS: Has a habit of using his grappling hook to get around, rather than walk. HOBBIES: Sparring and practicing his spearmanship, enjoys reading, and occasionally he can be found occupying the aisles of grocery stores which contain chocolate, drooling over the possibilities. ABILITIES SPYRIX POWER: N/A ABILITIES: Expert Swordsmanship - Speaks for itself, really. Is good with a sword. "So long as I have this sword and I still have breath, I'm not going to give in. I won't lose any more people I care about!" Unarmed combat skills - Is also good without a sword. Go figure. "Even without my blade, I'm still going to bring you down!" Spiderma- I can't call it that? Uh...GRAPPLING HOOK MASTERY - Is graceful in the air and highly maneuverable due to his 3D maneuver gear stuff. "What's the matter? Can't hit me?" Durablity training - Drake has honed his body to peak physical condition, able to survive more punishment and brutality than would be expected for a mere human. "Compared to the pain of losing them, this is nothing. Is that all you've got?!" Call of a leader - Has the ability to create dramatic and powerful motivational speeches of epic proportions at a moment's notice, as well as being naturally charismatic enough that people are inspired by him to be better than they usually would be. Increases attack, hp, def, and speed by 0% because stats aren't a thing. "Follow my lead, and lets change the world for the better!" BACKSTORY Spoiler Drake is and always has been a fighter at heart. As a child, his father was a proud warrior, often fighting the Spyrix users and mutants alike and emerging victorious. His father developed a name for himself and was well-known for his skills with a sword, almost as well-known for that as he was his reckless bravado. It was this that got him killed in the end by a mutant who had the ability to control his bone density and generate extra bones, utilising them in battle with expert efficiency. Not willing to let his father die in vain, a young Drake Famoye took to the battlefield and after a fierce battle struck a decisive blow to the mutant, ending the confrontation and avenging his father's death. With that taken care of, he began to grieve deeply for the loss of his father, now only a boy of 15 years of age without a father or mother to help him in the world. It was in this state of grievance that he met the woman that would eventually become his wife and mother to his only son. For four years, Drake managed to live a relatively peaceful life. He had the occasional battle, but for the most part it was nothing drastic. This was, sadly, not to last. One of his battles was the one Drake lost, and that was all it took. Beaten and pushed to the side like a ragdoll, the Spyrix user moved past him and began attempting to cause any and all feelings of rage and pain to flow through Drake. The climax of this moment arrived when the spyrix user began attacking his wife and newborn son. Not willing to lose them, the warrior flung himself desperately at the spyrix user. Upon landing a fatal wound, the spyrix user unveiled its secret ability and immediately began heating up to a dangerous temperature, its body becoming engulfed in fire as it went straight for Drake's family. His wife didn't survive the severe burns, dying almost immediately, leaving a sorrowful Drake Famoye and his only son. However, his son contracted a serious illness and died only a month later. A broken man, Drake pushed past that instant, becoming all the more strong for it. He used the incident to motivate him further, and started a group simply called The Scouts, a team of skilled warriors who would do whatever it took to end the horrors of the mutants and Spyrix users once and for all.
Ready for the timeskip. ONWARDS, TO THE FUTURE!
Drake simply held Flame close, enjoying the moment as much as he could. Listening to her words, he had no doubt she'd make a good leader. The way she thought about things was exactly the kind of thing Kaynta needed, and as long as she had all those around her to help her he had no doubt things would go well. Her next words came as a shock. He'd known something had changed once he'd been rescued, but even so he hadn't expected such a strong one. As she uttered the words just before releasing him from the hug, his heart skipped a beat. Apparently being thrown into a life or death scenario and facing an onslaught of titans wasn't completely bad! He wasn't entirely sure of what to say...how was he to respond? Those words had been words he'd thought he would never hear, and to have it actually happen filled him with tremendous joy, as well as stirring up a great fear within Drake, for he now had something to lose. As Amber left to prepare for the evening's festivities, Drake spent a short time still trying to figure out how to best word things...and got absolutely nowhere. Why was it so hard to talk to someone that meant so much to him? Reaching a decision, he got up and hurried to see the future queen of kaynta. He had thought he had made a firm decision, but the moment he stopped in front of the door he wasn't so sure. His legs refused to move, his hands unable to knock on the door right before him. God, he'd rather face another thousand titans than go through this. Eventually, he found the strength to continue onwards, and he knocked on the door three times exactly. He awaited a response, and when the door opened and he saw her standing there in what she'd be wearing to the ceremony, he simply gazed in awe for a moment. He'd never seen Flame dressed like that, had never really witnessed the princess-y side to her. "The word 'beautiful' doesn't even come close to describing how absolutely stunning you are" he said, miraculously finding the words. Seriously, how had someone like her even looked twice at him? He certainly knew better than to pray for any other miracles, that was for sure. "I thought about what you said earlier, and I just couldn't wait until I saw you tonight so I had to come now. I've cared about you for a long time, anyone knows that, but I don't think it truly hit me until just recently. Inside that city, I was a captive. Bound but not beaten, I refused to give up. I couldn't give up, not when I had something so important to come back for. Then I was free, and confronted by the titans, but once again I found a strength I didn't even know I had. When times looked darkest, I found the spark of light to keep me going. It was you. With someone as important to me as you to come back to, there isn't a titan in this world that can stop me. I guess what I'm trying to say is...I....I" he started, his face lighting up a bright shade of red as he blushed deeply. He closed his eyes and opened his mouth once more. "I love you too, Amber" he stated, before breathing out a huge sigh of relief. After what he'd just been through, standing up to get recognition later on would be a breeze. And it was! Without a word, he stood up, a slight smile on his face as he did so. He walked over and stopped by Amber's side for a moment, simply taking it all in, before he got down and went back to where he'd been sitting. There he simply allowed himself to enjoy the evening, the spark of passion within his heart now a powerful flame of emotion. He wondered what this meant for everything and everyone in Kaynta, but decided he didn't want to know. He'd rather see it for himself, with his own eyes, and with Amber by his side.
"The past can sting, but you only suffer more if you can't let go" -A wise Australian
Wandering around a bit of a distance away from Kaynta, Hunter was a little bothered. The walled city had been saved by his awesomeness, had nothing to do with Akari at all. Nope, it'd been all him. I mean, anyone had been able to look at the girl after she'd been saved by Griffin and seen she was a little rattled, she'd gotten over it after a little bit but during that time who had been the one spearheading the efforts to rebuild the city? Hunter had, naturally. The people needed someone to look up to, someone just oozing 'amazing' all over the place. And yet despite that, he hadn't been given any recognition at all. Bloody humans and their lack of being gratuitous. He was human, and he was thankful all the time. Every day he thanked the heavens for his gorgeous looks, his exceptionally excellent personality, his blessed skills in combat and above all his ability to make others feel inferior merely by existing in their presence. He must've been the only one. Why did it bother him so much? It shouldn't have, and he knew that...but it did. He needed something to happen by his doing that was so amazing nobody could deny it any longer. As far as he knew, everyone was at Kaynta but he knew of a local farmer that was nearby. Sure, he was only one person, but every cult following started with a single corrupted soul. The male strolled over to the farmhouse. Cupping his hands to make his voice even more obnoxiously loud, he opened his mouth and yelled out at the top of his lungs. "HEY, FARMER FUZZY PICKLE, COME OUT HERE AND BE AMAZED OR I'LL BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN" he boomed ever so courteously. He waited until he could hear the farmer coming down, and then he turned and kicked the bucket as hard as he possibly could, intending to kick it to space (as close as I could come sorry Sam). The bucket did not in fact launch into space, but what did happen was equally as awesome. The bucket flew forward and hit the ground with a thud before beginning to roll forward. One moment Hunter was swearing because of his now stubbed toe, the next he was propelled backwards by the force of an incredibly powerful explosion. The bucket had rolled onto a landmine. The impact on the farmhouse was tremendous, made only more entertaining by the fact that the farmer had come out just in time to see Hunter go right past him. The male crashed through three windows and a prize winning chicken, reducing it to a heap of bloody feathers because damn I hate birds so screw you chook, coincidence just kicked your ass something bad. Slowly Hunter got up and looked at Farmer Fuzzy Pickle, whose face was a dark red colour. The guy was fuming, and one look into his angry eyes made Hunter realise he was going to have to pay for every little thing he'd damaged, but the man was broke and had no money. Which meant only one thing; Stefano was going to do the one thing he hated more than anything else...he was going to have to spend the next couple of years at least just working, helping someone else, and god forbid he would actually have to be nice to someone. And all because Farmer Fuzzy Pickle had a fascination for land mines outside of his farmhouse, it seemed. Drake hadn't gone back to Kaynta right away with the others like he should have. The moment he'd seen the king's dead body his mental state had taken a serious hit. He'd not said a word, but had helped everything move along up until they had been about to leave the walled city. After that he had apologized to everyone, told them he had something important he had to do, and he'd left. Truth be told, he didn't have to actually do anything, he just needed a little time to process everything. The titan ambush, the capture, the fight, and then finally the king's death, it all hit him hard. He felt each and every death of a comrade or friend harder than most, so for 4 to happen in such a short span was nothing short of overwhelming, but he wasn't about to show the others. He'd found a clearing just a short distance away from the group as they'd left. He'd only taken about half an hour to sit down and sort his mind out, but that half an hour had made an immense difference. The king hadn't been just the king to him, but he'd been a good friend. More than that, the loss of the king felt like Drake had lost his father for the second time. To say it hurt was an understatement. Nearly killed him emotionally was getting close. He'd just tried to focus on the positives, on all the things he had to be thankful for. That was all it took, especially when he thought of Flame. She meant more to him than she likely realized, he should be there for her. The death was hitting him pretty hard, he could only imagine how she'd be taking it. The moment he had that thought he set out for Kaynta. If she wanted her space, he'd respect that, but at least he was going to try. He stopped when he arrived, not quite sure what to say. Amber was kneeling in front of the grave, presumably saying her goodbyes. He Drake knew better than to interrupt her, especially now, so he exercised caution while approaching her. He simply stood there for a moment in silence. Not an awkward kind of silence, but a respectful one. He knelt down himself next to her. "Amber.." he started, still not entirely certain of what should be said. At last, the words came to him. "Do you remember the day I met you? I'd never seen a more intimidating fighter. I bet if titans could feel fear, they would've been trembling before your father. The king was as powerful a fighter as he was a wise leader, and then some. A leader needs to know the right move to make and when, it's not something most people can do" the scout leader said, his voice gentle and calm. He allowed a moment for his words to reach her before continuing. "There's nothing wrong with feeling a little overwhelmed. Anyone would in your situation, especially after everything that's happened. But that's exactly why you'll make a great leader. He could see it in you, everyone else could, and I saw it right there in that city. You saved me and Veera against ridiculous odds, you fought back the titan attack but most importantly you gave people hope. You made people want to keep fighting, gave them something to believe in. He'd be proud" Drake reassured, before turning and looking at Flame. "You can do this" he said simply, grabbing her hand and squeezing it lightly. He owed it not just to the king but also to himself to be there for her, and there was nothing that would stop him from doing just that. He made a silent promise there and then that he wouldn't allow her to go through that or any other ordeal alone. He'd face as many obstacles as he had to if it meant bringing even the slightest smile to her face.
At long last, Glen was making some progress. He'd been on the defensive for a while, going literally 16 vs just him. Granted with the tremendous odds against them all, there was no way that any of them were going to have a better situation than that. Using barrier surge a short amount of time before had given him an opening of confusion as the blotlings had realised that their attacks were having no effect for that short time. Taking advantage of this, Glen had followed up with a strike raid, taking out eight of the blotlings instantaneously. Parrying an attack from one of the other blotlings, he reacted by swatting it with a powerful vertical cut and dispatching that one too. The remaining seven blotlings converged on him, and Glen quickly cast gravity on them, causing them to float in the air just as the chinese had done in the land of dragons. Compared to that vast amount of people, this was nothing, but it wouldn't last for long. He held his keyblade up above his head and called upon his miniscule magical might, releasing a mystical mine square mess of death and malevolence, making the malicious blotlings melt from the heat before simply exploding, creating a mass of ink that rained upon the keyblade wielder. With those blotlings defeated, the young keyslinger turned his attention to the magma blotling. It had consumed its ally, but that was nothing Glen hadn't seen before after facing Arma. However, its lack of mercy meant that if he asked it to look into its harddrive to find the mercy file, it would likely return with 'file not found' before shooting him with a blast of magma, so there went that option. Dashing straight towards it with a roar, the male slammed into the bloticle with a powerful sliding dash. However, he couldn't help but feel that the attack had done a smaller amount of damage than it should've... Spoiler: Results Glen has slain 16 Blotlings and injured Joan for 3BP in this post. Living: Blotlings: 779/1000 Bloticle: 8/10 Injured: Bloticle 3, Conflagration of the Stake - Joan: 29/1000
Hunter fell from the top of the wall that he'd swung up to, and as the ground came hurtling towards him he smirked a little bit and then he felt the collision. It wasn't the ground he collided with, but rather the mass of titan corpses. Between himself, Akari and Griffin, they had made a pile big enough that the titans were only able to really come through single file, and even then it took them a while. As one of the titans finally got through, Hunter leaped into action and was about to swing his blade at it, but went out of his way to avoid the titan's nape altogether. He landed just behind it, on the pile of corpses as he looked up slightly at the titan before him. It wasn't badass enough to just jump up and cut it down like that. Where was the fun in slaughtering titans if you couldn't look like a badass doing it? Looking up a little further, he found the answer immediately. He aimed his 3DMG launcher directly up and fired, the hook slamming in and latching itself straight into the top of the hole. Jumping up to avoid the swipe of a titan, he whistled. He'd never seen it up close before, never noticed it outright had enough power to go right through a solid wall like that, Akari was really talented. There was no way he was ever going to tell her that though, why inflate her ego when he could inflate his own? He pushed a button that I can't explain where it is because reasons, and immediately he flew upwards and slashed up the titan's back vertically, making a very deep cut as well as severing the nape during his ascension, slaying the titan but being very much a sitting duck when he was done, simply hanging in the air as he was. But god damn it was worth it. Hunter knew he was in trouble though. The titans would only need to begin climbing the pile and they could get to him. He needed help, but he would rather be eaten by a titan than actually ask someone else for help. Of that he was certain. Well, Hunter was a bloody idiot. He'd put his own personal glory over his own safety, just like he always did. It was just like that time he'd gotten into a fight and pulled out a grenade in the middle of it. Nobody had known where he'd gotten it from, but instead of fighting properly he had wanted to 'end it with a bang', as he'd put it. He was just lucky Akari as a crack shot with a crossbow and forced him to drop it before any major damage had happened. Anyway, back to Hunter being in this stupid situation. "Hunter, what are you doing? Do you need me to help?" she called out, but as expected she got no answer. To ask for help would be him admitting he couldn't get himself out of a situation on his own, and that was very much not who he was. And so, as usual she would have to pick up his slack. She remembered catching Hunter before, the way it had worked and worked damn well at that, and knew right away she was going to have to do it again. Leaning over the edge of the wall, she aimed the 3DMG straight at the pigheaded male's back and fired. It missed his head, but she'd anticipated that, missed his shoulders too, but he swung ever so slightly in one direction and the hook went right through his foot, getting a solid grip on him. The yell of pain was enough that Akari nearly burst out laughing, but she held strong and pulled him up. There he'd been, happily hanging there and very accepting of his death, when suddenly he'd felt a damn hook go through his foot. It was Akari, of course it was her. The girl shied away from combat, but if it was a chance to cause some sort of injury to him she always took it. Always. What had he ever done to deserve that? He didn't say thanks when he was pulled up, but instead snatched her 3DMG out of her hands. The hole was plugged, so no titans would get through there for a while, and so he reasoned what he was about to do was completely reasonable. "You shot me with that for the last time" he growled, turning and hurling the 3DMG off the wall and towards a certain swordsman running along the ground. With the titans being just about completely finished in their area, Flame had taken off with her 3DMG and Drake had followed. Running on foot compared to soaring through the air felt so slow though, and though he kept running he found himself wishing he had one of the launchers, but they didn't exactly just fall out of the sky. Although apparently on that day one did. At first Drake wasn't sure what it was, but he'd quickly realised his prayers had been answered. He put himself into a position where he could catch it, and did just that. The impact hurt his arms tremendously, but time was of the essence. He took a quick glance around to make sure there were no titans, and saw Veera up and moving. Well, on one hand he wanted her to go and rest, on the other they needed every last fighter they could get, and so he used the miraculous 3DMG and swung over to her. Landing on the ground nearby the female, he wasted no time. "Good to see you on your feet. The titans are thinning in numbers, we need to group up with the others and finish this. Grab on and- hold on just one moment" Drake said, just as he caught sight of yet another 3DMG launcher hurtling towards him. He caught that one as expertly as he had the first, and handed it to Veera. "Here, use this and lets put a stop to these titans. Follow me" the scout regiment leader ordered, before swinging off in the direction he'd seen Flame land in just as he heard a slap so powerful it echoed through the area.
Pretty soon, I might be making my return to here. Maybe. Got some stuff I have to sort out first, but if I do come back I'll hopefully be posting...
Just as Drake was about to be a titan's next meal, he found himself freed from the grip of the monster. Then he had a new problem in that his 3DMG was unusable and he was quickly falling to his death. Well wasn't that just lovely. However this, too, was quickly solved by his rescuer. Stunned, he watched Flame slaughter the titan that had harmed him, and made a mental note to try not to really piss her off. "Well, I guess this makes us even" he said, thinking back to the time where he as a child had saved the princess with the help of the king. At the thought of the king, curiousity arose within the young warrior. In such an important battle, the king was nowhere to be seen. That was more than a little unusual, but he quickly reasoned he was probably negotiating with the humans. Given the issues the people seemed to have with the fae and indeed all of Kaynta, there was no doubt that any sort of reasoning or truce with them would take some serious political skills. As yet another titan tried to crush Drake with its huge foot, the scout regiment leader nimbly dodged out of the way, sliding slightly to the side. The titan's foot slammed straight through the building, sending debris everywhere as Drake fell down with it. Once the dust had settled, a small flicker of rage inside of Drake's heart became a raging inferno as he was reminded yet again of all the lives the titans had ruined. He could see many remnants of a once happy family here, a family that reminded him very much of how his life had been before he'd left. Photographs and destroyed furniture was everywhere, the photographs displaying a happy, smiling child that had a strong resemblance to how he'd once looked. He knew it wasn't him, but he couldn't help but feel sorry for them. There was a good chance they'd made it out of the city or at least out of the part they were in, and he knew that, but to have to flee a happy lifestyle because of those monsters...it was horrible. Pulling himself out of the rubble, Drake had a fierce look of determination on his face. How many had to sacrifice their happiness before the titans were stopped? How many had to die for them? He held his blades tightly as he took a step forward. "Frank, Bill, Carla. I won't let your deaths be for nothing" the swordsman stated, his voice quiet and grim as he made a dash for the titan before him. As he got closer, the titan once again lashed out at him with its foot, but Drake rolled out of the way and stabbed his blades into the foot of the monster, rising up into the air as the creature tried to get rid of him. As the foot went to its peak height, the scout leader ripped the swords out and allowed himself to get flung upwards, soaring into the sky from the momentum. He angled his body as he came back down, falling straight down towards his victim. He came down with a tremendously powerful strike, digging his blades into the titan's nape and slicing it immediately, continuing to leave a deep cut halfway down the titan's back. He had no 3DMG, but he was still athletic enough to make up for it. As the lifeforce left the titan he had just slain, Drake pulled his blades out and leaped forward, aiming to land on another titan's shoulder so he could continue the fight. OOC: Garrett for the love of god please have Griffin do something other than just stand there I'm waiting on you at the moment :(
Finishing off the titan he was fighting, Drake landed nimbly on the ground as Flame arrived. Truth be told, the thought of her being there worried him greatly, but it also empowered him. "Together" he repeated simply, as the warrior princess took off again. He, too, fired his hook away, and right as he was going to use the mechanism to pull himself forward, he was suddenly stunned as a new fighter entered the scene, two new fighters actually. Kala he wasn't that surprised by, but the fact that she was riding on the back of a creature half man and half horse was incredible. There was a god ****ing damn centaur. An actual centaur. Drake decided there and then, if he were to ever reach a rank where he had a mighty steed to ride into battle, that centaur was going to be the first he'd try for. Amidst his distraction, Drake hadn't noticed a titan heading over to him. Their numbers were dropping, but there were still more than enough, how had he missed that one? The giant grabbed onto Drake, who began trying to escape immediately. He slashed with his sword a couple of times, but he may as well have been trying to move a mountain with a wet noodle for all it did. His next attempt held more promise, he began retracting the 3DMG, attempting to pull himself forward. The cable strained underneath the effort, and the titan ripped back Drake further away from the wall he'd attached himself to, snapping the cable clean and ripping the 3DMG away from Drake. Well crap, if the titan didn't kill him, Akari probably would. As the titan began raising him to its mouth and his body went a little limp from the pressure, a powerful wave of disappointment hit the scout leader as he realized how careless he'd been.
They'd finally arrived at the hole, and needless to say it had quite a few titans there. Some looked as though they were trying to get inside past their titan brethren, others didn't seem to care, but one thing was very worrying and that was that there didn't seem to be nearly as many titans as Hunter had expected. While most would be relieved at this, Hunter knew that it meant many, many titans had likely made their way into the walled city already, and that meant more work for him. Enjoyable, fun work, but work nonetheless. "Get up there and see if you can distract them, that'll make it easier to cut them down. Not that I need it, but it makes things quicker" Hunter ordered, receiving a nod from Akari as she took off towards the top of the wall, where she would begin distracting them by yelling and doing everything she could think of to get their attention. "Hey, Faceless (Griffin), you're going to watch my back. I might be amazing in every way, but I don't have eyes on the back of my head, so you'll have to do. Make sure none of those titans sneak up on me in the chaos, right? Go on, no use standin' there, off you go, we have killing to do" the warrior said, turning his attention to look at the swarm of titans before him. "At least try to make it look like you lot are competent" he said, before diving forward like the idiot he was, blades at the ready and a powerful battlecry being released from within. While Hunter was only beginning to fight the titans, Drake had already begun quite some time ago. The area was filling quite quickly with titan corpses, though it was taking a strain on the scouting regiment leader. Taking a quick breather, he pulled himself up on top of one of the buildings and took a quick glance around. Not an ally in sight, not anywhere nearby him at least. Where were they? He knew he'd said he was going to go alone if he had to, but he hadn't actually expected them to let him. The look of worry vanished on his face almost as quickly as it had come, as a slightly confident smirk appeared on Drake's face. With the others around, he'd be having to watch out for them and worry constantly, but this way he only had to watch his own back. The others would be safe. He just had to bring down as many titans as he could and pray that a miracle would happen. He heard rapid thumping coming from his right, in time to see a titan come barreling towards him and swing a huge fist at him. Quick as a flash, the male leaped up and out of the way, before firing his 3DMG at the titan's cheek. He pulled himself in, taking advantage of the opening that the titan had just made. He dashed around to the back of the titan and lashed out with one of his blades, slicing the nape clean and killing the titan, swinging away with his equipment as the huge corpse fell to the ground. Just as he was getting into a rhythm, he was hit in the air by another titan, sending him spiralling out of control and straight towards another building, about to go down in history as simply another bloodsplatter. He wasn't about to let that happen, and just before he hit the rubble he fired his 3DMG at the titan's knee he had been hit by, using the momentum and the angle to swing at a stupidly fast speed around and out of danger, hurtling straight towards his foe. He held the blades before him and braced, slamming into the front of the titan's thick leg and ploughing straight through it, emerging the other side and stabbing his blades onto the other side of the knee. The titan naturally collapsed onto the ground as it lost all its support, and Drake Famoye took advantage of it by ascending the titan's back and making a quick slash at the back of the titan's neck, ending it immediately. He stopped, panting a little bit as he took note of his surroundings once more. Standard rubble littered the area, there were more than a few regular human bodies laying around, and titan corpses. Oh, and the mass of titans heading towards him, how could he forget about those? Drake sighed, hoping the others got there soon if they would ever show. Good as he was, he doubted that even he could kill that many titans alone, but damn he was going to go down trying. With an uncomfortable grunt as he got up from his crouching position, the one man army fired his 3DMG off once again and he was off, ready to save the city that he had long since abandoned.
Spoiler: The next chapter Shane Ware had never made it to the next floor. He'd gotten halfway up the staircase, each step pushing him further and further towards his destination and ultimately decreasing his stability. He hadn't shown it to anyone, in fact he'd barely acknowledged it himself, but slowly his dark side was making it to the surface. He knew it, had known for a while, but there was very little he could do about it. It's your fault He knew exactly what his subconsciousness was trying to do. It wanted him to give in, it wanted him to relinquish control so that his true power could emerge. If that happened, he would never have any problems again, he'd be powerful enough to tear apart anything that ever threatened to him, and everything that didn't. Nobody would be safe, he wasn't going to have another incident. They would be safe. The people caught in it, no further harm would come to them. The dead feel no pain. He knew what it was referring to. The people that had been killed, not in an accident but by his hands. He could still remember feeling backed up against a wall, being pressured by the people to use his powers to benefit them. He could feel their greedy stares bearing down upon him, attempting to force him into doing something he had promised himself never to do. You can also feel their agony, the pain that you caused. You can hear the screams, the unending screams of despair and torture as all humanity was ripped from them at the same time as their mind was torn apart. It was right. He had done it, he had killed them. What made it worse was a small part of him had enjoyed it, and he knew that. Those people had had everything taken from them in an instant. It was the first time Shane had forced himself into his Darkside View, and it was the day he had opened up another side of him. A side that had always been there, but had always laid dormant. But after that day it had been dormant no longer, always a sneaking voice in the back of his mind. He turned and began heading back down the stairs, one hand on his now throbbing head and the other on the walls of the narrow staircase so as to stabilise himself. He was going back, he was leaving. It had been a mistake to come here, a mistake to test himself. The stronger he got, the stronger the voice got, and the harder it became to resist. He was slowly losing himself, and he had only sped up that process. Shane made it to the bottom of the staircase and over to the one that lead to the floor below before he finally collapsed, one knee keeping him up. His head hurt so much. This power inside of him was pushing to be released, and it would not take no for an answer. He could hold it back, he was sure of it. He had to, he wasn't going to hurt anyone else if he could help it. He wasn't going to let anyone else wind up like R- She trusted you. She believed in you, saw you for who you really were, and accepted you. And you repaid her by torturing her emotionally, creating memories that weren't there and then finally frying her brain, killing her. No, it was wrong. The voice was wrong, it had to be. It had been an accident, she knew that...didn't she? He hadn't known how to use his powers, he'd been forced into something he hadn't wanted, and she'd paid the price. But he hadn't meant to, he hadn't! He would never hurt her! No, you didn't hurt her. You murdered her. You're the reason she's dead! At this, Shane began clutching his head as tears began flowing down his face which was now twisted in silent agony. After a moment, he could hold it in no longer. He broke down completely. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD! GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT!!" he screamed, not a trace of his usually calm composure remaining. He wanted to do anything to stop the voice, to silence it forever, but he couldn't. No matter what he did, it was part of his subconsciousness, and no amount of powerful mind reading was going to change that. Shane Ware couldn't manage it, but maybe someone else would have better luck. Shane began drawing upon every last reserve of energy he had, focusing every ounce of his telepathy on himself. He saw every memory he had ever experienced, every bit of joy and every bit of sadness, anger and hurt. Every emotion he'd ever felt, everything that was in his mind that made him who he was. As he passed each one, he erased it; reconstructing his memory as he went along. He began bashing his head against the wall as he did so, the internal pain becoming unbearable for him, but he couldn't stop. Finally he came to his most precious memory. His most precious one, and also his most hated one. The memory of that night. The night everything had changed. He remembered her confessing her love to him, he remembered the feeling of joy but also the feeling of guilt as he had told her that he didn't care about her in that way. That was about ten minutes before the others had tried to exploit him. She'd gone to comfort him and try to stop the others, she'd been the only one who had cared, and she'd been the first to die. "I'm...I'm sorry Raina. I'm not strong enough. I wasn't then, and I'm not now" the telepath said, his voice breaking under the emotional pressure he was putting on himself. He had loved her, he just hadn't known it at the time. He'd never had the chance to tell her, and he never would. It was one of many regrets he had, but it was the biggest. He worked his magic, and that memory like the others was gone. He had a clean slate, a new opportunity to start his life, but not while he knew what he had done. With a last surge of power, Shane used his memory reconstruction to erase all the memories he had of the tower, including the one he had just created, before he lost himself to the realm of unconsciousness, passing out there and then on the cold, hard floor of the tower of power. The boy woke up, his body and mind aching all over. He didn't move, didn't get up. He couldn't remember a thing. He could only remember three words, constantly echoing inside his empty mind. A repetition of 'Shane, get out'. Was he Shane? He had no idea, but that was all he had to go off of. As for the last part, that one was simple enough. He had to escape, apparently. Getting up slowly, he began walking down the staircase before him, heading down it as he made his way to the exit. He would continue this process until he made his way to the very bottom, where he would at last leave the Tower of Power behind him. Spoiler: Redemption Oscar had made his way down and out of the tower. Each step he took away from his brother was a challenge in itself. As much as he hated to admit it, he needed his brother as much as Samuel needed him. His brother helped keep him focused and on task, and while Oscar was reckless his brother was careful, often planning out the most efficient strategy for everything. And yet, despite all this, Samuel could not follow; not where Oscar was going. He was going back. Samuel needed to grow on his own without his older brother constantly being there, he needed to become the man he ought to be, not the boy relying on the protection of his older brother. More than that though was the other need that the swordsman had ignored. He'd been running for a very long time from it, never stopping in one place too long in the hopes eventually he could outrun time itself. He was the reason for his town's death, and he hadn't told Samuel that, but it hadn't been him alone. The one who had forced him to use the mask, the one who had threatened to destroy everything he held dear if he hadn't given into his foe's demands, that was who he had been running from. He'd had enough of running, he was going to fix things himself. "I'm coming, Vex" he said quietly as the rain outside of the tower continued pouring down onto him, his face a perfect picture of grim determination. Spoiler: Darkness takes hold Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, not going to write one for Gexln unless anyone cares enough to read one lol
Akari had been kneeling, as had seemed fitting when Flame had been acknowledged as the Queen, but the moment she told Kala to rise Akari had also stood up straight. It was hard to believe that Flame was the Queen, but she would have to get used to it. She nodded in response to the newly appointed queen's request, no..order, of filling in the hole. There was no idea forming inside her mind for how to do it, in fact it seemed impossible, but there wasn't much of a choice. As long as that hole was there, more and more titans would enter the city and thus they would never be able to prevail. "Consider it done" she stated. She looked at Griffin and shrugged her shoulders before wandering over. "I guess we're on miracle duty today" she said, before looking out over the city. She could see the hole, and damn was it a big one. How was she meant to fix that? "If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them, but for now I'm going to go get our third member" she explained, before firing her 3DMG and heading towards the hole. After having stopped to slay a couple of titans on the way, Hunter was finally making his way towards the thick of it, following behind Drake. He was soaring gracefully through the air, putting Peter Parker to shame with his maneuverability as he shot his gear around everywhere, attaching hooks to walls and flying forwards a mass of titans. He had bloodlust in his heart, not the dead RP but the emotion, and rocketed straight towards one of the colossal manbeasts. Right as he was about to slam his sword into one of them, he felt a sharp jab of pain in his back, before he began accelerating at a rapid pace....away from them. He wasn't accelerating, he was decelerating. What the actual ****. He flew straight past several buildings, being painfully ripped away from his grand adventure, until he began slowing down and eventually he came to a halt, staring straight up at the sky and at a very serious looking Akari. "The hell do you want? You can't just interrupt a man's genocide, what is wrong with you?" he complained. Akari was rather pleased with her idea. From the top of a building, she had fired her 3DMG hook towards Hunter, effectively shot him with it in the back, and reeled him in. A good use for it indeed, if she didn't say so herself. "Genocide requires you to actually kill something" the girl responded coyly. Angrily, Hunter rolled over, ripped the hook off of his back and stood up, towering over the small inventor before him. "Yeah well maybe I should start with you" "Not going to help. We've been given a mission from the queen herself, we're to-" "Hold up. The queen?" "Yes, the queen. She told us to-" "Who made her queen? I didn't vote for her" "As the daughter of the king, it makes sense" "You mean the king's finally stepped down?" "Not...not exactly. He died, Hunter" "....oh. Well just because the king does something stupid and go-" Hunter hadn't gotten another word in before he was slapped hard across the face with such force it physically moved him, and left a loud echo through the area. It was the most painful slap of his life. Slowly he turned to face her, his face now having a glowing red handprint. He expected her to be cowering, expected her to be apologizing or fleeing, but no; instead her saw a mixture of determination, anger, and the slightest hint of sorrow given away by welling tears in her eyes. For a brief second, Hunter was about to punch the girl in the face and move on in life, but something about her struck home. He knew her backstory, they'd been sort of friends for a while, and he knew she'd been through hell. This place must have brought all those feelings back, and then for the person she looked up to to die, it must have been excruciating for her. Still wasn't his problem, and he wasn't going to do anything about it, but still, it saved her for the moment. "Don't you dare speak ill of the king" "Whatever" "Now you are going to stand here and listen, and I don't give a damn if you like it or not but you are going to go along with it. Understood?" "Sure, why the hell not" "Titans are in the city, but you know that. We're going to fix this, but we have to start by filling up that giant hole, plugging it up somehow. No idea how we are going to do it, but let-" "What if we killed so many titans their bodies piled up and they couldn't get through?" "Are you even listening? What a stupid idea, they woul- holy crap, Hunter you're a genius" "Ain't the first time I've heard that" "I mean of course it would only be temporary, but it might give us enough time to figure something out, while thinning down their numbers a little. You did it, Hunter, you finally did it. You had an idea so stupid it was brilliant. Let's go to the hole, wait for Griffin, and start fixing it!" Akari ordered, taking off in the direction of the hole.
My inner demons begin to emerge, the cracks on the surface begin to show, and the voices cease their silence at long last.
For a brief moment, Drake considered stopping and listening to Flame. The worry in her voice was almost enough to keep him there, but it was that same worry that drove him forward. "You won't lose me, Amber. This city was the city my father died protecting, and I have no plans to follow him on that, but there are people that need me, people that need my help. No matter what happens here, I will return to you, I promise you that. Like you said, this is what we were trained to do. It's what I've been preparing for the day I came to Kaynta. I went there seeking help, and I found it. I also found something I wasn't expecting; I found a reason to fight. You are that reason, and as long as that remains true I can face a thousand titans head-on and I'll never stop fighting" the leader of the scouts said. Drake then turned and fired his 3DMG hook at one of the buildings, causing it to stick into the building and tighten. With one press, he would be flung in that direction as he had been so many times. Turning to look at Flame momentarily, he gave a half cocky grin. "This is the day we show them they were wrong about us, the day that we prove to them we're more than the scum they think we are" the male said, before he launched himself off, followed quickly by Hunter who isn't important enough to get a post of his own. This was about more than him, more than Amber, more than any one of them. This was about all of Kaynta. He would do this, for their sake. Akari swallowed and stepped forward. She picked up the other half of the king's body, trying her best not to look at the king's face but ultimately she couldn't avoid it. There he was, the man she had respected most, dead before her. Who could have killed such a great leader? Was it really possible that some regular human had taken him down? She doubted it, but there was no other explanation...and if he really had been taken down by a human, she hoped she was there to see him get caught. That would be the day she would invent a new method of execution, one fitting for such scum as them. She began carrying the body back towards the others, fuming at the anger she was feeling beneath her calm demeanor.
Akari was very impatient, fidgeting and looking very bothered indeed. Usually she could exercise a great deal of patience, but when it came to the king's whereabouts or any of the people she looked up to, waiting was torture for her. The moment she heard Flame speak was the moment she picked up on the urgency in her voice, though she did take a moment to consider that maybe it was her mind just making her hear things. "I don't remember hearing a whistle, but I was a little distracted on the way here. Maybe Tessa heard something? I'll go track her down and see if I can help her find the king" the fae said. She turned in the direction she recalled Tessa going in, and launched herself off with the 3DMG hastily, eager to catch up. She rounded a corner before landing on the ground, shifting into her wolf form to get the scent. Tessa's wasn't overly familiar, but she'd run into the girl enough times to recognise it when it presented itself, which thankfully it did. She caught up to her comrade somewhat quickly, being an expert with the 3DMG as well as having the tracking capabilities (the scream made it remarkably easy to find her too). It was easier for her to find Tessa than it had been for Tessa to find the king, she was betting, due to Akari heading straight towards the scent and not having to scour the entire city to find it. She rocketed towards the girl, using the 3DMG to keep her speed as she opened her mouth and called out to Tessa, only for her words to be cut off as she saw what Tessa was kneeling in front of. Shocked, Akari lost her concentration and screwed up the landing, falling forward face-first onto the ground and rolling forward a little bit. No words came as she looked at the body of the fallen king. As she staggered over to the body, tears filled her eyes as she looked upon the man she had looked up to. He'd been more than a king to her, he'd been her friend, or at least she had liked to think so. More than that though, he had been like a father, not just to her but to so many people in Kaynta. "First my mother, then my father, and now you....will the humans never learn? Will they never stop?" she said quietly, tears flowing down her face. She knelt down beside the body of the king and sobbed for a moment. For all her inventive talents, she had never and likely never would invent something to bring back the dead. Once the sobbing had quietened, she stood up and looked at Tessa. She wanted to give the girl a hug, but she'd never been particularly close to the girl, and she knew how fast sorrow could turn to rage at the slightest thing that made a person uncomfortable. She wiped away tears and pointed in the direction she'd come from. "Tessa, can you help me lift him up and take him back please? He didn't deserve this, and he doesn't deserve to have his final resting place be here with these....these...things. He should be at rest at home, where everyone else can visit if they want. I don't have the emotional or physical strength to carry him all the way back myself, please?" she questioned, her voice a little shaky due to the emotions but the girl doing her best to conceal her emotions. As Akari left, Drake became more restless. Where was the king and Tessa, why weren't they back? Now they'd lost Akari too, albeit temporarily. He wasn't sure he could keep from being worried, or keep standing there watching Flame's worry for her father. He had to do something, something to make things better for them. "We don't know where they are or how long they will be, but we do know one thing. With each minute that passes, the titans grow stronger in numbers. The longer we take, the harder it's going to be. I'm going to go thin their numbers a little. We don't know what went wrong tonight, but everybody's got no place to hide. If we wait, no one will be left and there will be no one to go on. All I know is our lives are gone, changed from this point onwards. I don't want to help these people after the problems they have caused, but I can't just sit by and watch their city be destroyed anymore. My father would've been out there fighting, and that's what I'm going to do" Drake stated, drawing his blades and taking a step forward. He glanced at Flame quickly, fully expecting her to try to stop him. He wouldn't let it happen though. There were only two situations he could see himself disregarding everything she said; if people were in a crisis, or if Flame herself were in danger. The first had already occurred, and if he didn't act soon so would the second, he was willing to bet.
Well, neither did I. Well, it's not entirely true...I've been thinking about it for a while now, I just never thought I'd actually go through with it. To be honest, I don't think anyone outside of the RPA is going to care about this too much. Those in the RPA it probably won't anyway, after all I don't post nearly as much as I should. Sorry about that guys, truly. I'll see if I can keep this short, but no promises. Basically, everything in my life has gotten far too much to handle. Between literally about 30 days of family tragedies and drama I thought I'd escaped and all the drama online, I can't handle it. I can't cope with it anymore. This isn't a suicide thread, and I'm not going to do anything like that so don't worry about that. I initially joined KHV out of curiousity, I figured I'd make some friends and have a little fun. And damn did I do that...seriously, I have had so much fun on this site over the years I hoped it would never end, but this is something I had to do. As for friends, well anyone who knows me knows that I value each and every one of my friends. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for my friends if it would help them feel even a little better. Unfortunately though, I don't know that I can do that right now. Right now, I can barely keep it together (in fact there have been quite a few days I haven't). How am I supposed to help others if I can't help myself? I have made some of the most amazing friends I could ever ask for, and even though we've had our rough times I would hope that our friendship can transcend KHV and last for a much longer time outside of it. For one of you, I fear that time is already up for us, and I think both of us know it, so to you....I can't tell you how sorry I am, really. This site started as curiousity, as a source of fun, and eventually it became a coping mechanism. Roleplaying especially helped with things. Then gradually it became less of an enjoyment and more like my job, then eventually it felt like torture putting myself through it, and that's where we are at now. I will continue to post in the Attack on Titan roleplay thread until it's done, but aside from that....well, I might check in every once in a while but I can't see myself actually doing anything else. I apologise once again to all those whose roleplays I am abandoning, but this isn't something I want to do; it's something I need to do. If anyone wants to reach me, I'll still be active on Skype, League of Legends, Facebook and on my PS4. This has been a little lengthier than I originally intended, but we're almost done. I didn't plan on it having so much writing, gah it looks so bland, but I just wanted to attempt to help you all understand. I could make special mentions to many people, but let's be honest; to those I would make mentions to, there is no way that this is the end of our friendship, or at least I certainly hope not. It's been a wild ride, and one I am exceptionally thankful to have been on. Thanks for having me be a part of it. ~Dr_Wigglz/Smurfasaurus/Shu/Gexln/Glen/Sice/any other usernames I can't think of XD also, I couldn't NOT make the title a reference, forgive me.
