Zephyr waited til the current conversation had come to a close before speaking up himself. "Hey Midarah, can I speak with you in private when we get back." The ominous warning that the spider demon had left them was still on his mind, which at the very least was something Midarah should know about. That said, when he'd it aloud he wouldn't be surprised if everyone was wondering what it was now. Even still there wasn't much that could be done about that. Zephyr still sat by awaiting his answer.
The willow tree knew a lot about what had gone on outside and even had a way for them to help. A pathway had opened up for them to take. It had guided them to a keyhole, something Kel had not seen for quite some time. "A keyhole, that makes sense strangely enough." Keyhole aside, Kel had started to look around to see if there was anything else was to notice.
Morning had arisen and Kel had evidently been the last to awaken, though it was no fault of his own. Asking the Englishmen for a lift was the best option that they had really, so why not go for it. That was the intention anyway before they ended up stumbling upon a talking tree. Kel was actually a bit surprised by that too. "You can tell?" Kel remarked, following the trees comment towards Luna.
Despite his fear of falling, Chrono wasn't opposed to the idea of them flying by means that wasn't their glider and so when they had started to float in the air he found himself momentarily in awe at how weightless he seemed. The moment was fleeting for an outcry of Torrin's had grounded the group before they could truly start flying. Slightly disappointed at this matter, Chrono had followed behind the others as they left.
Kel had silently listened to what Aislinn had to get off of her chest. It was something that he'd never really considered up until now. He had just chosen to leave one day and that was that. By no means was it a comparable situation to what Aislinn was going through. "Well." His slow shifting of wight had come to a close and instead, he turned his attention up towards the stars to admire just how many were up above, shining brightly in the night's sky. "With us being so far away from our homes, hoping for the best is really all we're left with. If everything goes well then your home should be fine." If this could give her something positive to think about until that day came, then Kel could consider his advice to be a success. For now, he nodded at the notion of getting some sleep after looking away from the stars. Posts: 31/31
Being royalty really did come with its own share of weight and while he wouldn't be able to truly understand it, he did know where Luna was coming from and merely smiled as a result. That smile lasted as he shifted awkwardly as he knew not what to do when Aislinn had started crying. He rarely knew what to do in these kind of situations and was fully ready to let Luna handle it herself, but he felt the need to say something. "Everyone gets homesick now and again, more reason to bring this whole thing with No heart to a close right?" Kel said with a light-hearted chuckle hoping that would help. Posts: 30/31
"Its good that you told us though, that must've been some burden to try and carry by yourself." While admirable, it was also a little reckless, but he was the last person who needed to be scolding anyone over being reckless or trying to shoulder a burden by themselves. "I appreciate the trust though." Up above the stars had continued to shine brightly above it, making for a beautiful sight above them. Posts: 29/31
Kel nodded in affirmation to Luna's one request and listened to what she said. None of the names she'd listed at first rang any bells, well other than Minnie, but as for the others nothing stuck out to him. "Oh." Was all he had to say at first when Luna gave away what she had been keeping to herself. He was understandably surprised at first, trying to come to terms with what he was just told himself. "Aislinn's right." Kel started. "Its not like we're going to suddenly start treating you differently just cause of this. We're friends after all." Posts: 28/31
Luna herself had had much more thought out plan for herself when this was all over. "You certainly got your hands full. If you need any help, I'd be willing to lend a hand." That was assuming he would ever learn where it was her homeworld was, to begin with. Getting there was not so much of an issue at this point thanks to their gliders. Luna's deep breaths following her statement had changed the overall mood of the conversation. "Was it someone important or that we know?" Kel adjusted himself while turning to face Luna at the same time. Posts: 27/31
Kel hadn't been expecting to be called out on that and didn't have a response right off the bat. Thankfully he didn't need to come up with one as the sky had fully transitioned into night, revealing the veil of stars hanging overhead. This allowed for the perfect distraction on top of accomplishing something he's always wanted to see himself. "I suppose I'll go back home when everything's said and done." He's never given it much thought actually. Yes, there was something he needed to do back home as well, but after that what? Just relaxing would be odd after everything he's been through. Posts: 26/31
That hadn't been what Gale thought he would get as an answer, but the evidence was there and as clear as day. The chase continued with the guy losing speed after being hit by one of Rex's attacks and instead of doing the same, Gale wondered if they could just cut off his path. Gale looked through his spellbook to see what options he had at his disposal. Fire didn't quite fit the intended action here which left the wind skill he'd just recently obtained. His hand was outstretched in front of him and Gale visualized the intended spots he wanted the tornados to be with a little concentration, two appeared in the guy's direct path as well as his immediate right. Continuing in either direction would lead to him getting hurt and slow him down, whereas someone else could either cut him further cut him off with there being one 'safe' path for them to go.
Other than chopping and gathering firewood, Kel didn't know what to do form this point either. Luna was the only one who actually was the expert on all this. Taking another bite out of the fish, he followed Aislinn gaze up towards the sky. "Maybe we can." Eventually, these colors would be replaced with the darkness of night and the stars would have their turn to come out. Truth be told it was on the list of things that he's wanted to see first hand for quite some time. Posts: 25/31
Aislinn wasn't the only one who had been surprised by the amount of fish Luna had gotten in the time it had taken him to gather those sticks, there was also the speed in which Aislinn had cook the fish. All of which had gone a lot faster, and much easier, than he was expecting it to go honestly. Once everything was ready he grabbed himself one fish and took a bite out it. The saltiness of the fish toppled with the hint of orange added at the last minute had done well to bring out the full flavor of the fish and was easily noticed by the 'mmm' noise that Kel had made following his first bite. "So, what's next on the camping agenda?" Gathering firewood was about as far as his knowledge went. They could always resort to just talking though. Always an option. Posts: 24/31
With his jump Kel realized that he'd overestimated his jump and was just short of reaching the branch. The fact that he was close was promising though and prompted his next action. He stuck his keyblade into the tree and jumped onto it and leaped up towards the branch he'd tried to grab before. With that extra boost, he was able to make it up to the branch. From there it had taken him getting up to the next one before he could start cutting down some of the larger branches with his keyblade, that he'd called back to him once situated. With three fairly sizeable branches in hand and some of the other ones down at the base of the tree, Kel had gathered everything that he needed for the fire. Getting down the tree was much easier and faster than climbing it, which lead to Kel getting back to the camp rather quickly. "You guys work fast." Tents and fish have already been gathered and here he was with nothing but stick and branches in his hand. Posts: 23/31
At first Kel had started to go about collecting stick just like he said he was going to do, but after grabbing a handful of the ones lying on the ground he noticed that they were extremely thin. Way to thin to be actual firewood. Hmm, that brought up another problem. Sure he could've started chopping down a tree, but he wasn't going to start chopping down any of the trees here. Maybe some of the branches would be suitable. There were much larger the higher up and after briefly measuring the distance from where he was to the nearest branch, he could make it there in few strides. Posts: 22/31
"You helped us out, least we could do is to return the favor." Zephyr said, smiling as his hands found their way into his pockets. He was starting to feel a bit more at ease about this whole thing. Even if the trial was something that they would have to deal with, later on, it was still a ways off and not the prime concern right now. There was still something else on his mind though, something he would likely bring up later on with Midarah. At the very least I should tell her about it. For now, such thoughts were cast aside until they actually got back to the guild hall.
There hadn't been any moments of awkwardness in which Chrono would need to try and keep the conversation between the two of them going. It was still awkward at times though Torrin's story had been interesting to listen to, especially since Chrono was pretty sure Torrin had just described Santa Claus. Guess the realm of darkness had some of the same beliefs that they had. The star-shaped fruit was interesting to hear about, but not something he could think to add something on. Tinarah's response though was something he'd chosen not to think about. Chrono nodded in Torrin's direction and grabbed his plate of practically finished food and placed it in the dish. Naturally, he'd washed it as the one who used it. Other than that there wasn't much left for him to get thus making him ready. "Thanks for everything." Chrono said. Torrin had said that there was 'no answer' when he had tried contacting them earlier. He didn't want to think of the worse, but they should hurry so that the worry doesn't come to pass. Thus Chrono had been the first one to go through the portal.
They were all in agreement on this camping trip and on Luna's guidance, they ventured into the woods. He gave a quick wave to Nanaki and the Natives before doing so. After a while, they had reached a spot deemed suitable for them to set up camp and Aislinn had volunteered to start a fire. Despite not knowing much about camping, Kel has seen people chopping logs to make firewood. They could just magic up some flames, but he didn't either any of them wanted to start a forest fire. "I'll grab some sticks and stuff to help with the fire." Kel didn't have to go far too as there a fair amount of stick just laying around the trees near them. Posts: 21/31
Everything that they had control over had been dealt with, John being healed to the best of Aislinn's ability, Ratcliffe being dragged away by the Englishmen and not a single trace of the heartless left. Usually, at this point, they would leave this world and reconvened with everyone else. Usually, they also knew where everyone else was and this time neither of those were options that they had. "Sure, nows as good as a time as any." Kel said, having this downtime felt slightly odd, but no point in letting it go to waste. Posts: 20/31
Kel did falter from his position despite Ratcliffe's threats. There wasn't much concern in him about making good on his word to hang them and those threats were shortlived as Ratcliffe soon found himself both bound and gagged by his fellow Englishmen. This did actually allow Kel to lower his keyblade and look towards Aislinn. "That's good." He muttered at the fact that John's slowly improving condition. Posts: 19/31
