I used to be a member here a long time ago. My last visit was in 2008, so i that makes me an old-timer. It's been some time since then. I tried logging in on a whim and found that for some godforsaken reason, my profile was still on the website. So, i guess i'm back!
Green Manhattan In the beginning, there was chaos. Nations were rising up against each other, and times were bad for everyone. The missiles flew across the sky, and in the end, all but a few were left rotting on the ground. The few that did survive the horrible times of war and death did their duty as members of the human race- they began to build up again. And thus, they made the ultimate utopia- a great city known as Fiddler’s Green. It seemed like paradise- war, disease, hunger and poverty had been stripped away, and everything seemed like heaven. No one had any worries at all. Anyone could get just about whatever they wanted with no trouble at all, and their every desire was fulfilled. Such a peaceful, wonderful haven of joy. Why would anyone leave? And yet, there are those that do. They probably have their reasons. Some might argue that Fiddler’s green isn’t truly real, that people have gotten out of touch with their past. That people have grown shallow and indulgent, and lack individuality or creativity. And so, some who broke away have claimed their own territory. They were decidedly more spread out, as a result of running away from developed society to live on their own. However, the majority of the ones who left made their homes in the destroyed ruins of an older city. Since they only knew so much history, they didn’t know the city’s name. And so, they called it Manhattan (note: this is not named after the section of New York. The Manhattan project was the name of the project by the US to develop the first nuclear weapon in WWII). The two societies have lived in relative peace thus far, keeping their own borders. However, with different societies come different views, and different views inevitably bring conflict… Could history be doomed to repeat itself? The different societies: Fiddler’s Green Fiddler’s green, as stated before, is a vast city, approximately the size of the state of Rhode Island. It was built on the idea that for people to survive, they need to be happy. Therefore, the rules are relatively loose, and the people generally behave themselves. After all, what need do they have to bite the hand that feeds them? On the surface, it appears that people are generally happy and free to do what they wish. They do not understand the people who have left, and call them “Savagesâ€, for lack of a better term. However, to those who are brought up differently, or just have a different point of view, many questions are left unanswered. The denizens of fiddler’s green have no perception of history, for example. IS this because of the people in fiddler’s green are just too shallow and indulgent to care, or could it be by design? Additionally, people of both societies have spread rumors of a secret police force that keeps the denizens of fiddler’s green in line. They are known only as “The shepherdsâ€, and their identities, whereabouts, and methods are always unknown. Is there something darker behind the bright lights of Fiddler’s Green? Manhattan- The society of Manhattan is built on the idea that people need to be informed and have strict rules to survive. They disapprove of the indulgence and ignorance of the denizens of Fiddler’s Green, and contemptuously call them “sheepâ€. They believe that to truly appreciate life, one must turn to ideas and art as opposed to pleasures of the flesh. They have a stricter moral code than the people of fiddler’s green, so they are often times more restricted in their actions, and yet most of them seem genuinely happy. In Manhattan itself, which is the hub of the dissentor’s society and unofficial capital, there is some form of government and unity, but not in the way fiddler’s green is ruled. IT’s a bit more democratic, since people have more of an interest in what’s going on around them. However, the denizens of Manhattan are growing wary of late. There are rumors going around that something bad is about to happen. That war might be coming with the denizens of fiddler’s green. And no one knows why. What is brewing in Manhattan? No, you probably don't. But either way, i'm back. :) I've been gone for a while for multiple reasons, but i'm here again, at least for a little while.
What if the secret movie is nothing but a prologue to the rest of the game? After all, if the purpose of the movie is the same as deep dive, then maybe the events that occur in the movie won't occur withing the timeline of the actual game. Just like in deep dive. After all, the fight between Roxas and Riku didn't even happen during the game. It happened beforehand, as evidenced by the cinematic scenes. What if the same is true with this movie?
The city of Bludhaven is no stranger to crime. Ruled by an unseen yet iron grip made of corrupt politics, powerful gangs and ruthless criminals, it often seems like good people simply don’t exist anymore. But there are those who would challenge the powers that be… Sides: Heroes- Could almost be described as “goody-two shoes”. Friendly entities that play by the rules. Many put helping people above all other priorities. Vigilantes- Walk the line between good and evil. Independent crimefighters that are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, including sacrificing people. Villains- Represent the other side of the equation. People who are driven by their own motives (whatever they may be) to commit crimes. Often have no qualms about hurting people. This is a story i wrote for creative writing. I was curious to see what people thought of it. I hope you like it. :D A Guiding Light Max had stood watch over the people for over thirty years. His tall, sturdy frame made everything really easy. He never got tired, and it wasn’t much work. It was a job with few rewards and little excitement, but in the end that wasn’t as bad. That meant he had time to think. Of course, that was cold comfort, considering the things he thought about. Max spent most of his time thinking about the lack of meaning in existence, and how stupid people were. He had seen about sixty-seven break-ups, thirty-six car accidents, and listened to countless meaningless conversations between ignorant people. One time, some spoiled kids had spray-painted their names on him. He thought that most of the people were simply under the delusion that they had meaning in life, and that despite all of people’s efforts, they were never actually going to be happy. And yet, tonight was different. Maybe it was the way the moon shone on the cement. Maybe it was the happy voices and overly loud music of the teenagers partying a couple of blocks away from him. Max knew, though, that it was the experience with the lost cat. It wasn’t very often that max actually saw something good happen. And yet, just this afternoon around sundown, he watched as a little girl found her cat under Max’s watchful eye. If it weren’t for him, she probably wouldn’t have seen it. It was the little girl’s eyes that really got to Max. The way they lit up when they saw the cat. It made Max realize that in a world ruled by madness, there are one or two moments of kindness that may not make it all worthwhile, but they certainly help one to realize that life isn’t only pain. Maybe his job did have one or two perks once in a while, Max thought cheerfully. That may have been why Max reacted the way he did when the car hit him. He heard it coming a mile away. Max couldn’t tell if the man was drunk, out of control, or if something else was wrong. When the car did hit him, Max was knocked down almost instantaneously. The man flew out of his car and landed on the cement head first. If it were any other day, Max would have scoffed at how stupid the man was. He would have complained to himself about how oblivious people are. Tonight, Max felt different. Max wanted to help the man, and call for help or at least ease his pain and keep him company for a while. If Max were able to, he would have heroically carried the man to safety, and called for an ambulance. But Max could do nothing because he was a street light. And so, he was forced to watch as the man bled to death on the pavement. Such was the dark side of happiness, thought Max as the truck carried him away the next morning. It’s one of the principle rules of existence. What goes up must come down again. He thought about all of the dark times he had been through. All the ignorance, all the boredom, and all the nihilistic anger he had felt. He realized that it would all have meant nothing if he hadn’t been happy at some point. Without pleasure, there can be no pain, Max thought. Max wished at that point that he had never been born. He wished for complete oblivion, so he could never feel pain again. If that much pain was the cost of fleeting happiness, he didn’t want to be happy if it meant he’d never be sad again. He didn’t have to wait for very long for his wish to be granted. He was melted the next day, and the material his body was made of was used to make some nails.
This is part of a story i wrote because i was bored and thinking about valentines day. It was too long to post in one post, but i guess this one could stand alone. It's kind of cheesy and slow at the beginning, but i tried to make it interesting at the end. I hope it doesn't suck. :) What Is? Tom had been with Jen for a little while now. He couldn’t help but look back on the way in which they had met and laugh at how cliché it was. It was like one of those horrible high school drama movies that Jen made him watch. Jen was a lonely outcast with no friends. Tom had just moved to town. Tom was the skinny kid with black hair, whose eyes practically held up signs that said “I LIVE IN MY OWN WORLD”. Jen was the slightly gothic girl with green hair dye and piercing blue eyes. One day at school, their eyes met from across the hall. Being the guy, Tom naturally made the first move. He walked up and introduced himself to her at lunch, and they talked for a while. They had a lot in common, and became instant friends, and eventually lovers. Tonight was their six-month anniversary. Tom was waiting for her at the place they usually met. It was on a hiking trail that had entrances near both of their houses. Tom felt the cool spring breeze and looked up at the stars. He thought, what a romantic evening. I can’t wait to see Jen. Tom had bought Jen a particularly nice necklace for her to celebrate. It was a pendant with rubies making the outline of a heart. He hoped she’d like it. That was when Tom realized that he had been waiting for fifteen minutes already. Jen was usually so punctual. It was unusual for her to be this late. Once, he had been five minutes late meeting her here and she had almost broken up with him. Tom worried for a moment, and then realized that she was bound to make mistakes sometimes. After all, nobody’s perfect, thought Tom. He knew that if anyone was dependable at meeting people, especially him, it was Jen. Finally, in the distance, he noticed something moving along the path. He ran to look closer. He hoped that it was Jen, because it was starting to get a bit too cold for him out on the trail. His hopes were confirmed. Jen ran toward him and almost tackled him when she ran into him and hugged him. He hugged her back, and they kissed. “Happy anniversary, Jen,” said Tom after they had parted. “Happy anniversary,” replied Jen. They walked back towards Jen’s house, which was where they usually went when they “hung out”. They just watched movies or played board games or stuff like that. Their relationship was pretty tame for the most part. They had had one or two large arguments in the past, but they had managed to move past it. And yet, for some reason, as they walked along the path, Jen was strangely quiet. It seemed like something was bothering her. She looked sad. Tom tried multiple times to raise conversations, but each time, Jen dodged the questions. Every time Tom tried to look in Jen’s eyes, she looked away. This wasn’t how Jen usually behaved, and Tom could tell that something was off. They had gotten to the top of the hill that led to Jen’s house when Tom managed to build up the nerve to ask the question. “Is something wrong, Jen?” Jen took a deep breath, and looked Tom directly in the eye. “Tom, I’m not going to beat around the bush. I need to break up with you.” Flashbacks of those hideous teenage dramas seared through Tom’s mind. “Why?” he asked. Jen sighed. “Look, our relationship wasn’t healthy,” she said quickly. “I’m not happy, and I haven’t been for the past couple of months.” “But I love you. You’re my only friend here. That can't possibly be the only reason you’re breaking up with me, can it?” “I…” Jen hesitated. “I’ve found someone else.” Tom snapped. “Oh, so it’s that simple?” he yelled. “You just find someone else and drop me like some kind of toy? I’m a human being! I have feelings, too!” Jen wrapped her arms around him and kissed him one last time. “Tom, you’re not real. You don't exist. You're a hallucination." Tom pulled back and blinked. “What?” “I don’t know why I started seeing you. Maybe it was just because I was tired of being the lonely outcast girl. Maybe I just wanted to act out some of those teenage drama movies I’ve always loved.” Tom’s eye twitched at the thought of those horrible shows. “But either way, I guess I made you up, and you appeared.” “Jen, are you alright?” Tom asked honestly, even though his head was the one that was spinning. “Is this some sort of a joke?” “No, it’s not. And now, I’ve found someone real. Someone who can actually care for me. Someone who’s a real, flesh-and-blood, human being.” “Jen…” Tom made a couple of inarticulate noises before his voice trailed into silence. “Goodbye, Tom.” Jen said with a tone of finality. And suddenly, it was as though Jen couldn’t even see him anymore. She just looked through him. Then, she turned around and walked down the hill. Tom just stood there for a little while and watched her. He didn’t know what else to do. Eventually, as she just reached the point where the trail ended, he ran after her. Tom had never felt more impotent and pathetic in his entire life. He felt like a little kid lost in a nightmare. Was his girlfriend going insane? Was this a dream? Or did Jen just break up with him because she was having another depression attack? Tom didn’t know, but for some reason he was afraid to find out the answer.
I have had this debate with my friends many times before. What would you say is the most useful ability to use outside of the drive forms? I personally think quick run is the most useful. It's help me out of many tough situations. Less importantly, it's friggin cool.
The name says it all. What would you say is the worst english-dubbed anime out there? For me, it would have to be a tie between Naruto and One Piece.
Ok, so we all now that the members of organization XIII can teleport. But the way they teleport changed from KH1 to KH2. When sora first fought Xemnas, Xemnas appeared and disappeared in different places, and even walked through sora at one point. The members of Organization XIII in Castle oblivion disappeared and appeared in different places at will as well. But in KH2, the members of organization XIII had to open portals to other places to get there. They never appeared out of thin air or dissapeared into thin air. Does that bother anyone else?
Gods exist. Just about anything that is worshipped or passed down among the generations can take Physical manifestation. Anubis, Anansi, Odin, and just about any other mythological figure or creature that you can think of may exist. They remain hidden, though. Sometimes they take on human forms, and interact among mortals (who knows? You may have met one or two in your time!), and sometimes they simply never even step into this plane of existence. New gods are constantly created. There is a god for just about anything that people give tribute to in any way. If a human is lucky enough and enough people “worship” or give "tribute" to them when they die, they just might become a god as well. Gods of telephones, cars, the internet, and all modern commodities are constantly being created from the way the world works. It's not as though old gods battling new gods is anything new. Old gods are constantly forgotten, replaced by new, more powerful gods. Some gods live, some die and are remembered, and some are forgotten forever and wiped from existence entirely. The ones that survive never exactly have “good” relations with new gods. They often clash with one another. Lately, though, the tension between gods seems to have come to a breaking point. Both new and old gods are being killed. When gods are killed, it is quiet and unceremonius. It is as though they never existed. The war of the ages has begun all over the world, and most mortals aren’t even vaguely aware. The Battle of the gods has begun. Which side will you choose? Will You fight to preserve the old ways and gods, or will you fight to make way for the new ways and new gods? The choice is yours. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules for creating a character: Name (may be different than what god you are): Incarnation of (Your god's true name): God Of: Culture (Old gods only): Background: Appearance in human form: Appearance in true form: Weapons: Abilities (special powers) Weaknesses (even gods aren't invincible :D) : Alignment (old, new or neutral): Character rules: Both sides: Please don't make your character too powerful. I know you're a god, but so is everyone else, and they are probably just as powerful as you. Old gods: Old gods must be actual gods or mythical creatures that a REAL culture on earth worshipped or believed in at one point or another. New Gods: New gods must be based off of something modern (within the past two hundred years or so). Your character can be a human that became a god when they died, or they can simply have cme into existence as more people worshipped the thing that gives you power. Use your Imagination. FEEL FREE TO JOIN AT ANY TIME Oh, and BTW, if you want to have an old god defect and help the new gods or vice versa, feel free. It would make things interesting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No spamming no godmoding (yet again, you're not invincible) no controlling other people characters No unnecesary gore You know the basic rules. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I based this RP off of the book American Gods by Neil Gaiman. If you haven't read it yet, it's not a problem; you'll be able to play just as easily. I reccomend it to everyone because it's just a really good book. If have read it want to be a character from the book, go ahead. Just know that certain characters are off limits (if you've finished the book, you'll know exactly who i'm talking about), and i'll let you know if i feel that your character falls in this category. Enjoy!
This is something i made while i was foolin around in photosnap (which is a rip-off of photoshop, but it gets the job done). I made it by fooling around with a picture of The World that Never Was. It's a bit abstract, but i thought it was kinda cool. What do you think?
I broke my damn arm. now it's really difficult and annoying to type. I hate life...
Where exactly is Castle Oblivion? It seems to be in the same world as the crossroads, but what world is that?
Hello everyone im back. sorry i was gone so long. its because i was in russia, and had no access to a computer for a while. but anywayz, im back and stuff.
Disclaimer: this could only really happen if KHIII isn't a prequel to II What if the main villain of the game was none other than Sora? What if in his pursuit of fighting the darkness, he got consumed by it and became a heartless or a nobody or something? And what if it was him who ingisgated the keyblade war to fulfill some evil purpose... say, opening up kingdom hearts again? ...please don't kill me...
Hello there. I'm mr. croup and i'm new here i guess. I'm 17 and american, and live near san francisco. nice to meet you all! :)
