I don't know how many people on this site actually own a Wii U and have also had this problem, but I couldn't find anything useful anywhere else through google so KHV is my next best option. tl;dr version of my explanation after the following paragraph.

I got my Wii U a little over a year ago, around Christmas time. During the first year, everything worked as expected (when the console was actually being used). However, just recently (about a month or two ago at most), I noticed that whenever the Wii U would be on for more than maybe 45 minutes to an hour, it would suddenly shut itself off. The power light on the front would be blinking red, and the console itself would be warmer than it should be, sometimes even really hot. After looking into what was going on, I found out that the fan located in the back of the console wasn't spinning when the Wii U was turned on, which explained the overheating. I know the fan isn't stuck, as I've manually (and carefully) spun the fan blades myself to check.

tl;dr: My Wii U's fan stopped working and it makes the console overheat.

Obviously the first solution one would think of would be to send it in for repairs, which I would be more than happy to do if this issue hadn't started just after my warranty ended. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so do you know of a less wallet-draining solution? I'd rather not pay $175 for Nintendo to repair it, but I will if there's no other solution.

Infinite Crisis is a MOBA set in the DC Multiverse. Players choose from one of many famous Heroes and Villains from DC Comics, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Doomsday and many more. The catch here is that, while you'll see the instantly-recognizable spandex-wearing heroes you know and love, you'll also be treated to versions of those characters that hail from a different universe within DC. For example, Batman "Prime" is the Bruce Wayne that everybody knows and is playable, but there are two other Batmans (Batmen?) in the game: "Gaslight" Batman, who was originally featured in the one-shot comic "Gotham by Gaslight", and "Nightmare" Batman, a vampiric version of the Caped Crusader who gained his Vampire powers when he himself was bitten by a vampire. Other Heroes and Villains also have alternate versions of themselves in this game.

    Gameplay Modes

Players are split into two teams of five Champions (what the game calls the DC characters). A team must work together to complete their objective before the opposing team does it first to win the game. Currently there are three modes of play, one mode per map available in the game:

Gotham Heights: Gotham Heights is a fast 5v5 mode that demands teamwork and tactics to capture and hold several Control Points, up to a maximum of five. Holding a majority of these points will drain the enemy team's Power Core and drive your team to victory. Periodically, a control point in the middle of the Urban Jungle will open. When captured, a portion of the Urban Jungle is destroyed by a meteor strike. The location of the strike is always closer to the home base of the team that failed to capture this point. Additionally, powerful Drones (which are like LoL's minions) are spawned in the middle and go outward to capture points. The amount of drones spawned is dependent on how many control points the enemy holds. EXP and Credits (currency used to buy items that enhance character abilities) are gained at a faster rate in this mode to compensate for the quicker match times. Visual Representation here.

Coast City: Choice and adaptive tactics define Coast City. This 5v5 two-lane map features a large Urban Jungle that holds access to Elite Drones and control of the Doomsday Device. Claim victory by outmaneuvering the enemy team and pushing into their base to destroy its Power Core. In the game's current state, this map cannot be played competitively as it is being used as a Practice Mode map, where players can learn the basics of Infinite Crisis and/or try out new Champions without the pressure of enemy Champions coming to kill you. Visual Representation here.

Gotham Divided: A dimensional rift splits Gotham City between the worlds of Gaslight and Prime in this 5v5 three-lane map. Triumph through clever use of urban shortcuts carved by exploded turrets, cunning placement of Tactical Skills, and power seized by defeating the formidable Leviathan. For League of Legends veterans, this map can be compared to Summoner's Rift, however the layout of the map itself is tilted so that Top and Bottom lanes turn at the top and bottom of the map itself, and Middle Lane cuts straight through the middle (duh) horizontally. Visual representation here.

    Champions
Since it would take me way too long to write up a description of each Champion, I will instead describe each Champion class and add a link to each Champion that is in that class.

Bruiser: Bruisers are exactly how they sound. They are Champions whose basic melee attacks are their main source of dealing damage. Their abilities are usually used as a means of quickly closing in on an enemy or to enhance their damage dealt for a short time. The following Champions are in the Bruiser class:

    Aquaman
    Atomic Green Lantern
    Batman
    Doomsday
    Shazam
    Superman

Assassin: An Assassin works best when jumping into a situation, doing their max damage upfront, and getting out of there before the enemy knows what happened! The following Champions are in the Assassin class:

    Atomic Wonder Woman
    The Flash
    Gaslight Catwoman
    Nightmare Batman

Enforcer: An Enforcer is the first into battle and tries to soak up as much damage as possible for their team. The following Champions are in the Enforcer class:

    Atomic Poison Ivy
    Gaslight Joker
    Mecha Superman
    Wonder Woman

Marksman: A Marksman is essentially a ranged Bruiser, utilizing their Basic attacks for the majority of their damage output, but with the added bonus of more range. They tend to be easy to kill due to low base health, however. The following Champions are in the Marksman class:

    Cyborg
    Gaslight Batman
    Green Arrow
    Mecha Wonder Woman

Controller (originally called Support): A Controller class aids their teammates by controlling the flow of battle and the movements of their enemies. The following Champions are in the Controller class:

    Arcane Green Lantern
    Harley Quinn
    Poison Ivy
    Robin
    Zatanna

Blaster: A Blaster is, simply put, the opposite of a Bruiser. Their main source of damage is their Powers, leaving their basic attack as a bit lackluster in comparison. The following Champions are in the Blaster class:

    Catwoman
    Green Lantern
    Star Sapphire
    The Joker

I'm surprised there isn't a thread about this game yet. Oh well, no complaints here, I got to make it myself. :3
Anyway, The game is currently in Open Beta, so if you have wanted to play but couldn't due to the beta being closed for the longest time, now's your chance to give it a try. Just go to this page, sign up, download it and play.

In my honest opinion, I enjoy this game so much more than League of Legends, which is the only other MOBA I've played. I don't exactly know why, though, as the gameplay isn't all that different from LoL. Perhaps it's the DC characters making me geek out the entire time I play. Right now I'm maining Gaslight Batman and I'm learning to use Atomic Green Lantern so I have a melee-based champ that I'm good with.

Has anyone else played the game? If so, what do you think of it? Feel free to discuss that and anything else Infinite Crisis-related here.

Not sure if this is the right section, but here's my problem:

When I'm typing up a visitor message to someone who I have a large amount VMs with (For example, DarkTraitor/Nagisa Adelheid and I have over 9000 VMs in all) and I click the "Go Advanced" option, it loads every single VM ever sent between the two of us, meaning it is literally loading over 9000 VMs in the case of me and DT. This causes my browser to freeze for almost a minute or longer before I'm able to make the VM with the advanced post layout.

This is a pretty big inconvenience for someone like me who prefers to use the advanced post layout for making VMs. If it were to work like it did in threads where it only loaded the previous 10 or so messages, then this wouldn't be so much of a problem.

I've brought this up before in another thread I made in this section...But since then the problem has escalated exponentially.

As I stated before, the relationship between my parents...Well, it's nonexistant. My parents absolutely hate each other. The reason why is my father's alcohol addiction. On a nightly basis, he goes to whatever liquor store he chooses to go to, and spends about 8 or 9 dollars on alcohol, only to suck it all down and go back AGAIN to buy more. What's worse is that he's using the little amount of money my mother earns to buy it, and when he's doing this on a nightly basis, he's spending around $56 to $63 dollars a week. I come from a lower class family, so he's spending a big chunk of my mother's income on this stuff.

But that's only the beginning. Lately, things have been getting much worse. He's been threatening to kill my mother on a more and more often; just tonight he picked up a knife and kept repeating "I'll kill you, b*tch" over and over, just because my mom asked for her debit card back (The debit card is what he keeps using to buy the liquor). After she finally got it back, he chased her into the other room and began punching her in the back. Fortunately I was there and was able to pull him away before he did any serious damage, but it's scaring me how much more violent he's becoming. I'm afraid that at some point he really is going to try to kill her...If he were to do that, I don't know what I'd do...I don't want to kill my own father, but if he were to do that to my mother I'd surely snap.

I told my mother that she needed to call the police after the incident was over, but she keeps saying it'll "make things worse".
Please, anyone help me...I don't know what to do.

Anyway, my problem this time is whenever I boot up my laptop normally, I get a blue error screen about a minute after it starts. On the blue screen, "Reference_By_Pointer" is shown at the top. I can't do a recovery because apparently there're no restore points, and my recovery discs aren't recognized.

Any advice on what to do? I don't care what I need to do, if it requires restoring to factory defaults or anything like that, there's nothing important on the laptop that's having issues.

    Official OOC Thread

Before I begin, I must point out that the base story and setting were the idea of starseeker3. He simply requested that I create the threads for him. Anyways, onto the story:

Times were peaceful in the Divine realms. So peaceful, in fact, that Viridi took the opportunity to build an army of Angels. Once the willing ones were recruited, Dark Pit was assigned to train them in the Arts of the Angel. He made sure to teach them to use any kind of weapon, from Swords to Bows to Staffs to Palms and everything in between. When Viridi decided to flaunt her newly trained army of Angels to Palutena, she was less than impressed. Palutena bet that her and Pit could train an army much better than Viridi's. It was then that Palutena also recruited several willing participants to serve in her army. After months upon months of training, both Goddesses had their armies built. They then decided to test out their new warriors by pitting them against each other in a tournament. Viridi's Army was to be lead on the field by Dark Pit, and Palutena's by Pit. That day marked the beginning of the Light vs Nature tournament. Of course, no Angels would actually die when they fell, they would just be eliminated from the match and brought back to their respective Goddess's domain. The tournament went on and on, each side seeming to be equally matched against one another. The Goddess's arrogance and will to win kept the tournament going for over four years.

Finally, the day came where the tournament met it's final match. It was not, however, because one team had beaten the other. During the match, the sky grew dark. The horrid sounds of monsters could be heard in the horizon, and they were only getting closer. The moment came where the source of the sound had been shown; it was the Underworld Army. This time, they were not lead by either Medusa or Hades, but both of them at the same time. Pit, Dark Pit and the newly recruited Angels fought valiantly to protect their homes and their Goddesses, but ultimately failed. Their only option was to make an escape attempt. The new Angels and their Goddesses did escape with onslaught, but at the cost of Pit and Dark Pit's souls. They had been devoured by Hades, who then turned Skyworld and Viridi's Palace into a new Underworld. Hades decided to merge the two palaces into one large one, renaming it "The Overworld". While Hades sat upon his throne in the Overworld, Medusa stayed in the Underworld and had a separate army of her own. Palutena, Viridi and the newly recruited Angels are now taking refuge on Earth, where they await the right moment to strike back against the Underworld and Overworld armies.

Okay, now that we've got the story settled and ready to go, let's get on to the OC's, shall we?

Each participant will play as a newly recruited Angel, either in Palutena's Army or Viridi's. Each army is only allowed certain weapon types, which I will show now:

Angels under Palutena's rule can use any weapon in the following category (When you click on a link, scroll down to see each weapon in that category):
Bows, Orbitars, Palms, Cannons, and Staffs.

Angels under Viridi's rule cane use any weapon in the following category:
Bows, Blades, Claws, Arms, and Clubs.

PLEASE NOTE: Angels CANNOT use any weapon named after Pit or Dark Pit. Those weapons were destroyed when Pit and Dark Pit had their souls devoured. Any other weapon is fine.

    Now for the OC sheet:

    Weapon:
    Alliance (Light/Palutena or Nature/Viridi):
Bio (Your Angel's occupation in their Goddess's palace before becoming an Angel):

    Here's mine:

    Username: Deadpool
    Angel Name: Viro
Appearance: Viro dons a traditional white Angel garb. He has blond hair, blue eyes, and is not too strong. He's average height. Being an Angel, he has no scars or marks.
    Weapon Style: Palm
    Weapon: Midnight Palm
    Alliance: Light/Palutena
Bio: Viro was once a messenger for Palutena, sending messages to other Gods and Goddesses for her. When he heard about the Angel Recruitment, he immediately signed up. Due to his physical weaknesses, he was given the Midnight Palm to compensate for his slow speed, seeing as holding a physical weapon would slow him down. He takes his duties as an Angel very seriously.

Note: Palutena and Viridi will be played by Starseeker and I.

I really enjoyed the first game. It was a fun kart racer with several of my favorite characters from Sega franchises.

Apparently this iteration borrows from Mario Kart 7 in that there are water and air segments to the tracks. However, they look to be different in that the physics for driving could be changed while in these sections. Plus the flying sections involve actual flight as opposed to MK7's gliding.
