This isn't a new concept for me, but since it hasn't been discussed yet I thought I'd bring it up.

Everyone knows of Yellowstone Park, right? Well the entire thing is one massive reservoir of magma. The volcano beneath it is so large that it couldn't even be seen. Only when satellite images were taken, could scientists see the scale of this caldera. It is a super volcano, the most destructive force on this planet.

The problem is scientists have discovered that the ground in Yellowstone is 74cm higher than it was in 1923 - indicating a massive swelling underneath the park. The reservoir is filling with magma at an alarming rate. The volcano erupts with a near-clockwork cycle of every 600,000 years. The last eruption was more than 640,000 years ago, hence - we are overdue for annihilation.

Why? The thousands of cubic kilometres of ash that would shoot into the atmosphere could block out light from the sun, making global temperatures plummet. Nuclear winter.

    Thoughts?

Everyone knows that humans aren't perfect. We don't always get along, which is evident in genocide and wars that mankind has witnessed. What I would like to know is what you think it would take for there to be actual harmony in the world. Do you think it's possible for the nations of Earth to come to an accord?

If yes, explain why and how long this could take.

If no, explain why something like peace is inevitably out of reach for us humans.

I don't want to seem like a pessimist, but I'm beginning to think it's impossible. A few years back, before 9-11, I thought that growing older would be good, because by then people would have fixed all of their problems. I know better now. I still have hope for us and see the beauty in life, but I no longer turn a blind eye to what is really going on. Please be open and honest.

Crazy stuff. We will never know for sure what was going through this man's head. What do you think his motives may have been?

Do you think this research is a load of crap, or do you relate and think they are on to something?

I don't know what to say, because I'm neither overweight nor depressed. All of the video game players I know are perfectly fine. Maybe it's because we're still teens. Do these effects start to become more apparent during adulthood? Who knows. I want to read your opinions.

Today the man who is the reason for rock and roll passed away. Lester William Polsfuss, also known as Les Paul, died at the age of 94 years old because of complications from pneumonia. He recently made many trips in and out of the hospital due to his illness, and I'm glad that he's at peace. However, that doesn't mean I'm not sad to see him go. I started playing guitar in 7th grade after my dad showed me his Bouquet of Roses album. It was like magic. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he was also Honorary Board Member for Little Kids Rock, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing free musical instruments and music instruction to underserved schools across the United States of America. Now, I bet a lot of you play the electric guitar, or are at least attempting it. You have Les Paul to thank for that. Even if you haven't heard any of his music, the impact he made on the music industry means that it is all around you. He will be missed.
