man its been forever since I've been here...
    *thoughts*
    Post counts... enabled? (o_O)

Anyway, I've been taking programming courses, so I betcha I can whip up something to help

I was thinking making a few raw code generators in VB 6, it'll oversimplify the process of coding to the point where any random noob can come it, download it, run it, have it spit out the codes, and be done

one idea: (this one I actually could pull off)
make a char mod chooser, pick the world (or universal), the slot, the character to replace, and hit a button, and it spits out the code with the stuff you need

    Example

anyway, you guys throw out some ideas of what I could do

I've had this game for about 6 months, or so, and never was able to run it, because I lacked a suitable computer

When I was finally allowed access to my parent's sweet desktop (3.2 GHz, NVidia GeForce 6800), I was able to create a fix by dumping the memory when running it on both my laptop, and the desktop

Now it runs perfectly on both : D

Anyway, overall, a bit of an improvement over NWN1

Anyone else who has it, and is unable to run it, just give me a buzz and I'll set you up with a fix to bypass the graphics card requirement (specifically, when trying to run it, you get a "No compatible Direct3D device" error

(Note: I won't do my mem dump fix, as there is a far easier fix out there, using a nifty Direct3D program)

I should note, though, that it doesn't exactly run silky smooth on this thing, there's a reason they don't want you running it on a laptop chipset

    I'll just say this

IF YOUR GRAPHICS CARD DOES NOT SUPPORT HARDWARE TRANSFORM AND LIGHTING (that means most laptop chipsets, and some older graphics cards), YOU'RE GONNA GET CRAP FPS
I have the graphics settings on the lowest possible ones, and I get about 7-12 FPS in crowded areas, 15-19 in towns, 21-25 in very small, empty areas

I put up with though, because its better than not being able to play it at all

I got my DVD recorder to work, so, I can record brawls...

I'm uploading the files now, just waiting for the links...

first one is an 2500 KBPs bitrate vid on megaupload, second one is on youtube, which will obviously get butchered to hell

I'll post the links here so you can see the quality

I'm hoping to be able to record online brawls

    Anybody got it?

I took my old laptop and turned it into a dedicated server

Anyone who has it go to "Join Game" -> "Add Favorite" and then type into the box "24.218.157.128:29084"

Thats my server, I've tested it a few times, and I've had people not on my network test it.

Got the modelviewer for KH2 working
I can compile the frames into animations using Jasc Animation Shop (v3.04)

    http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc156/JLHack7/KH2 ModelViewer/

^ My siggy pic, and my avvy are in there too...

If anyone wants one... just ask...

    Except for Sephy...
Sephiroth crashes the modelviewer... dunno why...

I guess he's just too badass for it XD

    But yea, everything else works...
(NOTE: I only get the models, NO EFFECTS, that includes weapon trails, Xemnas's sabers, glowing stuff, etc...
If the models look off colored, thats because they are unshaded... like the glow of Final Form, thats an effect, it doesn't show up... sorry)

    Here's a few...

^ This last one has half the frames skipped, so its not as good as it should be

Oh, and one last note, I can't seem to extract the Tron-ified weapons, so...
    No computer-y keyblades... sorry...

THESE ARE THE OFFICIAL SQUARE ENIX MADE MODELS!
I did not model these myself...
(if I did, I'd be making a lot of money off my skill, but, I can't, so I'm broke)

Well, so many people want to know how to make their own vids of PS2 gameplay, or, well, anything

    Things you will need

    DVD Recorder
A DVD recorder is a DVD Player for your TV, BUT, has the ability to burn

    Some blank DVD Discs

    DVD - WMV
    http://www.dvd-wmv.com/bits/DVD-WMV-x86-0021.msi.asmx

    Windows Media Encoder 9 series
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5691ba02-e496-465a-bba9-b2f1182cdf24

    DVD-Decrypter (comes with DVD-WMV package)

Patience, lots and lots of patience

    1) Hook up your PS2 to the inputs on your DVD Recorder
    2) Load up your CodeBreaker, ARMAX, whatever
    3) Input the codes
    4) Load up whatever game you want
    5) Load a save, and hit record on your DVD Recorder
    6) activate your codes (jokers, etc.)
    7) Stop recording
    8) Finalize the disc (Read the DVD Recorder manual to find out how to Finalize)
(A COMPUTER WILL NOT READ A BURNED VIDEO DVD THAT IS NOT FINALIZED)
    9) Place the FINALIZED disc into your Computer DVD drive
    10) Start up DVD - WMV
    11) On the left of the DVD - WMV window, you should see a steps tab
    it looks like this
    [IMG]

    12) Click on step 1
if you get any errors or anything, just continue on like nothing is happening
    13) when thats done, click on step 2, ignore the errors, just continue on, and click step 3 when done
    14) keep going until you get to step 5
    15) When you click step 5, you will get a BOATLOAD of errors, just hit "Ok" or "Ignore" or "Continue"
    16) It'll encrypt to a WMV, which is a NORMAL windows media video file
    17) The output file should be in "My Documents" on ur comp

    18) Go watch the vid
    19) DO NOT UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE YET!
I will run through the rest, in the mean time, that's how you can make your own code vids, or vids for whatever you want

For those that do not know, I have a hacking tutorial (It's not really hacking since I'm only "Hacking" my own stuff, namely, KH Games, but some non-KH Games, so that's why I'm not making this thread in the KH section)

anyway, the tutorial is on part 1, GameBoy Advance hacking

the emulator that we use is called VisualBoyAdvance

and it comes with the ability to record gameplay videos

(in VBA go to "Tools" -> "Record" -> "Start AVI Recording..."
Then choose where to save the file
and lastly (by request, to save disk space) for Compressor, select
    "Cinepak Codec by Radius"
and put "Compression Quality" at 100
(the Cinepak Codec trims a video filesize to roughly 1/8 its uncompressed size

I know because I made a video in normal (uncompressed) format and it was 62 megabytes, but then I made one with the Cinepak Codec and it was 8 megabytes

Here is a video of Riku's deck being hacked (well, the results of the hack)

    http://video.kh-vids.net/video/1d43a44e-848a-488d-b141-99c0014f942e.htm

(don't bother with the link yet, it's taking forever to optimize)

So anyway, this thread will be for any videos of codes made with my hacking tutorial

    Edit: Video is UP!

and for those of you who haven't uploaded videos yet, well, its so easy, a caveman could do it!

(cavemen from the geico commercial appear)
Me: Um, did I say caveman, I ment... uhhhh... ummm...
    Okay, I got nothing... T_T
    (cavemen start beating me up)
Me: Ahhh! Oh god! THAT DOESN'T BEND THAT WAY!

    JLHack's Hax!

I luv hackin computer games, Namely... "Star Wars: Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy" & "Battlefield 1942" because I can do whatever the hell I want with them
Like in battlefield 1942, I hack the .rfa files so that my Colt .45 is now an automatic pistol that has a rate of fire of 900 Rounds per minute (that's the speed of an Uzi) and has 100 shots per magazine, and comes with 9999 magazines!

anywhoo, in this thread, I will help people hack any computer game!

namely Jedi Academy and Battlefield 1942, but I will help with others

Videogamecrazyboy, I found some codes on www.codemasters-project.net!

and... I decided to take a shot at making a mastercode...
that's right... I made a mastercode... (so it probably won't work, but in any case, check it out)
    game ID is 0005

    M
    BTT8-ZN16-0MHDC
    B9ZH-YET4-CT75B

The codes have been proven to work on CodeBreaker, so lets try em

and try this code (somethin about affecting stamina, I think it's the blue bar)

    KVC4-20C6-EU0V8
    V5DK-K9JY-DZKF0
    1TYV-0P6Y-N59EB

    tell me what happens

I am sick of people not trying to hack themselves, so now, I haved developed a tutorial for people to learn to hack, and make their own Action Replay, Codebreaker, and Gameshark codes

It comes in 4 major sections, with the 3rd and 4th being actual PS2 Hacking

The first is the most basic, if you have absolutely no knowledge of hacking in hexidecimal whatsoever, then you should start here

the second is a little more complicated, and people who have some knowledge of hacking should try this, if the first section is too easy

The third section is quite complicated, since the first 2 sections only use halfword where as the third section uses full word (if you don't know what these terms mean, then you might want to start with section 1)

The last section requires an extensive knowledge of MIPS programming, and is not totally necessary to learn, and is very difficult (this section is basically at the level of me, KHKid1212, and Evilman)

    -----

    First section: Hexidecimal for Beginners
    Required programs: VisualBoyAdvance
    Required Files: Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising (European) [The US version seems to crash] {PM Me with your e-mail and I'll send you the ROM}
(and yes I have a GameBoy Advance, and I have the actual cartridge for AW2:BHR)
There is a version of VBA (Visual Boy Advance) for Mac and Linux too, so don't worry

Also, the European version that I have, seems to accept US version codes, so if you have the US Version of AW2:BHR, then you can use these codes

    so anyway, lets start

    (Refer to attachment: VBATut1.jpg)
    1: Here's Visual Boy Advance

Now then, when we open up VBA, we see the option, "Tools"
After clicking on it we see this:
    (Refer to attachment: VBATut2.jpg)

2: We see an option called "Disassemble", for PS2 Hacking, we use a program called PS2Dis, which does that very function, "Disassemble"

In this section, you will learn basic hacking in hexadecimal, via the GameBoy Advance (If you have a CodeBreaker Advance, then you can actually test these codes [if you have an Advance Wars 2 cartridge], but if you have GameShark or Pro Action Replay, you need to find a way to decrypt these codes)

So anyway, start up the ROM

    (Refer to attachment: VBATut3.jpg)

3: The first screen you should see is the Language Select Screen (without the 3 obviously)

Also, if you actually want to learn how to play Advance Wars, I suggest getting the ROM for the first game, (which you can PM me for) and going through Field Training Mode (AW2:BHR doesn't have a field training mode, its built into the Campaign Mode, and we don't have time for that)

now then, click on the "Cheats" tab and select "Cheat List"

click on "CodeBreaker" and fill in the description with "M" and the code with
    Code:
    00009E1F 000A
    1006FD98 0007

    (Refer to attachment: VBATut4.jpg)
4: You will probably get an error message like this

Then put in another CodeBreaker code
call it "Unlock Stuff" and use the code
    Code:
    8202805A FFFF
    42028040 FFFF
    0000000D 0002

and then hit "OK" to continue the game

so anyway, go to Versus Mode, and select "New", and select the map "Little Island"

    (Refer to attachment: VBATut5.jpg)
5: This is the faction of the character, there are 4, Orange Star, Blue Moon, Green Earth, and Yellow Comet
6: This is the CO (Commanding officer) the strengths and weaknesses of troops depend on the CO you choose (I have Sturm [Sturm is the Xemnas of Advance Wars] on the left, he's the most powerful, because he's a bada** alien, and Colin on the right, because he's the weakest [although he gets more funds and deploys troops at a much lower cost, but he's still a weak little s***]
7: This represents who is controlling each character (Advance Wars is turn based, so you can just pass the GameBoy to the next person when it's his turn) MAKE SURE THAT BOTH CHARACTERS ARE NOT SET TO Cp (Computer Player) because the computer will control that other character and will give you a LOT of trouble

Unfortunately, I have a 5 attachment limit, so in order to continue, I need someone to post here so I can make another post with the rest of the tutorial
