I'll disagree with the doesn't bring anything unique other than the leveling system. You don't really choose how you wanna level your character, i mean yeah you can pick what you want first, but when you hit max level the whole Lilium orb is going to be completed sooo it's all really moot towards the end. The battle mechanics is the unique part with the whole linking with other characters and having chain arts and how the AI reacts to how you play. pretty well thought out, Though this is all made 5 times better in Tales of Xillia 2.

And i'll agree with the starting Jude first....there's a lot of confusion when you play Milla first.

The game does indeed revolve around Jude, Milla, and Alvin a lot. And Leia does suffer from the story the most if you don't do sub quests. There's a big thing with Leia and Agria through out most of Jude's side. Elize has a decent amount in the story and so does Rowen. Rowen more so in sub quests.

I do recommend this game to all Tales of and JRPG fans, The story is really good, and the gameplay is just amazing. Only complaint i have on it is that it's a really easy plat.

OH AND JUST FOR ALL YOU COSTUME WHORES OUT THERE.....Namco is releasing some more costumes on psn on the 20th.

I've almost platted the game, everything in it's amazing. Though i don't agree with you all thinking the VA's are weak, they're actually all top notch. The worst one is Milla, and that's because Minae Noij isn't experience in Voice acting, since the only thing she did was be a main character in the soap opera General Hospital. Jude's VA is really great, he's the same one that did Flynn's voice in Tales of Vesperia. But yeah, Tales of Xillia is really freaking good.

Either square to make more money, or Sony to make sure they're an inhouse dev. And it wouldn't matter which one picked them up either, cause as soon as the would do that, they'd just leave Atlus alone to do what they do....i mean hell Index just bought the domain for Persona 5.jp

We all know that Namco Bandai loves their tales games, and we know that it takes an act of freaking congress to even get one. And i'm pretty sure all you Tales Fans out there know that we'll be getting Tales of Xillia in like 2 months. Who is freaking excited?

For those of you that don't know....Tales of Xillia was Announced to be localized to the world not long after Graces F was released in NA. No doubt due to the fact that Graces had a wonderful reception and did stupendous over here. And it also seems like Baba has been pulling out all the stops for Xillia's release over here.

Tales of Xillia was released in Japan in 2011 for the 15th anniversary of the Tales Series. This game marked a big thing in history for the Series and for the Company. Tales of Xillia is the first game, prolly of many, that included designers and story writers of both sides of the Tales Studio, Team Destiny and Team Symphonia and obviously the designers that were already built in to Namco Bandai's company Team Wolf, who created the lovely Tales of Legendia. But that's only the start of what's amazing in this game.

Tales of Xillia is the first Tales Series game to let you choose which main character you want to play as and how you want to view the story. Not only does it change how the story is viewed, and also changes the opening to the game.

    Lets hit this story synops.
Tales of Xillia takes place in a world called Rieze Maxia, a world that is balanced out by spirits and humans. The story follows 2 characters Jude Mathis, a medical student who gets a little too curious, and Milla Maxwell, a woman thats deeply connected with the spirits of Rieze Maxia. An event in a research medical facility unites these two and many others in a journey to set the balance of the world back together.
There are a few other things that have been implemented into this game that has caught the attention of many people. One being the combat system. Like all other Tales games, it's a LMBS, but this system takes a few things from previous Tales games. Tales of Vesperia's TP gauge and Tales of Graces combo gauge which has been changed to AP. Thusly calling the system Dual Raid Linear Motion Combat System. Also you can link the character you're playing as with any of the other playable characters to dish out special attacks or get specific perks for certain battles.
Another thing to look forward to is a sphere grid like ability unlock system. In which you use your level points to unlock a palette of stat ups and abilities to get special passives for your characters.
The reception for this game has been stupendous in japan. Hitting record sales for the Tales Series since the release of Tales of Destiny. To even put a bigger impact on how much Namco Bandai is wanting Xillia to do well across the world they've even released Collectors and Limited Editions for the games first print release.
The Tales of Xillia Collectors Edition comes with the game, music CD, a 100 page art book, and the famous Milla Maxwell figurine. An approx. $110 in America that can be bought at participating retailers like Gamestop and Best Buy. For those in EU you are required to buy this off of the Namco online store, be quick though, from the start only 10,000 copies were being sold on the store.
For those of you who are looking for the cheaper route, Namco just released that they are going to do a Limited Edition as well, this one only being $60 in America, and if you preordered the game in general you're automatically upgraded to it. This edition comes with a music CD, 2 DLC Costumes, and a Character Profile book. Each of these are exclusive to their respective editions. For EU people I'm not sure whether or not the Limited Edition is going to be available over there.
Also for people who are going to be a little salty over the limited edition getting costumes and not the collectors. There have been rumors/people saying that when preordering the game off of the namco store that it had added some DLC to it that looked different than the one in the Limited Edition, so it's possible we may have a little surprised in there.
Either way, please show your support to the Tales series, they are just wonderful games. Hopefully Xillia does well over here so we can get the sequel Tales of Xillia 2.
    Discuss.
