    ****Chapter 1****
Everything had been quiet in his castle for quite a while now, since Sora had helped him, and then left. He hoped Sora had succeeded on his quest, although he was happy with where he was. Soon, his curse would be broken. He could be human again, and he and Belle could live happily.

He was interrupted by the sound of the door opening. He knew by the softness of the footsteps that it was Belle. "Beast?" said her soft voice. It was one of his few joys in life. "It's so gloomy in here. Come back to the rest of us." He looked around at her. As always, she didn't flinch or take a step back at seeing his face. That was one of the things he really loved about her.

"But Xaldin took the rose. Someone could take it again." He said with his rough voice. She looked at him consolingly as he strode towards her. "Xaldin's dead, remember? Sora saw to that. Don't worry. It won't be much longer before we can-" Belle was interrupted when Beast suddenly threw her aside.

No sooner did he do so that he was pinned against the far wall by two spears. Beast could never mistake their design. "Xaldin!" He growled, his voice dripping with pure venom as the black-coated figure emerged from the shadows, with several others alongside him, and took down his hood, revealing his face and long black hair.

"Quite. I didn't think it possible that I could be defeated by you. But rest assured, my plans are no longer for you. Xemnas died with his Kingdom Hearts, and I don't plan to follow him. We've come here to interrogate someone who is...trapped here." Fear showed in Beast's eyes. "Belle, run!" He shouted.

One of the black-coated figures made as if to pursue her, but a motion from Xaldin halted his pursuit. "No, we're not here for you or Belle. An old colleague of ours is here. And we need something he had. Where is Marluxia?" He demanded. Beast glared angrily and grated out a response. "There is no Marluxia here. I don't know who you are talking about."

Xaldin advanced in anger, obviously irritated at Beast's answer. "You lie! He is here, I sense him!" But as he came close, a glint in the corner caught his eye. "There it is." He said, a sense of relief in his voice. He walked over to a strange and curious object in the corner. It was odd, Beast had never seen it before.

Xaldin held up a hand to it, and it suddenly hovered in the air, glowing with a bright pink hue. "There you are." He said with a smirk. But rather than go through the mysterious portal, he turned to one of the others. "Vexen" He asked, "Would you like the honors?" The one called Vexen shed his hood as well, revealing himself to be a man with very light blonde, almost white hair and fair complexion. Right now, Vexen was grinning evilly. "Greatly." He walked past Xaldin and through the portal.

Almost immediately, Beast disliked Vexen even more than Xaldin. "Hm." He grunted. "If this Marluxia is against you, he can't be a bad person." He finished. Xaldin simply glanced at him and said, "You have no idea."

    Braig's Past

Yes, a man grows older, but his soul remains alive. While those tremulous stars still glitter, I will survive. Let my heart grow colder, and as bitter as a falcon in the dive.

I am a man who lost my heart. It seems like so long ago that we surrendered ourselves to that grim fate. We submitted to a life without hearts, without meaning. Was it all worth it in the end? The rejection of old Ansem's warnings? The continuation of his works? I would never let these feelings show outwardly, but now I start to consider. Could things have been different if we had listened?

Could things have been different if I had never discovered what I did?

    ********************

Oh, how it burned! Braig ran frantically down the hallway, which now appeared so much longer than it had when first he walked through it. He had to tell Master Ansem his secret. He would ignore the burning pain of his fresh facial scar in order to tell him about his new discovery.

But before he got there, another student crossed his path. It was Xehanort, the extraordinary white-haired youth Master Ansem had discovered such a while back. Xehanort immediately started panicking when he saw the trail of blood emanating from Braig's face.

"Xeh, I have something amazing I have to tell Master Ansem! It could revolutionize our rese-"
"No, you have to go to the infirmary." He said in a frantic tone, cutting Braig off. "Help!" Yelled Braig's friend.

    -----2 hours later-----

"How bad is it, Xeh?" He asked Xehanort. "It isn't so bad," He replied, "It was only a superficial wound. But you say it burned badly?"
    "Yeah."
"How exactly did you receive this wound, Braig?"
"That's what I have to tell Master Ansem! I made an incredible discovery about our research!" He said. After he said it, he got up and started to leave, before Xehanort stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.

"No. Master Ansem has discontinued our research." Said Xehanort. Braig looked disappointed. "But I found something incredible! I-" He stopped when Xehanort put a finger up. "Easy, easy. Dilan and Even have already agreed that we must continue our projects. Even suggested we wait until the meddlesome King from the other world is gone, but we needn't bother. Now tell me, what is it you found?"

    ----------------------

All six of Ansem's apprentices sat in the lab room beneath the castle. Xehanort, the ring leader stood forth and began the secret meeting. "My thanks to Braig, Elaeus, and Ienzo for being enlightened and joining the cause." The other two in question nodded. "But now," continued Xehanort, "I have very important news concerning our research of the heart. To present this information, I have the one who uncovered it. Braig." He finished, beckoning said student forth.

Braig looked around at the small circle of people. "Yeah, the other day I was up in the mountains, around the dark depths, when I found these people. They used blades of keys, and were really strong. I met with them and tried to greet them, but they wouldn't say anything about who they were or anything. One of them was a chick, with blue hair, and one was blonde. The leader was wearing a helmet. After I met them, I decided to try and catch one to study 'em."

"I decided on the blue-hair chick. She was coming through the city, and I tried to cripple her with a rifle. It didn't really work, and she ran- actually ran- up the wall of the building I was on. Tried to take her down at close range, but I ended up with this scar." He pointed to his new wound.

The massive Elaeus looked at him inquisitively. "How does this advance our research?" He asked. Braig pointed a finger at him with a 'bingo' expression on his face. "That's the cool part. As a sort of failsafe measure in case I couldn't subdue her, I brought some of those creatures we made, some of those 'Heartless' to test 'em against a real opponent."

Even looked skeptical. "And? We know they're made of corrupted hearts, but there is no way to get at those hearts. Killing the Heartless destroys the trapped heart as well. You found a solution?" He asked. Braig nodded confidently. "Yeah. I figured it would be like that, but when she killed the Heartless with her key/sword thing, it didn't just kill the Heartless, it freed the captive heart inside." This statement aroused murmurs and gasps of surprise among his colleagues, except for Xehanort, who had already heard of it.

    ---------------------------

The six of them had agreed that Xehanort would take the bulk of the blow if something went wrong with the machinery that was to open the door. The rest of them would get clear once the darkness started to come through. But before he could even start to think about what he would do, a sound of an opening door reached his ears, and an old voice rose. "What do you think you're doing?! Xehanort, Braig, stop!"

Braig and the others spun to see Ansem the Wise standing in the doorway, shocked and appalled at what his wards had done. Braig thought quickly, removing his gun from the holster and pointing it at the man. "Master Ansem, just please leave. I don't want to hurt you, it's too late to stop it."

Ansem shook his head in subtle disbelief. "What are you talking about? Braig, you know better. Stop this nonsense! This is madness!" Braig began to sweat with nervousness. This man had taken him in from day one. Was he just going to kill him? But they had come so far. What to do?

He didn't have time to think about it. Ienzo hastily shouted an incantation and cast some kind of energy at Ansem. A portal formed, more like a ripple on reality, and their old master began to be absorbed into it. A final desperate "No!" escaped his lips as he was banished to the realm of nothingness seemingly forever.

    ---------------------

It had happened. It really had. Xehanort was opening the door. He was the only one who could do it. Already, the darkness was pouring through like a flood. Heartless were everywhere now. Out of control. Out of his control. Finally, he realized he was trapped. He and Dilan were alone, cut off from everything else. All they had were a pair of guns for Braig and a spear off the wall for Dilan. This was the training room after all. Elaeus used it most. But Braig had never imagined himself dying here.

Braig looked shakily at Dilan. "Friends 'til the end, right?" Dilan returned his shaken smile. They each gave one thumbs up before the beings from darkness, worse than any Morlock had ever been, were upon them. 20 stories up, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. This was it.

Braig was able to hold them off at first. He even gave a laugh as he realized the effectiveness of his guns against the Heartless. But his game came to an end when he heard a click from the gun held in his left hand. As he scrambled to reload it, black hands grasped and clawed at his hand, forcing him to release the weapon from his grip.

He tried to aim at the other group, but they were already too close. One grabbed his arm and was trying to take the gun against Braig. Braig struggled helplessly against the darkness. He felt his human strength fading. He gave an exasperated yell as the gun was turned in him. As he looked down the barrel with his right eye, he knew- this is it.

He yelled in pain as the bullet pierced his eye and his head, missing his brain, much to his dismay. He clutched his eye with the gun still in his hand. Desperately, he tried to get the other gun, the one he had lost. He knew it was pointless. Before he was dead, the creatures would be over him.

And before they were, one could swear they saw the most insane grin on Braig's scarred face, before he was overcome. Braig died, and the last thing he saw was his best friend Dilan falling from the window, covered in Heartless, still clutching the spear in his dying hand.

    ----------------------

Did I deserve this? I don't know where I am, why I lost my eye. All I know is that my name is Bra... Brul... an X? Braxig, Grabix, Xigbar...

As he was thinking, a distant voice called to him with the last name he had thought of. "Xigbar!"

Xigbar! My new name. I'll love it forever...

    Love? What is... that?

    -----------------------

The first thing he saw as he opened his eye was a mansion. A beautiful mansion, set in a beautiful place, before a beautiful wood. It was lost on him.

All he acknowledged was the white-haired man standing over him, his voice so much deeper and more mature than the boy Xibala had known before.

That's not my name, is it?

"What is your name?" Is what the man standing over him said. And as he sat up, he spoke his first words of the second life without hesitation. "My name is Xigbar."

    My name is Xigbar.

As they each appeared in their chairs, they gaped at the young boy before them. Apparently, they had come in in the middle of this process. Xemnas was out of his chair, and held one hand over the blonde boy's head. "You shall be christened Roxas, in light of the name of your other. Number XIII of our Organization, The Key of Destiny. The Keyblade's chosen one..." As he trailed off on this, Demyx, Vexen, Larxene, and Lexaeus's eyes widened simultaneously. "Keyblade?!" Said Vexen in surprise.

"Yeah, I wrangled him in just about an hour ago. Turns out he can't dodge bullets." Said Xigbar. "He can't hit me with two swords either." The newly christened Roxas looked up at Xigbar angrily. "Wow, this is amazing!" Said Demyx. "A Keyblade wielder in our ranks!"

Marluxia spoke up. "It is my opinion that he should be assigned to join my committee in the Castle Oblivion." Vexen looked at him with an irritated expression. "Your committee? I am number four of the Organization! I will decide the legitimacy of you 'committee'!" Then Xemnas objected. "I am number one, however, and it has been decided that Marluxia is in charge of all matters pertaining to the upper levels of our new Castle."

"But I captured him." Said Xigbar. Marluxia snapped back, "Castle Oblivion is under my charge, regardless of rank!" Xigbar shot him a look of pure venom through his single yellow eye. "I am number two of Organization XIII, you are number eleven! And I'm not stationed in your little playhouse anyway, so I suggest you put a cork in it, or I'll cancel you myself!"

Marluxia was beside himself with anger. But before he could further argue, a laser arrow found itself embedded in his chair, right next to his head. He crouched to avoid anymore. Xigbar smirked as he held his gun at Marluxia. "ENOUGH!" Thundered Xemnas, furious. Roxas looked confused and afraid at the violent argument going on around him.

"It will be decided in a vote whether he will accompany Marluxia-" He caught a look from Vexen, then added him in, "And Vexen and Zexion's party." Zexion snapped up from his book at hearing his name. "What?" He said. "Roxas, have a seat. You will vote as well." He said. Xaldin raised a hand, and the chairs rearranged, so that a thirteenth rose from the ground in the space left. Xaldin then snapped, and Roxas teleported into the chair, now in his new black coat.

"By show of hands, how many vote for Roxas's accompanying Marluxia and Vexen?" Marluxia, Larxene, Vexen, Axel, Saix, and Roxas himself raised their hands. "And all opposed?" The hands of Xemnas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Lexaeus, Zexion, Demyx, and Luxord shot into the air. "Then it is decided. Roxas remains here, in The World that Never Was. The meeting is adjourned." He said. The members, one by one, disappeared, some of them staying behind. Demyx vanished, and did not stay.

"Demyx! Larxene!" Called a rough voice through the Darkness. A Dark Corridor appeared, and Lexaeus, the Silent Hero, flew out of it, slaying a large number of Heartless with his tomahawk boomerang and rock and earth attacks. Finally, all the creatures of darkness were slain, many hearts released to Kingdom Hearts.

"You have explaining to do!" Said Lexaeus harshly to Demyx. They then turned to Ansem, who stood with his arms crossed. Lexaeus stomped on the ground twice, causing two rock pillars to shoot up and nearly hit Ansem. But the white-haired man moved quickly to avoid them and countered by firing a dark blast at the strongly-built warrior.

Lexaeus deflected it with his axe. "So you will continue to defy me? Then let your Superior, Nocturne, be the judge of your fate. And be sure to thank your little friend for this meeting..." Ansem faded, leaving only a chilling laugh as his final words to them.

"You two. Now." Demanded Lexaeus bluntly, opening a Corridor of Darkness. Demyx and Larxene walked through it shamefully, like children dreading the oncoming scolding from their parents for some great wrongdoing. But Demyx didn't understand? Why would Tidus turn him over to Ansem? Surely he must not have known...

    --------------------

"Now, I stand faced with the great decision. Are you to be turned over to Superior Xemnas or not?" Said Vexen. "As you may have figured out, I've been monitoring you for a long time, on Xemnas's orders. And in that duration of time, you succeeded in destroying our uneasy agreement with Ansem, bringing in THREE outsiders, and nearly getting yourselves killed in the process. What have you to say before I report you?"

The two siblings looked alarmed. "Please don't tell him." Begged Demyx. "He won't be merciful." Said Larxene. "Indeed not." Responded Vexen. Larxene backed away, toward the door, but Lexaeus blocked the way, his arms crossed menacingly, his expression stoic.

Vexen walked over to his com and pressed the button. "Xemnas," He started, "We have a situation." Desperate, Demyx looked pleadingly, but knew it was too late. "Vexen!" Roared Xemnas over the com, causing everyone in the room to jump two feet, "Get the others and come to the meeting room! NOW!" Vexen looked around with a grudging snarl, then opened a Corridor through Darkness and walked through. The others followed suit.

"Guys! It's really you!" He said. He had found their bodies in a corner. Tidus was elated to see his friends again. But something was wrong. They didn't answer him, and their eyes were glazed over, not like they were dead, but like they had lost something inside of them.

    Their hearts.

That was what was missing. The Heartless had stolen Selphie and Wakka's hearts! But that couldn't be! There had to be a way to get them back! Tidus heaved both of their bodies behind him as he slowly made his way off back to Demyx.
    ---------------------
As he came back, another mysterious man approached him. This one was wearing a brown cloak, and had a dark voice. "So these children have lost their hearts as well? As crying shame. But if one were to trust the darkness, perhaps their selves could be restored?"

Tidus jumped at that chance. "I'll do anything to get their hearts back! Please?" He said, dropping their lifeless shells and coming to the mysterious man's feet. "Please, can you help get their hearts back from the Heartless?" The man looked down at him. "Back from the Heartless... Very well, but first tell me, boy. Who saved you from the Darkness, when your home was destroyed?"

Tidus stood up. "Why, Demyx. He let me stay in an old building in Hollow Bastion." The cloaked man's head snapped up. "So he has set foot there, hasn't he? Thank you for your assistance. We might meet again, maybe soon, maybe later. In the Darkness..." As he pointed his open palm at Wakka and Selphie, who started to glow with a pink color.

As Tidus looked on, his friends came back to life! "That's amazing!" He said, turning to the mysterious figure. "How-" He was gone, the cloaked man.

"Tidus! What happened, bra?" Said Wakka, not knowing how they got there. "You're safe, that's all that matters!" Said Tidus. The three of them hugged and set off toward the portal again, after all the reunion greetings.

    ---------------------------

Demyx went through the dark place. He shouldn't have ever brought Tidus to the Hollow Bastion. He had been a fool. But he had to stop Larxene, for his and Tidus's sake. Now he confronted her. "Sorry, sis, but you can't go to Xemnas. That would ruin me." Larxene looked at him defiantly. "And your secret friend?"

Demyx was indignant. But before he could further protest, the dark voice came, causing Demyx and Larxene to cringe. "So the both of you have chosen to defy me and set foot where I ordered you not to?" Said he, appearing. He threw off his cloak, revealing the full Ansem. His white hair fell down to his middle, his white and black Heartless clothing making him appear quite powerful. Lots of Heartless sprang up around them.

"Now you will make you final stand here, Betwixt and Between the Darkness!" The Heartless charged. In a flash, Demyx was holding his sitar, and Larxene her knives. Demyx slew the first three Heartless that came at him with a sweep of his sitar. He then played a chord, causing lots of bubbles to shoot forward and destroy several Heartless. Meanwhile, Larxene was killing Heartless left and right with her knives and lightning attacks.

Demyx summoned a column of water and rode it through a group of Heartless, destroying all of them. There weren't all that many left, but they were still looking bad. He didn't have enough energy left to summon water clones. Things weren't looking all that good now...

"Are you sure? How do you know he isn't lying?"
"Because he showed her to me. Kairi, from the Destiny Islands. She IS alive. Well, kind of. She lost her heart. Do you know anything about that, Demyx?"

Demyx hesitated, not sure if Tidus should know the truth. "Kind of. But if Riku is that much of a friend, I'm sure he'll find a way. He said you should look for your other friends, though, right?"

"Yeah. Wakka and Selphie. Do you know where they might be?" He asked. Demyx looked a bit uncertain. "Yeah, in Traverse Town, most likely. But it might not be safe. Not if those guys that got whatshisname are still there. Like the brown hair one?"

Tidus was unhappy to be reminded. "Oh yeah. Well, I'll go anyway. Maybe they know something about him." He proclaimed. Demyx didn't look pleased about it, but he held up his hand, and a portal opened into Traverse Town. "Good luck, Tidus. Don't die." He said humorously. But he actually meant it.

No-one in the Organization had real respect for him. He had no friends among them. He and Axel kind of partnered up, because they shared this feeling, but it wasn't the same. Tidus struck Demyx like a real friend. It made him feel good. But a teasing, feminine voice broke his thoughts.

"What are you doing here, big brother?" It said. Larxene appeared through a Dark Corridor. "Larxene!" He exclaimed, surprised. She chuckled. "Afraid so. The Superior will be very angry if he finds out you've been here. I might just tell him." Demyx looked at her challengingly. "Well, you're here, too, newbie. If I go down, so do you."

Larxene looked annoyed at that. "Fine. But I'm not the one who brought in an outsider to our business." She reminded him. Demyx was shocked. How did she know that? "You-" He started, but she vanished through the darkness again. Fear crept into the place where Demyx's heart should have been. What would she do? Surely, his sister wouldn't give him over to Xemnas. Would she?
    --------------------------
Tidus walked the streets of the Traverse Town. It was actually pretty cool here, except for the occasional Heartless. But while he was going, a charismatic voice said his name in surprise. "Tidus? It cannot be!" It said. Tidus looked excitedly. "Wakka!" He said excitedly. But it wasn't Wakka who had said his name.

The man had blue hair that fell in various patterns, and wore black. He looked powerful. "How can you be here? Am I not Unsent? Could it be that at last you, Tidus, the hero, have died, as I did long ago, at your very hands?"

Tidus was completely bewildered. He had never seen this man before. "And I assume your friend Wakka is here as well. This must be my father's work. Only he could torture me like this!" He said. This guy was insane, thought Tidus.

"You took my revenge, my Aeon, and my life. You will pay dearly. And I, Maester Seymour Guado, of the Guado nation, shall collect that payment! In good time... In good time..." After he said that, Seymour simply disappeared. "What was that all about? He knew Wakka... And he knew me?" He said, confused.

    ****************

I'm really going out on some limbs here. I decided to imply that Demyx and Larxene are brother and sister, since that would make things interesting. Really interesting. I also decided to experiment with what would happen if Tidus or Wakka encountered other FFX characters. Since all the FFVII and VIII characters seem to know each other. This is the result.

    Chapter 4
    **********
Riku entered the main entrance are of the castle in Hollow Bastion. His last visit to Sora had appalled him. Did Sora really think he could replace him with those freaks? There was no way he was serious about it. It had to be a joke. It had to be. He walked up the stairs to the upper balcony. Maleficent would be expecting him. And he didn't want to disappoint her. But as he went, a resonant and familiar voice rang through the room.

"Riku!" Riku spun around. There was Tidus, his friend, standing opposite him. "Tidus! You're here! Where have you been?" He asked excitedly.
    -------
Tidus didn't believe what he was hearing. He took out his new sword and brandished it menacingly. "You have the audacity to abandon us, hunt down our friends, then act excited to see me? Is this a joke? Because I'm not laughing!"

Riku looked confused. "What?" But it was too late. Tidus rushed at him. Riku was always the best swordsman and fighter on the island. If he was a traitor, though Tidus had to kill him. For Wakka, and Selphie, and Sora, and Kairi, and all the others.

But Riku seemed able to evade or parry all Tidus's moves. Tidus maneuvered him toward the wall, but Riku moved out of the way at the last minute, and Tidus's sword plunged into the wall, getting stuck there. Riku slashed at Tidus, but he ducked and dodged behind Riku, then roll-dove back to where his sword was, where he removed it from the wall and struck at Riku.

The force of the direct blow caused Riku to slide to the edge of the balcony, still on his feet. They both panted. "You probably forgot all about us!" Cried Tidus. "No!" Denied Riku. "Kairi... I found her. I'm trying to help her." Tidus's visage softened. "No, that can't be true. You're lying!" He said. He did a strong front flip and brought his sword down hard on Riku.

Riku tried to block it, but was sent flying back down below, to the main floor of the room. He got up shakily. Tidus leapt down and attacked him again. After a long exchange of blows, Riku made a proclamation. "Enough!" He yelled, and pointed his sword upward. Lightning came from nowhere and struck Tidus, stunning him and bringing him to his knees.

Riku walked forward and placed his sword at Tidus's neck. "Listen. I found Kairi, but she lost her heart in the darkness. I have to bring it back. Sora's the traitor. He abandoned us for new friends. He's the one we need to be fighting. But you should find Wakka and Selphie. I'll deal with Sora."

    Tidus was bewildered. "Sora?"
    -----------------------------------------------
So Sora should be the object of his anger? Tidus mulled this over as he left the castle. Sora?

It was late and Vexen really hated working so late. But of course, Xemnas was insistent that he arrange for the data frame of his new 'project' be completed. But as he grumbled, he quickly stood up from his computer chair and snapped to attention as Xemnas appeared through a Dark Corridor. "Vexen. I have a new assignment for you."

A new assignment? "What? But what about the project?" Xemnas nodded. "You may continue your work on our project, but on the side, I want to put you in charge of monitoring Demyx. I want to know if he has dealings with my brother, or any others. Understood?" Vexen acknowledged it. "Yes, he does seem like the naive sort. I'll send some to keep their eyes on him." Xemnas nodded again. "Good."

    -------------------------

Tidus looked quickly as Demyx appeared through a Dark Corridor. "Demyx!" He said. "Yeah." Replied Demyx. "I brought you something. Instead of that useless wooden sword, try using this. It'll be a lot more effective, believe me." He said, offering Tidus a blue sword that appeared to be transparent, almost like water.

"Demyx." Said Tidus as the musician turned to leave. "Yeah?" He replied. Tidus looked him in the eyes. "I saw someone from my home a while ago, after you left and before you showed up again."
    "Sora?"
"No. It was another boy from the Islands. Riku."

Demyx looked at the ground. "Yeah, Riku's fallen in with a bad crowd. In fact, I don't think he even cares about you or any of your other friends anymore." Tidus's eyes widened. "What?" He asked, confused. "Sorry, but were I you, I'd take him out. Wouldn't make a difference to him. All he cares about now is serving that lady in black Ansem is manipulating. That and killing Sora."

    Tidus looked up angrily. "What?"
"Yeah. As far as I can tell, he's gonna come for you next." Tidus picked up his new sword. He'd fought Riku before, and the travels through darkness had only made him stronger. "Where is he?" He said, revenge on his mind.

"This is the Hollow Bastion." Said Demyx, pointing toward the exit from the corridors of darkness. "I can't go out there, because my leader's brother Ansem made us all promise not to. But if you stay in this place, you should be safe. I'll try and keep you posted on your friend the Keyblader's progress. For now, make yourself at home. I'll be back later." He said. Tidus exited the portal and found himself in a run-down building. The doorway closed behind him, and he was alone. Who is Ansem? He wondered.

    ----------------

As Demyx headed back toward the World that Never Was to meet up with the others, a figure in a brown cloak approached him. "A member of Xemnas's Order? What have you been doing near the Hollow Bastion, I wonder? Did your Superior not order you not to go there?" Demyx shivered at hearing the voice. When he saw the brown-cloaked figure, he put his hands in front of him, as if trying to withhold his oncoming wrath.

The man's dark and intimidating voice always made him shudder. He was a scary guy. "I just had to see someone there. Please don't tell Xemnas. I swear, I wasn't trying to alert those others to your plans. Just call it cool, right? Besides, as long as I don't actually set foot in the place, I haven't officially broken our agreement, have I?"

The mysterious man came up to him. "Set no foot out of line, Nocturne. For I could as easily tie your world to the Darkness as any other." Demyx nodded, smiling. "Yes, sir." Just then, another black-clad Organization member appeared through a portal into the darkness. The brown-cloak disappeared, and the red-haired arrival addressed Demyx.

"Demy, what's going on? What was Ansem doing here? You know Xemnas won't be pleased if you set foot in Hollow Bastion." Demyx objected as they moved toward the portal. "No, I never technically laid a finger on the place. Relax, Axel." Axel sighed. "Whatever, just don't make me the one to bring your shell back if he cancels you."

    --------------------

"No, I'm telling you, I never went into Hollow Bastion. I guess I just came painfully close to it. Ansem must have, you know, freaked out." Demyx said to the others, who were all looking at him. Xaldin, the third-in-command, spoke now. "Inciting the wrath of one so powerful could be a very dangerous thing. If you set one more foot out of line, Demyx, punishments will ensue."

Demyx objected again. "It wasn't my fault!" A surfer-ish accent chimed in at that point, belonging to Xigbar, number two. "Not like it matters. You must have had a reason for going so close, now. I hope you aren't harboring a dirty little secret, Demy?"

Demyx simply became indignant at that. "Enough!" Roared Xemnas, the Superior. "We will allow you a leave this time, Demyx, but the next time anyone crosses Ansem, they will be punished. Remember that." Demyx cringed at the announcement. He wouldn't just leave that kid. He couldn't. Even if it meant disobeying Xemnas. The council adjourned.

    ---------------------

As Tidus hid out in the building, looking at the abandoned street outside, he saw a boy just a little older than himself walking toward the castle, the Heartless ignoring him. He had white hair, and carried a vicious-looking fin-shaped sword. "Riku!" He said in quietly in surprise.

No-one has done Demyx. I'm doing it. Because Demyx is cool. It will be fun. If I finish it.
    ---------------------

Demyx didn't know what to make of this kid. He'd shown up unconcious from a corridor of darkness. He must have come from another world, destroyed by the Heartless. He had blonde hair, and was of capable build. Looked like he trained a considerable amount. Yet he was armed with nothing more than a red stick.

He looked so innocent. He was too young for the Organization, even if he was capable. Were he a special case, such as a Keyblade master, it would be different. But he was just a kid. Nothing else. Demyx noticed a bit of movement from him. Slowly, the boy roused, and saw Demyx. "Wh...who are you?" He asked.

"Where am I?" Was his next question. Demyx nervously tried to calm him. "Easy, easy. What's your name? Where did you come from?" The boy stood, with his stick in defensive position, and hesitantly answered. "My name is Tidus. I come from the Destiny Islands. What's going on?"

"What is going on?" Came a third voice, before Demyx could answer. A man with brown, spiky hair and a Gunblade stepped out. "You!" Said Demyx. The man brandished his weapon and rushed at Demyx. "Wait! I'm not here to fight." Said the musician. But the man continued to advance. "Explain yourself, or I'll force it out of you."

A female voice echoed from the corner, though. "Leon! It's the Keyblade! You have to go! I'll find Aerith!" It said. The one called Leon looked at Demyx once more and swore under his breath and ran off. Demyx became excited. "A Keyblader! Won't Xemnas be excited about this!" He said, running after Leon. "Wait!" Called Tidus, following after the man in black.

    ***********

Demyx came to a roof and crouched, watching the scene with the Keyblade master unfold below. As Tidus came up and joined him, he gasped. "Sora!" He said, recognizing the unconscious figure below, the girl and Leon taking him away. He rushed forward. "No!" Demyx stopped him. "Uh, Tidus, right? You don't want to get in their way. I have another way." He said. Tidus stopped, and Demyx snapped. A huge, armoured Heartless appeared, along with a number of shadows. "Go get that Keyblade!" He said to the big one. The smaller Heartless moved off in the direction that Leon and his companion had gone with Sora.

"Let's go. We're being watched." He said, sensing powerful figures watching them. A corridor of darkness appeared, and Demyx took Tidus through. "But, Sora..." He said. "Don't sweat it. You'll see Sora eventually..."

I, of course, have a top however-many-I-choose list.

1)The Trumpet of the Swan (I love this movie. If you haven't seen it, you should.)
    2)Happy Feet (Dancing penguins FTW!)
3)Aladdin (I always liked this one. Jafar rocks)
4)Fantasia (I'm a musical person. And Chernabog rocks also.)

    What are yours?

They were residents of the Destiny Islands with Sora, Riku, and Kairi, were they not? Isn't it possible they lost their hearts after the Islands' descent into darkness? I know Selphie showed up in KH2 after their reformation, but, I mean, Kairi lost her memories of what happened to her. Couldn't the same have happened to them? What if they actually became Heartless/Nobodies? Would anyone know? I found this an interesting fact.

In this day and age, I feel like I'm the only person who keeps up with this franchise, one of my old favorites. Discuss it here. Who's your favorite character? Mine is Falco. Whatever, just wanna see if anyone around here still knows what this is.

Decided since I don't really have anything to do, I thought of an idea. What if I wrote an origin story about Organization XIII? I mean, we all know how they came to be, but I think I'm going to go into more detail about it. Since they didn't start out with all 13, though, it will mostly focus on the first six. Ok, here goes. How do I move this?

    -Chapter 1-

He was still confused about what this heart truly was. If it was the source of the Heartless, what could opening the door do? Would he ever be able to reverse this process? In any case, as long as that bothersome Ansem was dispatched and his last Report was finished, they couldn't do anything. The tension was unbearable.

Just then, Braig and Dilan re-entered the room. "Xehanort!" Said Braig. "it's finished. Professor Ansem's gone, and he isn't coming back for a long time." Xehanort bowed his head in reverence to his old master's memory, then solemnly continued. "Good." Was all he said. He knew he would have to abandon his body to go forward.

I shall cast it off and plunge into darkness. He finished the last line of his final report. He almost felt guilty for using Master Ansem's name on the reports, but he couldn't let anyone know about their part in this. "Xehanort! The doorway! The Heartless are coming out! We must proceed!" Even exclaimed.

The white-haired young man slowly stood and walked toward the door. "Wait." Warned Elaeus. "If we go beyond this doorway, according to our research, we can never go back." Xehanort looked at him. "I know. But we came all this way and locked away Ansem himself to get this far. We cannot stop." Elaeus nodded.

Raising a hand to the door, the others watched in awe as Xehanort opened the doorway. As the huge door crept open, a wave of darkness came over them. All the six felt overwhelming pain as they were rent into two pieces, their hearts torn from their bodies.
