I got bored yesterday, so I decided to translate the Advent Children version of One-Winged Angel. This is more or less the meaning, since Latin can have several different translations. ^^

    Latin:
    Noli manere, manere in memoria.
    Noli manere, manere in memoria.

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

    Saevam iram, iram et dolorem.
    Saevam iram, iram et dolorem.

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

    Ferum terrible, ferum fatum.

    Noli manere, manere in memoria.
    Noli manere, manere in memoria.

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

Veni, mi fili. Veni, mi fili.
Hic veni, da mihi mortem iterum.
Veni, mi fili. Veni, mi fili.
    Hic veni, da mihi...

    Noli manere in memoria.
    Saevam iram et dolorem.
    Ferum terrible fatum.
    Ille iterum veniet.

Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.

Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
    (Qui mortem invitavis,)
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
    (Poena funesta natus,)
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
    (Noli nomen vocare.)

Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili.
    (Ille iterum veniet.)

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

    English:
    Don't remain, remain in memory,
    Don't remain, remain in memory,

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

    Fierce anger, anger and sorrow,
    Fierce anger, anger and sorrow,

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

    Bring terror, bring fate

    Don't remain, remain in memory
    Don't remain, remain in memory

Come, my son. Come, my son.
Come here, give me death again.
Come, my son. Come, my son.
    Come here, give to me...

    Don't remain in memory.
    Fierce anger and sorrow.
    Bring terror and fate.
    That comes again.

My son, come, come, come, my son.
My son, come, come, come, my son.
My son, come, come, come, my son.
My son, come, come, come, my son.

My son, come, come, come, my son.
    (Who came from death,)
My son, come, come, come, my son.
    (Born of deadly punishment,)
My son, come, come, come, my son.
    (Don't call my name.)

My son, come, come, come, my son.
    (That comes again)

    Sephiroth, Sephiroth.

I knew that already. I know latins and it's not a surprise. Anyway, i think there's already a thread about this. I think something's wrong with the translation.

Well sorry then. I made that for people that didn't know Latin and wanted the meaning of the song. I searched if there was a thread like this and none came up.

I don't know a lot of Latin so thanks for posting it. I wondered what they were singing about.

I didn't meant to be offensive. I apoligize. Just because i understand latins that doesn't mean that other people can. But as i said, there's already a thread about this.

It's fine; and thanks everyone else.
By the way, Aeon, you said there's a mistake in the translation?

I'm not sure. I'll have to check my latins dictionary.

That doesn't make sense, at all. Can't it be this?:

    Fierce anger, rage and sorrow
    Fierce anger, rage and sorrow

Yeah..it kinda doesn't look correct. (No offence.) I think there was a different translation. *shruggs* I don't know. It kinda repeats the same words, and the singing changes latin words,so I don't think it's fully right. Eh,you tried. That's all that counts,I guess...

No, it's right, though the word "dolorem" should be translated as "pain" and not as "sadness/sorrow". As for the rest of it, i checked it and it's correct.

Ah, we learned "dolorem" only as sorrow.
Like I said, there's many translations for one word. That's why it's a pain in the butt to memorize, but it does eventually pay off. xD
I was one of the crazy people who decided to take both French and Latin. I almost regret it.

So, you know latins? *points at usertitle* I know, there are so many different words that look like others with completely differing meaning. I know "dolorem" as pain.

Yeah, I'm in my second (and last) year. We've covered three books, and we're almost done with the last one. The series is called "Ecce Romani". We're on IIB.
Does your title mean "from the end of time"?

We went over that already. A word can be translated different ways. I didn't use the Internet as a dictionary or for reference.

Thank you! And you're welcome. ^^ It may be awesome to read it, but it's not always fun to learn. As I've said, it does pay off eventually.

No problem. ^^ I don't mind doing this sort of stuff, since most people don't know Latin.
    But thanks again! :D
