I bought a psvita a white one which doesn't really matter but oh well, anywho it came with the latest firmware which is fw 3.30 but I can't hack it because the version of firmware on it does not support custom firmware yet, so I wanted to know if anyone knows of a downgrader that can downgrade official firmware without having to do a motherboard swap or whatever you call it? Thanks guys.^^

    Regards
    Sean B.

There currently isn't a method of downgrading Vita firmware, except for switching motherboards, which is quite complicated and not cheap.

Yeah, that's your only option right now at least.

    1. Turn OFF your PS Vita (Press Power Button for 10 seconds)
    2. Now press and hold “R” + Power + PS (PlayStation Button)
    3. Wait…
    4. Now you’re in Recovery Menu (Mode)
from there, you can factory restore the vita
if that doesn't work, go to settings and then go to the "format" option
from there, select "restore the psvita system"

just know that you cannot get back anything etc etc.

A factory restore won't downgrade the Vita's firmware.

Your sources are indeed wrong in this case. Factory restoring the console will bring it to the default state on its current firmware. If firmware downgrading was that easy, there would be a lot more to talk about in terms of Vita modding.
