I do believe his reign as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly for South Africa's Cape Colony between 1874 and 1901, when he retired, was one of the most influential in the small town's history. What are your opinions on his actions during his time in office? What might he have done differently that may have affected the colony for the better? Did he shape the parliamentary system as well as he could have? These are questions which I would like you guys to discuss here in this thread. Help, I've OD'd on What?ynol.
That's only in a formal setting. The "Sir" can be dropped when referring to him in an informal setting.
