Deus de machina. I actually took a Latin class. <-- means god of machines, if my translation is correct.

 

As White_Rook said it means God From the Machine, as was used in the game Deus Ex and in the film Dodgeball (on the treasure chest near the end of the film)

 

I think the term actually came from the Roman plays where they would literally have a god hop out of the machinery to do some godly act like smite somebody for the sake of the plot. I could be wrong and in all likelihood am but I heard it somewhere and it sounded funny. Kinda like "Washington Smash!"

I'm sure it's deus I've on several occasions seen and used that spelling and had it accepted.

It's Latin, as in dead language Romans spoke, not Spanish, as in offshoot Romance language.
