Do you think the world will end?

I heard that the world was going to end on December 21, 2012. I usually don't believe stuff like this, but many ancient cultures had the date of the end of the world sometime during the winter solstice. I don't want to freak anyone out but...if that's true, we're doomed. Technology won't evolve fast enough to prevent the end.

 

I really don't think the world will end that soon, IMO we have another billion years to go maybe a few more maybe a few less

 

I think the world has a few more centuries than that to go! A lot of predictions are vague, easy to misinterpret or just wrong. Don't worry, we'll still b here after 21st December 2012.

If I'm wrong, I won't be here to care! :D

I've heard lots like this, like one about the world ending last October, it's most likely untrue, the end of the world won't happen in our lifetime.

 

This is just like the Y2K scare or the thing about hell on earth on June 6, 2006(6/6/06). some people just really have nothing better to do so they look for any coincidence that leads to the world ending. Then they die cause they dont have a job to buy food and get kicked out of their apartment and suffer a horrible life.

 

Yeah, I doubt this is true. We'll probably just die in a bazillion years when a meteor hits or something.=O

 

Who ever told you that needs to get a job =\ We won't die that soon maybe when aliens come and visit earth? Well I dont know, no one knows. The only way to figure this out is to wait and see.

 

Actually...my parents were watching the discovery channel or something, and I heard that. But if the world did end in 2012, it would suck, since I wouldn't be out of highschool yet. I'd be a senior if it ended then. xD

 

Hhmmm.....there's a theory about satan conquering the earth in a huge war for 7 years and after that the world will end. But i don't believe stuff like that. I think that world has a long waaay to go.

 

This stuff is a LIE. Well I think.. I've been watching the news about this guy putting microships inside these bodies and they said it was about the 666 thing, and I watched this guy on YouTube saying that Taco Bell had the numbers 666 writtin inside that Bell wich is stupid but I think this is all just a friggin lie.

Didn't they also say that the world was gonna end at the millenium, and before that and like after..

Don't trust people when they say that the world is gonna end because we are all gonna live through that day thinking of christmas preperations, unless they've got freakish evidence to back up their insane ideas...

 

Rat...I was thinking in a more...scientific sense, not like, "ZOMG ZOMBIES ARE ATTACKING! HEAD FOR THE NEAREST TACO BELL!!".
But you must be right, y'know, since obviously someone's plotting to make the dead live by putting microchips in them and then Taco Bell will take over the world.

I think that they were planning to take us over with the flipping microchips, and destroy every thing else...? XD

Hey, maybe it's a Taco Bell marketing attempt! Kinda like the Cartoon Network thing, except they put microchips in you to make you want to eat tacos! xD
But seriously, I think there's a possibility an asteroid hits Earth, basically recreating the extinction of dinosaurs...except it'd be humans.

I read in the newspaper that a meteor was headed for Earth.. and that it will hit us in the year 2016 or 2019 (I forget the year). :3

It freaked me out because apparently it's 300 miles wide or something like that.

Of course, I could have just dreamt the whole thing.

Last week, preliminary computations showed a miniscule chance the asteroid would collide with Earth in the year 2019. The announcement grabbed world headlines. It's common for estimates of asteroid danger to start out small, get even smaller, then disappear entirely. When astronomers first spot a near-Earth object (NEO), they have little information to go on about its movements. Yeah, I heard something like that too. It was something on the Discovery Channel, and I think it was about the apocolapse (not even going to attempt to spell that correctly) happening because of a meteor.

That was the meteor that killed the dinos...other possibilites are a black hole forming too close to Earth, or a huge burst of gamma rays, which might have caused massive extinction some 450 million years ago.
