Don't know if anyone else has read this, but this story really made me disappointed in humanity in one part, then proud in another. The girl in the window.
Wow, I've never been so moved by an article before... I felt depressed after reading about her condition happy at her improvement angry at her mom then I pitied her mom too many emotions. At least she's improving..
That's just horrible. No child should ever have to go through anything like that. I'm planning on getting a degree in Psychology and I have seen videos on those other cases and the study with the chimps. But I do think that she'll be able to talk, in time. She just needs a lot of help with it. Since she hasn't started puberty yet(that can be confirmed) then she hasn't passed the critical period, which means there is a hope for her to at least be able to learn to speak. It will most likely be broken, but she'll have an understanding for the language and will have some applicable knowledge of it. That mother is just an absolute disgrace. I have no empathy for her not being able to see her daughter. I'm surprised they haven't put her in jail yet, but I guess without recent violations, they can't do anything to her.
How could anybody do that to a child, let alone their own? I am glad she is improving now. Poor kid. I also hope that the mother gets the help she clearly deserves. Locking her away would be the easy answer, but I think she needs help too.
Seriously? In my opinion, she should be doing community service every day until the day she dies! Plus at least a few years jail time and therapy. She basically reverted a human being back to the basest of animal instincts (something humans have all but lost). Personally, if she got what she truly deserved in my view, she would be dead right now.
That story made me kinda sad, but I'm glad they found her. I kinda connected to it a little because my younger brothers actually are autistic, but even though they're hard to take care of, we still make sure they go to school, and get fed and loved and stuff. I personally hug them almost every day.
I'm... apalled. No, I'm not. I'm ****ing pissed as hell. That woman needs some help, jail time, and someone telling her that being a parent doesn't mean finding every ****ing excuse under the sun to neglect your own daughter. These types of people are absolutely reprehensible to me. At least the girl's away from her. At least there are some decent people in the world, and two of them took the girl in.
Oh god, that story is so awful D: I remember reading a similar story to it, where a girl was locked in a room with one window for years. Her family rarely tended to her, and she had been there since being an infant. Outside the window there were cranes and tractors....she learnt movements based on them, and now picks up everything like a crane, moves sideways, doesn't understand speech... \:
This is sick. Honestly, there aren't even words enough. This made me want to cry, that poor girl. I hope she gets better enough to show her mom. How someone could neglect a child to that point and still say they were doing a good job is way beyond me.
