This is a holiday that is celebrated by Muslims. Before this, is the holy month where people fast from sunup, to sunset. They balik kampung (go to home town/village) and meet with their families. They recieve duit raya ( recieve money) and eat loads of food and go around to greet other close families and friends. For more information, go here
xD I totally didn't recognize this for a moment. It's more commonly recognized as Eid ul-Fitr, or just Eid. Yeah, my parents celebrated this on the 1st of October, and I spent my day sitting in my boiling room in a corset and gown. -_-' Got no money, but had enough food that is equivalent to a month's worth. O.o Oh yeah...I'd also stayed up 4 nights straight prior to the holiday to prepare for it, so by the actual holiday, I knocked out in every house I went to visit. Heh. Good fun. <33 Unfortunately, I'm not religious...but I do all that to keep my parents content, and not to mention, who doesn't like partying? xDD
Another way of saying it is Selamat Hari Raya Adilfitri Lol, i'm also not that relgious as well :D but i got loads of money ^^
Well, since you've got to "pay your respects to your elders" to get the money, I didn't really do all that. xD I used to do so when I was a wee kiddie, but kind of stopped after the age of nine. LOL. But money is money...wonder if I should just start doing it again so I can get some $$$$. xDD But aside from all that, it's still an awesome holiday with loads of food and so many places to visit all at once in one single day. xD It's awesome, and if you can throw a party right, then it's TOTALLY worth it. 8D
