What kind of essay is it supposed to be like. Is it just a general history of women in the industrial revolution or like a compare and contrast one?

You've got it wrong, I have to make a 19th century newspaper and the main topic is women's rights and labour. There is NOTHING WHATSOEVER in the newspaper that should relate to the 20th or 21st century.

Ok, I see what you mean, so its a newpaper on womens rights and labour. Lets think, wait what part is it that you need help on, a place to start or writing it. To start talk about the hazardous work areas, wages, treatment, housing. But I do know what part you need help with yet.

Thats right, its not that I need help, its that I could use some ideas. I would need a place to start, once I start I usually cant stop. I already know quite a bit about their wages and such. Like they usually got paid about half of what a guy would get paid for the exact same job.

Well in many cases women would work in textile factories, make clothes and cloths. They would be forced to work around 12+ hours a day get paid a few cents for a days work. They were in some cases chained to their stations and were allowed a 5 to 10 min. break per day for lunch and to go to the bathroom. Their housing was very run down apartments that were located on factory grounds, it was much like a sweatshop when you think about it. I hope that help, if not just ask I am chalked full of info on this stuff.

well, i need some serious help with this math test i've got coming up. we have to solve equations using:

    -quadratic formula
    -factoring
    -completing the square.

for example: (√ means square root)

    √(8-x) + √(6x+1) = 7
    show all solutions.

    solve using completing the square:

    -2x^2 - 3x - 3 = 0

    solve by factoring:

    3x^2 - 7x - 6 = 0

*_* all of this confuzzles my brain.

my problem is, i go through the steps and end up getting completely lost and frustrated along the way. i get the wrong answer and i can't see how. then i give up. :P
is there some easy way to remember what steps you have to take, what order they go in? especially in factoring.

When it comes for factoring, you need to see what numbers or variables are in common through out the equation. then from their, turn it into a binomial, better yet if you help PM me.

Early Industrial Rev. - Lowell mills were the first among textile mills. They hired young women, from approximately 14-20. Lowell girls [as they're commonly referred to as] were considered to be treated very well in contrast to later years. They worked up to 16 hours a day, in return being provided with high quality food, clean and fitting dorms, as well as a small but decent pay. They worked throughout the whole week excluding Sunday where they would attend church services and visit the town. Young women often resorted to working in Lowell factories so that they could pay their own dowry, therefore having a wider selection in marriage and opportunity. There were risks to working in the factory. Health conditions such as white lung disease was common among women who worked in the factories 4+ years. Machinery accidents were also always a risk.

Later Industrial Rev. - Factories hired mostly women and children since they knew they weren't obliged to pay as much for work. Workers recieved extremely unreasonable pay and had no benefits whatsoever. Conditions were highly unsafe since there was no seasonal conditioning as well as accidents that were common amongst workers. Factory owners couldn't care less because the hiring pool had become so large that humans were disposable. If your hand was mangled in the machine it would be chopped off. If you couldn't work you, plus your whole family, would be fired. So yeah, you get the idea. You can probably take up the research from here.

Pfft, I just got an eight page minimum persuasive essay assignment from my Language Arts teacher [and I get out on the eleventh of June].
