I sound like a total noob, but how do you use wi-fi for the ds and the wii? I would like it if both of them are explained, and thank you. Do you need a wire? If so, what kind?

Well...for daimond. I don't have that game so i'm only geussing.
But there should be some place in the game where it asks you if you want to go into wi-fi mode. (Porbably some part near the end of the game) And you just follow the stuff it says.
But mostly wi-fi just uses a wireless source (Like an internet connection) and wirelessly connects unto it and goes unto the internet that way.
Sorry if i'm being incredibley vauge

No, no it's fine. I'm going to try right now with the DS.

Now you said Mario Kart DS. It would be different for game, maybe? I don't really plan on getting it, but I'm curious on how it works for that.

Well for mario cart you just click on the wi-fi thing (Which is one of the first things that pops up thta you can click)
And it will ask a few questions. Like do you want to change your ds to this setting (Something like that I think) and yuo click yes and your done.
Then go back to the wi-fi mode and you choose if you want to race against people all over the world, just your country, or friends. And then you wait a moment for the wi-fi to connect and find other peopl

It did not work. I'll type what it says...

No compatible access point in range. Check your connection settings and try again.

I'm going to try and find out about my connection settings. If anyone knows what to do, please say D:

    Thanks!

I believe you have to find a compatible, wireless network source nearby before you do that... Or you have to connect with another DS?

Like an internet router. It hooks up to the internet so you can use Wifi. It's what you connect to.

First you need to have your own router in your house, so you don't steal someone elses internet. Just go into your game, like Diamond. Go to Nintendo WFC Settings. Go to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings. Go to Connection 1 and go to Search for an acess point. It should give you a list of connections, search for yours and click on it. It should test the connection and then its all set up.

Let's just get this staight: it's the same to connect for every game. You need either a wireless router or one of those Nintendo Wi-Fi USB things (only works with DS I believe, but it's much cheaper than the wireless router). If you don't have a wireless router and want to use the Wii online, you need an ethernet cable.

WEP is like a password to keep other people from accessing the internet from your router. You need to input the WEP to connect to the internet.

Check the bottom of your router. That's usually where it is.
