I can be such an idiot at times.

I promised to sing back-up vocals for a song at our schools Christmas mass.
"Why is that stupid?" you ask.
Well, first of all, I'm sick, and my throat is completely clogged. I can barely talk without a rasp that makes me sound like a chain-smoker.
Second of all, I heard the song for the first time today, and I can't even get notes.
Third of all, the performance is on Friday 8D
I've only got two days to learn it by heart.

Try downloading that song and listening to it right before going asleep. That helped me in the same situation.

 

I can't, the girl singing the lead composed/wrote it herself ;_;
I can sorta remember the melody, so I'm trying to play it over and over on the piano...

 

you're only backing up, no one will notce if you mess up.

 

I wouldn't bet on it, even if no-one noticed my expression would reveal any screw up <.<

 

Memorize the whole song and try to upstage the lead girl during the performance.

If nobody noticed then you're not doing it right.

It's like in acting. My friend and I would try to upstage the other by taking a casual step away from the audience so that the other persons back would be forced to face the audience which you never want.

With a singing group to upstage you have to casually push your way to the front of the group and sing louder than anyone else. And when I say the front I mean right in the fucking middle.
